Food Love Project Soup Night
If you have a child going to school in the Nevada City area, there’s a chance you’ve heard of the Food Love Project. If you haven’t, here’s your chance! The Food Love Project is an educational farm that is a part of the Living Lands Agrarian Network, a non-profit that trains farmers and educates community members about growing and eating fresh local food. Started by Amanda Thibodeau in 2010, the Food Love farm has provided over 3,000 hours of education since its inception.
On Wednesday April 17th, the Food Love Project is having its 3rd annual soup night fundraiser at the Stonehouse to support farm to school education in this community. The event will feature delicious locally grown homemade soups and fresh bread, followed by an all ages dance party with Turnip the Beet (DJ’s Owen, Sam and Charlie) who will be spinning an all vinyl mix of strut funk and soul jams designed to get you moving!
Soup will be served from 5:30-7:30PM and music will begin shortly thereafter. Dinner price is $10 per adult and kids eat FREE! Suggested donation of $5+ for the dance party. Bring your own bowl, spoon, and dancin’ shoes. Amanda has generously offered up a little giveaway to help spread the love, please post a comment on this blog post for your chance to win 5 Food Love Project seed packets, decorated by local students. I will draw the winner on Monday, April 22nd. And the winner of Carolines Coffee Roasters Birthday giveaway is Evan Reiffel.
