Grass Valley Holiday Market

Downtown Grass Valley Shops

Downtown Grass Valley’s annual Holiday Market is coming up this weekend, Saturday, November 10th.  The event, designed to showcase local businesses is a great opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping and get some great deals.

La Te Da is offering 20% off all shoes and outer wear, The Book Seller is offering 20% off items.  Tess’ Kitchen Store will have hourly raffle prizes, no purchase required.  Foothill Mercantile has their annual toy sale and Yuba Blue says any purchase over $50 gets you in the draw of one of three gift baskets worth hundreds of dollars.  His, A Gentleman’s Sundry, opened their doors last week and welcomes folks to come check out their boutique men’s shop.  Any purchase during the holiday market over $200 will get 2 complimentary whisky glasses.  Heart and Home is offering a special 10% off any purchase.

“It is fantastic to work with promoting the downtown merchants in Grass Valley,” said Marni Marshall, Grass Valley Downtown Association Director.  When asked what’s unique about shopping downtown she explained, “it’s the atmosphere in a historic district.  You get a sense of the history, and the personal small town touches.  There is also the experience of seeing what is new in downtown.  Several new businesses have opened, or are on the precipice of opening in time for our holiday events Cornish Christmas and the WinterFest daytime family event that culminates in a town tree lighting event with our Cornish Choir.  The Downtown Holiday Market (formerly knows as Holiday Open House) is a kick-off to the holiday shopping season.  Participating merchants will have a variety of specials, such as door prizes, raffle prizes, sales, entertainment, and pop-up shops within shops.  It encourages people to shop local and see what your downtown merchants have to offer for gifts and experiences.  It’s a fun way to spend the day with friends and family.”

You can see a full list of Grass Valley shops on the Grass Valley Downtown Association website.  What’s on your local shopping list?  And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Grass Valley Cornish Christmas, Friday evenings starting November 23rd- December 21st.  And to help you get into the holiday spirit Yuba Blue has offered up a travel mug and a $10 gift certificate and Carolines Coffee has a complimentary holiday drink for the travel mug, post a comment on this blog post and I’ll announce the winner on Monday, November 12th.  **Edited to say the winner is Roseann.
