Nevada County Grown Garlic by Dinner Bell Farm

The Grass Valley Thursday Night Market kicked off the summer season last night with fresh fruit, veggies and flowers.  Some of the local farms that were out last night were Dinner Bell Farms (selling garlic and flowers), Johnson Family Farms (selling eggs, tomatoes, squash and beans) and Family Friendly Farms (selling beef).  The market is every Thursday night from 5-8:30pm now till September 26th.  In addition to the farmers market the event includes handmade crafts (Kurtis Ostrom Photography, Junk in the Trunk, Paper Rabbit), food and live music.  For additional photos from the event check out Sierra Food Wine Art’s gallery by Kial James.  There are a number of local farmers in Nevada County  if you’re looking to support your local agriculture click here for the Nevada County Grown farm guide.  The winner from this week’s Avenue Q giveaway is Hilary.
