My favorite food and wine pairing is a red blend and chocolate! I won’t be able to attend the ball- can you pass the tickets onto the woman who commented it was her birthday that night!? A gift to her-

There is nothing I like better than drinking a full bodied, earthy and fruity Petite Syrah with a black pepper encrusted, N.Y. Sirloin steak, raised on grass in our very own Nevada County!

If it’s got bubbles in it, I’m drinking it; if it has chocolate on it, I’m eating it! I can’t wait!!!

Oh, easy…a goat cheese from Wheyward Girl Creamery and a Zinfandel from Sazbo! I haven’t attended this event before–thank you for posting about it, Erin! (Oh, okay, I wouldn’t turn down a piece of dark chocolate, either.)

I just opened a bottle of Sierra Starr’s “Jack’s Blend” and it was fabulous with homemade lasagna. Then again, a late harvest port with anything chocolate is to die for…guess I just love wine! I haven’t made any plans for March 3, so I’d really love tickets to attend this year’s Foothills Celebration! Thanks Erin – and I hope you’re staying dry! 🙂

Aren’t we fortunate to have so many wonderful choices in our area? Sounds like an awesome event!
I like a nice Cab with a spaghetti dinner!

  1. […] To kick off the 2017 season, Sierra Stages presents the play “End Days” at the historic Nevada Theatre.  Sixteen-year-old Rachel Stein is having a bad year. Her father hasn’t changed out of his pajamas since 9/11. Her mother has begun a close, personal relationship with Jesus. Her new neighbor, a sixteen-year-old Elvis impersonator, has fallen for her hard. And the Apocalypse is coming Wednesday. Her only hope is that Stephen Hawking will save them all.  Opening night is Thursday, March 2nd and the play runs for four weekends.  Written by Deborah Zoe Laufer, the play is a comedy about science, religion and family.  “The universality of the denouement brings this comedy full circle, leaving us to admire the relevancy of Laufer’s humor and wisdom of her message,” wrote Variety magazine.  Directed & set design by Robert Rossman, lighting design by Erin Beatie and Joshua Vrooman, and costume design by Paulette Sand-Gilbert. The cast includes Nevada County actors Brian Arnold, Cathy Callas, Max Freedman, Michele Nesbit, and T.E. Wolfe.  If you want to see the play this week, there are special preview screenings Thursday & Friday for a discounted ticket price.  You can purchase tickets online or post a comment here and one lucky winner will win a pair of tickets for a performance March 10th, 11th or 12th.  If you decide you can’t miss the summer production of Chicago, you can still buy a season pass to support Sierra Stages.  Winner will be announced on Wednesday, March 8th.  Congrats to Damian for winning the tickets to the Foothills Celebration.
