Eating Out

Nevada County re-entered the red tier, allowing restaurants to re-open limited indoor capacity.  So, who’s hungry and where should you go to support local restaurants?  I checked in with a few to see what was happening downtown Nevada City.  Please remember to keep your social distance, wear your mask when interacting with the staff and tip the servers.  Three Forks Bakery and Brewery continues to create wood fire pizza, farm to fresh small plates and Three Forks craft beer (check out the collaboration with the Auburn Alehouse, Hopway 49, a West Coast IPA.)  Ike’s Quarter Cafe’s cherry tree is at its peak, while the restaurant is still doing take out only, you can sit outside under the tree and enjoy some cajun cuisine.  Heartwood Cafe and Bistro 221 have expanded outdoor seating.  The Miners Foundry Cafe recommends checking out their pastry selection, with a strong suggestion to try the croissants.  Or maybe you want a cocktail with a cheese platter or an entree, check out the catering menu (available Thursday-Saturday) from The Golden Era, outdoor seating available.  The Crazy Horse Saloon’s elevated bar food is back on the menu seven days a week or maybe grab a slice of pizza to go from The Pizza Joint.  If you would like sushi, both Nourish and Sushi in the Raw have outdoor seating for you to enjoy or take out options.  New Moon Cafe continues to create amazing to go meals Fridays & Saturdays.  Lefty’s Grill and The Willo will re-opened for dining.   And while the whole team at the Outside Inn thinks no meal is complete with ice cream from Treats, they are now open till 9pm every day!  For a list of other dining options in Nevada City, click here for the Outside Inn’s Eating Out page.  Feel free to leave a comment on your favorite go to place or local dish.
