The Sacred Earth and Healing Arts of Tibet Tour with the Buddhist Monks of the Gaden Shartse Monastery are returning to Grass Valley at a new location, Banner Community Guild Hall (formerly known as Banner Grange, 12629 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley).  The opening ceremony of the Sand Mandala will be on Friday, February 22nd at 7pm and a family art day on Saturday February 23rd and March 2nd starting at 10am.  The closing ceremony will be Saturday, March 9th at 3pm.

This year the Monks are making a Medicine Buddha sand mandala for all the people what have affected by the Camp Fire in Paradise. The Gaden Shartse Monks have been to Paradise before and their hosts and their organizers all lost their homes. Medicine Buddha is the healing Buddha and when they leave Grass Valley they are going to Paradise to bless the land and the people.  Sierra Friends of Tibet invites people of all faiths and all beliefs to come and visit the Tibetan Monks at the Banner Community Guild on McCourtney Road, two miles past the Fairgrounds and discover Tibetan Culture.   The sand mandala viewing hours are 10 AM to 6 PM except during events, for a full list of events please check the Sierra Friends of Tibet website.
