Harmony Books
Harmony Books has opened its doors in a new location, 130 Main Street, next door to the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce. The locally owned bookstore is open 7 days a week, 10am- 5:30pm (Monday-Saturday) and 11- 4pm on Sundays. Local author Molly Fisk shared the thoughts, “Despite in-roads by Amazon and other huge enterprises, your local independent bookstore is still the place to find advice on good books: what to read, what to give your father-in-law or your niece, what’s coming out next month, and which new writers to watch. Special orders arrive in no time. Harmony Books is still one of our cornerstones in Nevada City, even though the store has moved two blocks from its decades-long location.” So regardless of whether you need a young adult novel, local history information, a Nevada City postcard or a current best seller fiction novel, there is something for everyone. Owner Stacey Colin has offered up 5 special saving coupons for the Outside Inn blog readers, post a comment on this blog post about your favorite book and I’ll draw the winners for a 10% off discount on Monday, March 17th. And don’t forget there’s still time to enter for the giveaway to Enid and Edgar and the One Fine Day wedding event. © 2014 InnSide Nevada City, © Photos by Erin Thiem
All time favorite book has got to be Jane Eyre. It is a classic that will never grow old.
Today my favorite book is “The Book Thief”!
So happy to see Harmony next to the Chamber of Commerce and look forward to browsing.
My new fav is The Little Pea
Favorite book of the moment and perhaps “always”……..Harry Potter! Well, technically that is a series I suppose!
Such a hard question! I remember going to harmony books as a kid : ) one favorite book will have to be the great gatsby.
One of my favorite books (and one that I buy when I see it at used book sales) is “The Eight” by Katherine Neville. However, “Pride and Prejudice” is one that I reread every several years or so.
I’m looking forward to seeing the new incarnation of Harmony Books!
I can’t say which book is my favorite, so I’ll throw out a few favorites.
RingWorld by Niven
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
The Road by McCarthy
Dune by Herbert
A Fire upon the Deep by Vinge
Nothing wrong with a few suggestions! But if you win, I’m only giving you one coupon (but you could buy 5 books!).
I love the books about the Sierra Nevada area I have picked up there; ‘The Yuba’ hikes and walks by Hank Meals, and ‘Nature Noir’ by Jordan Fisher Smith. Great book store!
