ASiF Open House

2015-02-07_0004ASif Studios (Artist’s Studio in the Foothills) hosted an open house today and welcomed folks to stop by and check out demos, activities, presentations and exhibits.  I got to see Al Martinez create jewelry using classic tools and ancient repousee & chasing techniques,  Claudia Jeffers demonstrated how to use clay for sculpting the human head in the ceramics room and Eileen Blodgett and the Pressto Printmakers’ Group for a hands on printmaking activity.  Kathy Wronski was busy painting a dog portrait for an upcoming Shelter Me project.  If you’ve never been to ASiF check out their website for a list of classes or their upcoming exhibits.  I’ve spotlighted a few previous shows on the blog: Small Works, Winery showcase and the Open Studios tour.  The open studios will continue every month, so mark your calendars for “2nd Saturday Open House” for March 14th if you want to stop in and get inspired by art.  What’s your favorite way to celebrate the arts locally?  Leave a comment and share.
