Grass Valley Thursday Night Market

Metaphysical Juice, photos by Erin Thiem Outside InnGrass Valley Thursday Night Market has returned from the summer season, 6-9pm in downtown every Thursday till August 14th.  Stop by and shop fresh fruits and vegetables in the Farmers Market, listen to live music, shop artisans booths or pick up a tasty treat to enjoy while strolling the event.  We enjoyed a cupcake from Brew Bakers Family Cafe, a cold press juice from Metaphysical Juice, a honey stick form Jardin del Rio, homemade seasonings from Hucks Hollow Farm, olive oil tasting from Olive Vitality, chatted with the lovely folks from Make Local Habit and The Book Seller and enjoyed some of the goodies from The Hand Made’ns Collective, including a fine carrot necklace by wire jewelry artist Kathy Frey.  We almost bought a pie from An Honest Pie and I wanted a glass of wine from the Smith Vineyard tasting room, but you can’t do it all….  The family friendly event is a great way to spend an evening, you’re bound to run into someone you know.  For other Farmers Markets, check out the Nevada County Growers Market at the North Star House (8- 12:30, Saturdays) or the Nevada County Rood Center (2-5:30, Tuesdays) and the Nevada City Farmers Market in downtown Nevada City (8:30-1:00pm, Saturdays).  What’s your favorite part of local farmers markets, leave a comment and share.  And the winner from last week’s Jade Summit Tea Shop giveaway is Kristy.

How nice to feature the GV downtown market! Julia, Libby and the GVDA have worked very hard this year to make it much better than last year. It looks like it is much more diverse and exciting. As always, you do a beautiful job!

Farmer’s Markets are just one of my favorite things ever! Even as a little girl. I don’t even want to grow my own food because I love them so much. The veggies, the fun… it makes me feel European and part of a larger eco-system. It all just makes me happy 🙂
