The Farm to Table Dinner is returning to downtown Nevada City on Sunday, August 16th, 6:30-11pm.  For those of you who missed the picturesque family style local food event, click here and here to see more photos. The third annual event will be a fundraiser for the First Friday Art Walk featuring a multi-course meal with local farms and businesses.  “The Nevada City Farm to Table Banquet has become an annual showcase of the best of Nevada City community and its local food movement,” said event organizer Reinette Senum.  The menu has been created by Shanan Manuel of Feast & Gather and includes a variety of local farms: First Rain Farm, Sweet Roots Farm, Fowler Family Farm, Early Bird Farm, Riverhill Farm, Grass Valley Grains and the Soil Sisters.  The community event will also feature a selection of neighborhood restaurants: Matteo’s Public, Three Forks Bakery & Brewing Co., Pete’s Pizza and Treats.

The 6 course meal will include*:  Nettle pesto, roasted plum & walnut pizza (shaved Asiago), melon smoked pepper gazpacho, BBQ smoked heritage chickens with roasted strawberry salsa, abundant summer bounty salad, heirloom tomatoes with purslane, Manzanita dressing & edible flowers, BBQ garlic ‘rattlesnake’ green beans, and for dessert, grilled stone fruits & honey with Treats ice cream and Three Forks Cake/ Cookie.  Vegan /Vegetarian Option will include: Roasted heirloom tomato coulis & braised chard, Grass Valley Grains polenta cakes, shallot pinot noir sauce.

Music will be played by Halfpence and Haypenny (6:30-8:30pm) and The Crux (8:30pm onward).

    Looks like another fun event. Maybe we’ll be able to get tickets this year. 🙂

      I’m sorry, I don’t know the ticket prices. They will be released next week, so I’m guessing Reinette will include that information then?

      Last year they did seating on the ticket sales, I’m not 100% sure on this years ticket sales, Reinette might be able to answer that question.
