South Yuba River, Edwards Crossing

Summer is in full force in Nevada City.  Between Summer Nights, Farmers Markets, annual events, plays, musical performances, there’s barely enough time to squeeze in a trip to the river.  But, for those of you who have spent an afternoon lounging at on a rock by the river, you know that one should always make the time to recharge down at the South Yuba River.  Our community is lucky to have this amazing river in our backyard.  I have written many blog posts about swimming holes on the Yuba rivers, click here for a list of all sorts of outdoor adventures.  These photos are from Edwards Crossing, out North Bloomfield Road.  What’s your favorite getaway spot in the summer months?  The winners from the play ticket giveaway for Lori Trowbridge for Secret Garden and Clair Chapple for Alices in Wonderland.

We love going to Edwards Crossing (on the other side of the bridge) and float on the river with the grandsons. (I also like going to San Francisco to cool off… 🙂 )

I will be playing with your boys and delighting in all the activities– boats that have motors, boats that have paddles, boats that have sails!!!!! But playing in the sand is out– the water is too high, but hopefully some adventures to tell you about!. Love to all – Peg
