Celebration of Life Triathlon
Barbara Schmidt Millar Celebration of Life Triathlon is one of those events that makes me proud to call Nevada City home. The 19th annual women’s only triathlon took place this morning in Cascade Shores. The event is a fundraiser for the Women’s Imaging Center at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital as well as a scholarship for a high school student who wants to study a healthcare profession. Over 400 people participated, either as individuals, teams or in the 5K walk/run and every single one of them was a source of inspiration. The community, the participants, the volunteers, every single one of them deserves a huge high-five! The Outside Inn is a proud sponsor of this event, kudos to the top finishers (including those family members of mine who continue to blow me out of the water), but also a huge congrats to those cancer fighters and survivors. Keep training ladies, next year’s event is only 365 days away!

These pix are so good it makes me want to train for NEXT year’s triathalon!!! Congrats to said family members for placing best in their categories. This event was very lucky to have 3 great photographers capture it, but I do have to say – Kurtis’ shot of those three ladies hugging, spoke volumes. Love that shot. Oh, and your mom looks beautiful in a swim cap. 🙂
Cathy, you should come out and cheer these ladies on one year, or do the 5K walk, bring your mom, it’s an amazing event.
