Cycling Nevada City to Downieville
Today’s blog post comes from my mother, Evans Phelps, who is an inspiration to many of us in her continual quest for new outdoor experiences . This week she took a ride with her new touring bike from Tour of Nevada City and shared some photos and thoughts about her trip. “For a challenge and a new adventure, I rode my bike to Downieville and enjoyed a night camping along the North Yuba River. It was a beautiful, peaceful evening. For those without touring packs, you could spend the night in Downieville at one of their cute inns. It is a very scenic 50 mile ride with multiple spots to stop and swim. You cross all three forks of the Yuba Rivers. I stopped at the cafe in North San Juan for a break and took the longer less traveled road home through French Coral and Bridgeport. I am saddle soar and pooped, but I feel wonderful. I can’t wait to do it again.” If she’s not an inspiration to you, I don’t know what else is?

Wow!
Your right, Evans is an inspiration! What a great adventure.
Beautiful! This sounds like a fun trip. I want to try… maybe once I’m back in biking shape.
