Holiday Concerts

The holidays are a great time to get out and support the arts with numerous concerts, plays and performances.  Whether you want to enjoy caroling outside, a rock concert or classical music from around the globe, Nevada City & Grass Valley have a number of options.  Music in the Mountains will have their Happy Holidays program at the Amaral Center at Nevada County Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday December 8th and 9th.  InConcert Sierra will showcase the Sierra Master Chorale and Orchestra and celebrate the final concert for their Sierra Master Chorale founding music director, Ken Hardin.  The choir has chosen favorites of past holiday concerts, and Ken added his own favorite to complete a sensational and joyful program.  Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, December 15th and 16th to enjoy the holiday program of InConcert Sierra.  Olli Orchestra’s, Nevada County Community Orchestra, has a free concert on Friday, November 30th at Sierra College.  Colla Voce of the Sierra Chamber presents Morning Christmas, Saturday, December 8th at Grace Lutheran Church.  Or maybe it’s time to think about your New Year’s Eve plans?  Petty Luv will be performing at the Miners Foundry with special guest Love Train on Monday, December 31st at the New Year’s Eve Bash.  With so many things to do how are you going to choose?  And there’s plenty of opportunity to hear artists on the street at both Nevada City Victorian Christmas (12/9, 12/12, 12/16, 12/19 and 12/23) and the Cornish Choir at Grass Valley Cornish Christmas (Fridays till December 21st).  Leave a comment about your favorite holiday concert.
