Hello September

Hello September!  The Outside Inn crew wants to take a deep breath and marvel at another amazing summer season.  Despite the challenges of COVID, forest fires and the continual changing of plans, we’re proud of being able to show up and continue to provide consistent top notch accommodation.  We get many repeat guests who come year after year and many new guests who get to experience the Outside Inn and Nevada City for the first time. We appreciate them all and thank you for supporting our business and our community.  Many visitors swim in the river, attend local events, celebrate loved ones at weddings and take advantage of many of the kid friendly activities we have in our community.  So thanks to all the repeat guests, the newcomers and locals who sent their family and friends to hang out with us at the Outside Inn and the Inn Town Campground.  We feel honored to be able to play a part of people’s summer fun.

So what’s happening in town? Well, fall is approaching, and I love fall!  I love everything about it.  The weather is cooler, but still warm.  Halloween is on the horizon and lazy days at the river are still a reality.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with all of the fun in September & October here are a few events to check out:

• Historic Cemetery Tour, October 14th
• Heart of Gold Gravel Ride (November 20th)

I often say how much I love our community.  Given the challenges of the last year and a half, it is nice to remember on a daily basis why we call Nevada City home.  It still feels like summer here, and will be for several more weeks, but we’re all excited about the changing of the seasons and the anticipation of the fall colors, pending holidays and a new rhythm to town.  And while I have spent most of my summer days at the Inn Town Campground, I’m still active on Instagram (check out the Inn Town Campground and Visit Nevada City feeds for more fun) and Facebook.  Plus, I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to fall colors in Nevada City.  So, here’s to better weather, reduced fires and a great fall.  Cheers!
