Dr John Concert
Dr John and the Nite Trippers with special guest Allen Toussaint put on an amazing show at the North Star House. The benefit concert for the Bear Yuba Land Trust was put on with The Center for the Arts and feautred opening acts by the Earles of Newtown, HoneySweet and Beaucoup Chapeaux. Executive Director of the The Center for the Arts Julie Baker said, “What a great night of music, community and celebration! Thanks to all who attended and the many volunteers and staff of both organizations who worked so hard to make it a success!” In addition to the music there was a silent and live auction, food stalls (Fable Coffee, Lazy Dog Ice Cream, Old 5 Mile House, Matteo’s, Horn of the Bull Taqueria and Smiley Guys Smokehouse), a Gala Dinner by Antonio Ayestaran Catering and Fine Art Show. The best part was seeing my high school buddy, Sarah Morrow lead Dr. John’s band. She is one awesome jazz trombone player.
Special thanks to all of the volunteers for BYLT and Center for the Arts coming together to make Stars at the North Star. The house and grounds were beautiful, a crisp clear evening with stars and music. Great gala dinner by Antonio’s Catering. What a beautiful community
