Books, books and more books… this Saturday is California Independent Bookstore Day and if you’ve got time you can stop by The Book Seller for any one of their events, prizes or snacks, costumes encouraged.
“We’re so lucky to have so many resources for books– from the library to all the used and independent bookstores. This Saturday is actually independent bookstore day if you want to support the fabulous work they do in our community– buy a book!” says the local author Kim Culbertson, who will be at The Book Seller on Saturday from 11-12. Check out her California Bookstore Day giveaway on her blog.
Friends of the Nevada County Libraries are holding their monthly used book sale at the Doris Foley Library in downtown Nevada City, if you can’t make it on Saturday between 10am-3pm, all books will be half off on Sunday.
And because we know that I love giveaways, many thanks to our friends at The Book Seller for putting together a prize package. The giveaway includeds two autographed books: Beyond the Pale: The Story of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company by Ken Grossman, The Terrible Two by Jory Johns and Mac Barnett and a California Bookstore Day tote. Post a comment here on why you love books and pass on a suggestion of something to read and I’ll draw the winner on Thursday, May 7th. Happy to mail the prize if you live outside of the area.
