Summer Things to Do with kids, Nevada County Fair

The Nevada County Fair opened today and continues through Sunday, August 11th.  Carnival rides for kids, exhibitions of art, photography, flowers and our favorite– disgusting cakes, plus more.  We enjoyed our stroll down Treat Street, said hello to the Lions booth (go buy a taco) and enjoyed our burgers and root beer floats from the Nevada City Chamber.  It was a treat to hear Paige Anderson & The Fearless Kin (again) on the Pine Tree Stage, there’s a great line up of music throughout the fair.  Check the daily schedule for a full list of events, go check out the fair there are lots of local organizations out raising money to help support their programs throughout the upcoming year.  Nevada County Fair Live Music Exhibitions at the Nevada County Fair Nevada County Fairgrounds photos Grass Valley Nevada County Fair, livestock

Wonderful shots Erin! Thanks for adding about the elephants. HTWT abuses the elephants, plain and simple, and we don’t want them here. The videos showing them hitting and tazing them to train them is said to be edited and taken out of context. There are 50 hours of video which had to be condensed of course and how can any hitting repeatedly with a bullhook to these animals be “out of context”? I love the fair but not the elephant rides. Just boycott HTWT not the fair.
    Sorry…off my soapbox now:)
