Drum Power House Group Ride

Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop sponsors about half a dozen bike rides during the week, ranging from easy 10 miles to hard riding, fast paced 60 mile rides. This week the group ride was from Colfax to Drum Power House and back, a 36 mile ride with 3700 feet in elevation.  The ride started at Rollins Lake, rode through the little town of Dutch Flat, then down to Bear River, where the Drum Power House makes hydro powered electricity.  It is a great summer ride because it is shaded and you gain lots of elevation to get out of the heat. The group rides are a great opportunity to meet new people and get to know some of Nevada County’s amazing cycling opportunities, click here, here and here for previous rides on the Inn’s blog. This weekend our great little local bike shop organizes the 51st annual Nevada City Classic Bike Ride, a not to be missed criterion with world class riders in downtown Nevada City, stop by the Outside Inn for a free cookie and lemonade (while supplies last).
