Sustainable Food & Farm Conference
Nevada County’s Sustainable Food and Farm Conference is coming to town January 8th-10th. The event is organized by Sierra Harvest (who’s mission is to “educate, inspire, and connect Nevada County families to fresh, local, seasonal food.”) This year’s key note speakers include Paul Stamets, Gabe Brown and Jean-Martin Fortier. In addition to there will be 20 different workshops on a range of farming topics, including: sustainable beekeeping, making artisan cheese, heritage pigs, teaching kids to cook, permaculture drought proofing, edible mushroom cultivation, farm business and more, click here for a full list. You can buy your tickets online, unfortunately the farm tour on Friday is already sold out.
“I have been attending the Food and Farm Conference for several years now and continue to be blown away by the quality of speakers and presenters that come to our town. Every year, I learn something new and walk away inspired to try new techniques and ideas. These are national experts in our backyard for a fraction of the cost of other conferences! This year, I’m particularly looking forward to Paul Stamets,” said Farmer Amanda from Food Love Project.
