Summer is here and it’s time to start enjoying some of our local farmer’s bounty.  The Nevada City Farmers Market starts on Saturday, June 16th, 8:30-12:30 in downtown Nevada City.  In addition to fruit and veggies you can also grab a bite to eat, listen to live music and do a little shopping.  It’s definitely the place to be seen in Nevada City on Saturday mornings.

The Nevada County Growers Market is Saturdays 8am-1pm till after Thanksgiving at the North Star House in Grass Valley.  The market includes music, prepared foods and kids craft projects on the first Saturday of every month.  If your schedule doesn’t allow you to participate in either of these Saturday markets try the smaller Growers Market at the Sierra Presbyterian Church in Nevada City on Tuesdays 3-6pm, Penn Valley’s October Seventh Day Adventist Church Thursdays 2-5:30 PM or Bear River’s Sierra Knolls Winery Mondays 3 – 6 PM.  And the winner of last week’s Mountain Bounty Farm CSA veggie box giveaway is Randi.
