Holiday Giveaway
The Outside Inn’s InnSide Nevada City blog is excited to share our end of the year giveaway! All year long I showcase, spotlight and share exciting things to do in Nevada City and Grass Valley. It’s hard to believe I started this blog just shy of 8 years ago! The Grand Giveaway, Grateful Giveaway, Ultimate Giveaway, Epic Giveaway, the Crazy Giveaway, InnSide Nevada City giveaway were a lot of fun; if you have time I highly recommend reading the comments. This year the crate has grown to include 73 different businesses and is valued at $3495. Can I say, yet again, how amazing our little town is? The time I spent reaching out to local businesses and organizations leading up to this giveaway really reminds me how fabulous our community is and how thankful I am to call this place home. When we opened the Inn Town Campground 2 years ago, I really grew to understand that its success is due in large part to the support of our entire community. This year the collection of goodies means even more to me, because it really showcases how many businesses, organizations and individuals are excited to be a part of the blog and to join together to highlight our area. This prize is a really great, over the top way to say thank you to the entire community.
One extremely lucky person is going to win this entire box full of prizes. Scroll down for the complete list of what’s included. How do you enter to win this amazing basket of Nevada County goodness? Add a comment to this blog post and tell me what you love about the Outside Inn’s InnSide Nevada City blog? Do you have a favorite post? Do you have a favorite photo? Do you have a favorite local event? Did you learn something new this year from the blog? Feel free to add a link in your comment to one of your favorite blog posts or photos. You can always look back through the blog with the search box in the footer of the website. The winner will be announced at noon on Christmas Day. Thank you for showcasing and honoring the cultural creatives in our community, and for being a local’s resource as well as one for tourists.
Thank you! Cultural creatives… what a great description! Happy Holidays.
It was my joy to meet you and your husband on a photo walk of Malakoff Diggins and surrounding area. Your posts and photos are most relevant to our community. Thank you, Ty
Thanks for joining us on the photo walk.
My husband and I recently moved to Penn Valley and are enjoying exploring our new surroundings. We read about Erin’s blog and the holiday giveaway in the paper this morning. What a great resource for learning more about what Nevada City/County has to offer. Thank you!
Thanks for joining in on the fun, it was nice of The Union to give a shout out to this community love fest.
LOVE your blog. Have enjoyed all you do for our community.
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love Nevada City, and grew up in the area, attending Nevada Union. I moved out of the area for a bit but am so happy to be moving back soon. There is always something fun going on.
Indeed! Hope that your return goes smoothly.
Holy moly, Erin! You’ve really outdone yourself this year. What an amazing package of goodies. Thanks for all you do for our little town. It wouldn’t be the same without you.
Thanks Marjorie, I do love that the giveaway grows with time…. but it’s truly just a great example of our small town love! (It’s not me, I swear, I just get the pleasure of sharing it with others).
You rock! I look forward to your blog posts, and you let me know via email when you’ve posted, so that’s great! The photographs are beautiful and make me thankful that I live in such a beautiful place with wonderful people! Thank you for sharing the beauty and wonder!
Beauty and wonder is a great way to describe it… I just returned from a trip of wandering around Paris and it was literally all about exploring beauty and wonder– but there is so much we can do here in our own backyards and sometimes traveling that far away is a great reminder! Happy Holidays.
Thank you so much for hosting the post Halloween cemetery walk. So cool and informative.
I agree, even though I did that Folk Trails Hike both years, I learned something new on both times! And events like that always amaze me that folks travel from out of the area to be a part of it.
I learn about so many events through the blog, I’ve lives here almost all my life and it still surprises me how many events I don’t know about. However my favorite thing about Nevada city is Halloween! Seriously, it’s magical ✨
While I feel like I have to admit that Halloween isn’t my favorite event of the year (the clean up work is a bit daunting), I do love that the town gets so into the spirit and that the entire motel is full of guests who come from afar to be a part of the fun.
OMG Erin. This gets better and better every year. I love seeing some old favorite stores contributing to this and the new ones too. Some serious local love goes into this giveaway. Thanks for reminding me throughout the year about the amazing events our community offers as well as places to explore. Love everything about your blog including the photography. Thanks for showcasing our wonderful area.
I love that you chime in throughout the year, so even if we don’t cross paths in real life that often, I know that you’re thinking of me…. so thanks for being a consistent cheerleader.
Shared the love!
Shared on Facebook and Twitter!
I love everything about this blog, but I especially appreciate the events and new restaurants postings. Thank you for contributing so much to the community and beyond!
Oh man, I’m behind on the restaurants– really need to eat my way through more of the amazing offerings in Nevada County. Perhaps we should encourage the restaurants to reach out to me directly? But, on the short of places I have not covered and should: The Ol Republic Roadhouse, The Pour House, Wild Eye Pub, Watershed at the Owl, Tara, MeZe, The Stonehouse…. to name a few. You see how I have more work cut out for me?
I grew up in Los Angeles and did not experience seasons in any real way throughout my childhood. After living here for 18 years, I remain totally enchanted and delighted by fall in the foothills. The crisp air, stunning foliage, change of seasons, and excuse to pull out my boots combine to make me a very happy camper. Your Fall blog with gorgeous local photos and cool info on local walks and tree viewing is wonderful.
What I love is that even though I grew here in Nevada City I fall in love with the town every year at that time– the colors are so much fun to see. And even though I know which trees I love seeing, every year I get excited by them again. Happy holidays, so glad to hear it inspired you to get out and enjoy the colors.
Wow. Erin is a busy girl. Nice job. The Nevada City Outside Inn Chamber of Chamber of Commerce.
It’s such a great opportunity to reach out to the community businesses and organizations… but yes, I was a bit busy…. Happy Holidays!
Erin, we just love your blog, we have learned a lot about the area and have adjusted our camping trips accordingly. I think we have only gone to only one other campground this entire year. For me, I like the info on the breweries (GVB for one) and the kids events. We brought our grand daughter up for the Halloween event and in the past the Easter egg hunt. She was supposed to come up with us later today for the Christmas events as we will be camping but she’s a little under the weather. She loves the trains so that was going to be her day. One of my favorite pictures you took was on the South Yuba River post, the one with the flowers in the foreground with the river in the background. I like trying to get those kinds of shots but I rarely get the colors all to cooperate like that. Thanks for the blog and see y’all later today!
Oh, the Santa event the railroad museum is a fun one, I’m sorry she’ll miss it (although it can be rather crowded, so maybe a visit another time is for the best). Look forward to having you return, thanks for your consistent support (and awesome decorated RV sites).
I love your photos. Also, I like that you have local walks leaving from the Outside Inn highlighting the beauty of where we live in different seasons. Thank you.
The series of local walks with Folk Trails Hiking Club has been fun (we’ve got one more for this year next Thursday). But stay tuned for the 2019 series (we did them starting from the Inn Town Campground in the summer).
Yes! I love to see all of the local fun and delish offerings here and on your blog throughout the year – thank you for putting this together and for keeping our inboxes full of beautiful pics of this sweet place.
Thanks Meshawn…. and if you recruit your friends to play along and win, you can celebrate YEAR ROUND!
Erin, you are amazing! This basket is such a testament to both you and the amazing creative spirit and generosity of our community. I think that’s what I love most about your blog – you’re such a great supporter and celebrator of who we are! I’ll share now on our FB page, and of course, I want to win the basket!
Thanks for everything you do!
Shana
Thanks Shana…. I was thinking of you b/c I went to Paris and when I told someone about the amazing almond croissant I had someone asked, “Did it compare with Three Forks’ croissants?” That, in itself is a compliment that I think you should take seriously.
I love this blog to keep me informed of events happening in and around Nevada City!
Thanks! If only I could actually keep on top of all the things that happen, but it is fun to give a shout out to as many as I can.
I think what inspires me most, Erin, is your absolute passion and joy of living here, and sharing it with all of us. I get a lot of my local information from your blog posts, and I enjoy reading about our fantastic little town. We are truly blessed to live here. Thank you for all that you do and keep the inspiration!
It’s a genuine passion, so I’m glad you appreciate it. Happy holidays.
Just shared the love on FB! ❤️
Shared this great blog on my Facebook page!
I love reading your posts and blogs they share what’s happening around town and the pictures are amazing 🙂
Thanks, it seems for a small town there’s always something happening!!! Happy holidays.
I shared the love
How can one choose? All the photos are fabulous. And your blog posts keep me in the loop of what’s happening. After living there for 20 years (and working at j.j.jackson’s for Martha Meredith) I still love being in the know and visit every year.
The store owners are a very generous lot (Leea, Stuey, LeeAnne……). I would love to win so I could share some of the gifts with all my old friends in NC and GV. Or better yet with some Fire refugees that are in need of some joy.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
You don’t actually have to choose one, I’m okay with that. It’s truly a giveaway that could give and give and give, so how fabulous that you would share the love. Happy holidays.
I love learning about local events in town that previously weren’t on my radar!
Me too! That’s the crazy thing is that I’m learning at the same time. Now if only we could all find the time to do all of the events?
I love your posts. Your pictures always remind me of why I love and live in this beautiful little town. I signed up for your emails so I don’t miss any posts. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you…. happy holidays.
Love how involved you guys are with all things Nevada City. I alway appreciated being able to pickup my CSA box from you !!
Thanks, we try. And yes, we were happy to be a Mountain Bounty CSA host for many years. I’m still a subscriber, even if we are no longer the hosts…. But don’t worry the free veggie stand is still at the motel.
I have been two inntown twice and have enjoyed both times tremendously. I love Nevada city for its natural wonders, such as the hiking! Can’t wait to go back.
Always great to hear, look forward to having you return.
As a newer arrival to the area I love learning about places, events and people in this community. The photos are great too!
Welcome to the area!
I just love all the great ideas you have regarding what to see and where to look.
Loved the fall color session! I am a member of the Nevada City Lions club and just love to help this beautiful town. Thanks for all you do!
Can’t beat Nevada City fall colors, truly one of my favorite times of the year.
Always love your photos Erin. You helps us enjoy each season and moment in Nevada City. Thank you
I’m not sure I can take on the responsibility of helping you enjoy every moment in Nevada City, but I do love all the seasons too.
New to Nevada City in 2017, my first order of business was to Find The Hikes. I thought I had done good coverage until I found this blog. The amazing pics on this site sent me down trails I would never have found on my own. The guided walks added layers of meaning and appreciate for buildings and streets I walk past daily. More importantly, through this blog I found my community. My adventures are more social than solo these days. In short, InnSide Nevada City gave me what I craved the most: Belonging.
Beautiful…. so happy to hear this…. I’m so glad you found the right people.
I love our little town and all of the photos and upcoming events that you post!
Thank you! Happy holidays.
Love getting updates about what is going on in Nevada City! I think my favorite one is “Top 5 Dog Friendly Restaurants”. We used to live in Nevada City and so enjoy our return trips. We travel with our dogs and your blog posts about the dog friendly restaurants, the trails, activities, etc. has been so very helpful! Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Oh, I should do more on dog friendly activities.. it wasn’t actually a blog post, but a page on the Things to Do section of the website (but a blog post is a great idea!). Happy Holidays.
I shared the love! Thank you for doing this each year!
I love the images you use–they often speak for themselves. They always highlight our community in such a wonderful way and remind me why I love it here.
Thanks Melinda for all that you do for this community.
Erin, you ROCK, thank you for another yearlong posts of all the new and interesting places to go and business that are opening, among so many other things that you do for our community. AND thank you for including my art as part of your offering. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
R
Thanks for being a part of it– I realize that the actual painting was too large, but glad to have a smaller representation of your artistic fun in the mix.
What an epic giveaway and what a fantastic way to showcase all the hometown Love! My favorite post was from Instagram and highlighted the spectacular fall colors we get to enjoy around town. This particular post was of a tree in the neighborhood that I see every day on my drive into town and back home. One of my favorite fall splendors: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo0LuN7AQdN/
Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you– and I love that tree too…
This is quite the amazing show of our community and it’s fantastic efforts to work together! The Outside Inn has always been such a wonderful part of Nevada City for as long as I can remember! My favorite blog posts are any and all about the Yuba river! The photos always bring me to the grandeur of the river and remind me once more how lucky I am to live here!
We’ve been in business for 20 years- amazing to think about how long that is… But I too feel lucky to live here, thanks for playing along with this giveaway.
You know I love the blog! I’ve been subscribed for a long time on the email list and I’m always reading what’s new and current and what’s happening in town. My favorite from this year was https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/nevada-city-kid-friendly-activities.htm/ with a four year old I feel like were always doing the same things each week espically in the summer so I loved this article and found new things to do with my little. Photos are always amazing and I love how extremely active you are in our community! Thanks for keeping us all up to date Erin and always sharing the love!
Thank you for your consistent enthusiasm and I love that you’ve won plenty of things over the years (I realize this giveaway takes the cake, but the little ones are still fun too).
Shared the love on facebook!
What a wonderful give away Erin! I have always wanted to have a stay-cation at the Campgrounds!
Well in addition to the Staycation you could go eat, shop and enjoy events throughout the year… but a staycation is always a good option….(in my slightly biased opinion).
Erin, there is enough in this giveaway to have a whole stay-cation with food, movies and shopping included! Thank you. I just shared the post on Facebook!
I love all the photos, especially the river pictures. This blog is also the best (in my opinion) way to find out what is going on in town!!
Thanks! And I appreciate the positive feedback on the photos of the river, as there’s always a healthy balance of respecting Mother Nature and reminding folks to do their part to pack it in and pack it out (or carpool, etc).
I often find my way to the blog via instagram posts and I am always delighted by what I find. It would be hard to choose a favorite. I don’t live locally, but my mother does and I love finding fun events to use as an excuse to visit her as well as spend time in such a beautiful and unique area. I have fallen so in love with Nevada City/Grass Valley and I love to share that love with others. So much so in fact my now husband and I just got married this past year in the area. I sincerely appreciate this blog for constantly keeping me informed about such a special place in my heart. Thank you!
Congrats on your wedding and I love that my posts inspire you to come visit and enjoy our community.
I especially appreciate the blogs about local hiking trails – I’m always looking for a new place to hike and your descriptions and information are always helpful. I read every blog and always get new info.
Thank you, always good to get a reminder to #OptOutside!
Community, history, home town feels and the never ending love that exudes from this romantic little town.
Romantic little town…. I think of all the non Instagram worthy moments in a small town, the good, the bad and the sometimes ugly, but I love the idea of never ending love.
It isn’t often that I open and read every email from a blog subscription, but I can’t risk missing something wonderful you’re sharing about our lovely, engaged, and unique little community. Thanks as always for your great contributions, Erin!
Thank you! And as I said before, I love that we live in a small enough town that you don’t think I’m total weird for wishing you condolences for your dog at the farmers market.
I love learning about everything our local community has to offer, beautiful sites, events and local shops!
There are some great shops, it’s high on the re-do list for 2019.
I shared on Facebook!
I love this Blog. I moved to Nevada City from Seattle 2 years ago and I haven’t found anything better than shows local events and gives background. Also, I work right by the in-town campground get to walk through there often. Nicest campground I’ve ever been to. 🙂
Thanks, welcome to Nevada City.
Because this blog shows your incredible love and cultivation of community!
Thanks Lisa.
Signed up for email!
I say this every year I can’t live in my hometown, your blog connects me to home, and to reminders of the place that shaped me, even when I’m far away. It also keeps me up-to-date on changes to look for when I visit, which is often. Thanks for your great photos and I’m pretty keen on your Insta feed. @outsideinn
Thanks Tyson… I think that I forget how many Nevada County natives feel that way and this post is a nice reminder of that.
Thanks Erin! Shared on FB. Love your posts as always 🙂 best resource in town. Happy Holidays.
Thanks Krystle, and always with you I love that you saw the potential in me years ago!
I shared the good cheer on Instagram! Thanks again.
We recently stayed in the Cottage at the Outside Inn, and I had planned to go several places in and around Nevada City you had highlighted on your blog. But when we checked in, we noticed a paper in your display rack of activities describing locations where the Hallmark Christmas Card movie was shot. It’s my parent’s favorite Hallmark movie of all, so we had a total blast visiting the different locations with them, taking pics, and chatting with all the friendly business proprietors. And we are still enjoying the delicious bags of coffee we purchased at Crumbunny Coffee. Thank you for a lovely experience, we would love to return.
This is awesome!!! Thanks so much for sharing. Happy holidays.
Shared!
I love to show visitors your blog to show off our beautiful area!
Great way to get them to come visit.
I love how the blog tells the ongoing story of Nevada City. The town is truly a jewel in the Sierras. My wife and I have had the chance to visit twice since October, staying at the Inn Town Campground, our new favorite. It is hard to describe the charm and feeling of peace around the town, but I think the Outside Inn blog captures the essence perfectly. We want to keep coming back to experience all of the wonderful things we keep reading about, the Yuba River in the summer, colors of the fall, all the deliciousness the farmers’ market has to offer… Keep up the great work!
That sounds like a great plan!!!!
Thanks for showcasing one of my favorite little cities! We love every local business we’ve visited.
Way to shop local.
Oh my gosh!!! Your posts and pictures always make me feel like I’m there even when I can’t be. Keeping me informed and updated has actually allowed me to attend and plan my day trips (and a few weekend trips) around what’s going on. Love the pictures!!! Your blog makes me feel like I’m part of your amazing community up there!!
Well I’m glad you feel welcomed, I tell that to people all the time at both the motel and the campground, that we want you to feel a part of our community. So I’m glad the blog helps with folks who are only just coming for the day.
That’s quite a list of prizes!
Long time follower of your blog, and I especially appreciate all the news you share with us about local events and businesses! Many times I learn about a new shop that opened up that I wouldn’t otherwise have known about, or a fun happening in our area that I would not have been aware of! Thanks for all you do!
And I love that you’ve won goodies over those years… to help motivate you to go participate in some of the fun events/shops. Happy holidays!
What’s not to love about where we call home? Beauty abounds. Love all of our festivals, street fairs and feel of community.
Thanks… I feel the same way.
Hey Erin – amazing basket! You are a poster child for community spirit. My favorite thing about your blog is seeing photos of everyone having fun. Also wondering how you manage to do it all.
Wait… you’ve been in the blog before– so you can count yourself as someone who’s been having fun…. I don’t get it all done, that’s the running joke.
Yay! Crossing my fingers :)))
And toes….
Also I’m sharing on IG!
What a great giveaway!!! I love this time of year, and your blog has been so helpful in letting me know what’s happening always and the dates for events! I follow you on Instagram also and can see what’s locally going on through you since you’re so informative. In the past we’ve found hiking trails and attended events like Victorian xmas. 🙂
I try… but chuckling at one of the posts where I got the dates wrong for an event, great thing about that is that I have lovely readers who tell me and then I can go fix it online 🙂
Wowza, what a gift box! Someone’s going to have a lot of fun when they win this! I really like your blog, and love how I find myself forwarding your posts often to friends and family who are coming to visit Nevada City – I can say, “look, this cool concert series is happening, or this cool downtown event,” and they can get excited about going! Thanks for your work! – Maisie
A gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving.
Fabulous information and photos. It is great to have such a wonderful go to, to find upcoming events! The basket is perfectly put together! Thank you!
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love this blog and how it highlights different events and businesses locally!
There’s so much to spotlight!
I’ve never before lived in a town with such community spirit. Nevada City is my home and I’m proud to be a part of our town! As others have commented, thanks for all you do to foster the feeling of oneness in Nevada City.
Fostering the feeling of oneness… that’s a lovely compliment, thank you.
I liked the national coffee day post because coffee is my life blood! This pictures made me want to get cozy in one of our many great coffee shops and settle in for a long time! We are lucky to have some great coffee shops in our town.
I joked about you could go on a pub crawl of coffee shops, might be a bit wired by the end of the day….
Wow. This is amazing Erin. You are a pillar in this community. We are blessed to have you do all you do to promote our vibrant town. You photos and blog posts are award-winning. Thank you. Happy Holidays.
Thank you, happy holidays.
I shared this post on my Facebook page. I love this awesome blog. Thank you for helping my celebrate a place that I love!
I really enjoy your posts about events happening in town. My brother and I enjoyed the fall photo walk . What a cool giveaway!!
So glad you joined the photo walk….
I love your blog! I started reading it before we moved up to learn about the area. I love all the ways you highlight local businesses and great things to do around town. We’ve now been here four years and I’m happy to call this place home ❤️
Merry Christmas Julie, so glad we’ve finally met in real life 🙂
Erin you are amazing. Thank you for all you do for the community. Your blog is the place to go to know what’s happening in Nevada County.
The basket is amazing and generous. ❤️
Merry Christmas Karen, thank you.
Your posts inform me of so much that is going on in our community, a community we all love. The generosity of people who live here is beyond comprehension.
Thanks my friend!
Live the free produce giveaways from your

Outside Inn is our favorite place to stay when visiting Nevada City, in all seasons. We especially love the fall colors and Victorian Christmas! I love following all the blog posts throughout the year! Thank you!
Thank you, happy holidays.
Share the fab giveaway!
I love all of your posts and photos! One of my favorite, National Coffee Day, since I love coffee and you highlighted all the coffee shops around town You contribute so much to our community and we are so grateful!
Thank you, and how can you not celebrate coffee?
I love how involved in local happenings your blog is. It’s often easy to forget all the amazing things happening in our area.
I agree.
I always follow the Outside Inn to learn more about new, local businesses. Erin, you really have you finger on the pulse of this community and I love that you are a supporter of every other local business. The Outside Inn is my resource for learning about new shops and restaurants. I know if you’re giving it two thumbs up, it’s a place I need to try for myself.
Man, that’s a lot of pressure… hope I don’t send you to somewhere that doesn’t meet your expectations….
Shared on Facebook too of course!
I so enjoy all your wonder posts about upcoming events in our special little town and the beautiful quality of the pictures that you share makes me want to visit even though I live here. Thank you for all you do!
We’re local and read and save your posts as they’re such a great resource for what’s going on in the area. Thank you Erin and happy holidays!
I love all your posts & photos but I particularly like the National Coffee Day because I love coffee and you highlighted all the coffee shops in the area. You contribute so much to this community by posting your blog and hosting the numerous events at your campground and we are so grateful.
I love this blog! Thank you for sharing all the fun events upcoming in this lovely town. Without you, I wouldn’t know about most of these things! As a person who doesn’t have a subscription to the local newspaper, I am so thankful for this blog to fill me in on all the local upcoming happenings. You rock!
I also subscribed via email! Can’t wait for more posts to greet me in my inbox.
I think we can all agree on loving the stunning, crisp, dynamic photos of events, food, stores, and our beloved Yuba on your blog! Visual aids are the most important thing when you’re presenting someone with information; you want to catch their eye and reel them in with fun things to look at! I loved going through this blog and seeing how our Nevada City is captured so simple and elegantly. That’s probably my favorite thing about this blog. I also spent quite some time on your Victorian Christmas page; it’s jam packed with information on food, vendors, performances, and other things to do! There’s not a website or brochure I’ve ever read with as much information on it as your blog posts. For that, I really appreciate it. It’s great to have one source to go to that’s local who provides great reliable information. Anyone who is coming to Nevada County for the first time, I will definitely point them in the direction of the InnTown Campground’s Blog!
Thank you.
I spread the love on Facebook and Instagram!
I love to see all the beautiful photos of our area. Nevada City is so beautiful.
Really great work on the blog and all that you do to keep our community thriving! ❤️
Merry Christmas Penny to you and your family.
I’m totally loving the blog, but I am for sure down with the Nevada County Fair and the FROZEN Tshirt contest! WHAT?!? I am so signing my son up for that – he is always whining about how cold he is!! 😆
This comment made me laugh….
I have just loved learning about all the events and activities in the area. It inspired my husband and I to come and stay in the area last spring for our anniversary.
There are so many things I love about our community!!! I enjoy reading your posts which bring to light how rich in history and beauty we are. I loved your article on the 20th Birthday of the Outside Inn and growing up being part of a historic business. Reminds me that we all have different stories to tell. Of course, one of my favorite parts about living here is the Yuba River. I am a summer lover at heart and I always have a fondness for those articles and photos. https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/
Not to mention some of my other favorites, the Celtic Festival, Nevada County Fair, NC Summer Nights, Hiking Trails……and the art……and the food…….the list goes on.
The list does on, but thank you for taking the time to share some of your favorites. Merry Christmas.
Wow. It hard to believe its nearly 8 years. Nicely done!
I’ve Shared the Love 🙂
Wow, Erin you are amazing. Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful places in our town.
So much thought and love goes into each of your blog posts that I think maybe you should be the one to receive the prize basket this year! I am so appreciative of the work you put into your blog, especially when it comes to fresh ideas for weekend activities or hikes for when family comes to visit from out of town! I enjoyed your blog post about the walks through Nevada City to see the fall colors. Even though I have lived here my whole life I learn something new with each post. Thank you!
Don’t worry, these comments are enough of a gift for me.
Im always so amazed and inspired but all there is to do in our small town! I rely on your blog to know about it all! Thank you!
I subscribed via email! Can’t wait to see more about what’s happening in Grass Valley and Nevada City. Also this giveaway is awesome!
Shared the love on FB!
Oh! Me! Me! Me! Pick me! My favorite part of the blog is the blogger and her husband (okay, their kids are pretty cool too). Good people. Some of the best.
Yeah, don’t forget the kids!
Love, love, love what you do to highlight our little town! The winery is pleased to be part of the giveaway.
Thank you for your contribution, happy holidays.
I just love your blog/instagram for how awesome you are with local festivies and beauty of our small town!
Super cool giveaway. All the business’ were so generous in give stuff for the giveaway
I love all the tips and things you share, especially at xmas time. I owe it to you that I discovered MrcBurneys christmas Tress! https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/mcburney-christmas-trees.htm/
Such a warm inviting little town. Always love to see your posts! You live in a little slice of heaven. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Holidays Erin,
I’ve been enjoying your Blog since we moved here 3 years ago. I could never pick a favorite, they are all wonderful but what really stands out to me is that you include the entire area, not just Nevada City. That says a lot about you and I for one appreciate it.
The Yuba is a definite favorite and I love your fotos, they capture the beauty of it in so many ways.
The fact that so many businesses contribute to your basket says a lot about how respected you are in our communities!
Thank you so much for all you do!
I LOVE the awesome photos that are on your blog posts, your website and on facebook. You are able to truely capture the essence of Nevada City with your beautiful, professional looking photographs and it is truely appreciated!
I also shared this giveaway on FB!
Erin your blog is indispensable for a new resident like myself. I feel more connected to my new community through your many resources and love staying up-to-date on local events and new businesses. Thank you for your creativity and leadership.

We are new to Nevada City, and we love living here, it’s a great comunity!
Welcome, this prize would certainly give you plenty of things to do and explore.
Shared the love on Facebook!
Love love love The Outside Inn! We have a Staycation here about once a year. It is a fabulous place to stay thatbis walking distance to town!!!
I really appreciate your write ups on new places to explore and try out. Recently went to grass valley brewing company based on your write up and had a great time. Also love how well you capture our town with stunning photos. Thanks for being such a great resource to locals and visitors!
So glad to hear, I think of all the other amazing places I should write up about too, so stay tuned for 2019 fun… but always good to hear that folks enjoy it– I mean who can go wrong with craft beer?
just shared via twitter.
This giveaway blows me away every year! Keep up the hard work, Erin!
Merry Christmas Sydney!!!! Wishing you and Skyler well.
I love the blog and I especially love the photography, yours and your guest photographers – nice work all season!
Thanks… I love that I can include other folks on the blog from time to time too, there’s so much beauty to share in our community. Happy holidays.
I have loved reading your coverage of local downtown events on this blog! I’m glad others are reading, so you are encouraged to continue. Thank you!
There are so many local events (I’m thinking of all our small town parades), but it is nice to remind folks of some of the fun in our own backyard. Happy holidays.
What an incredible prize! I love the stunning photography on the blog.
Thank you.
Erin, Thank You for continuing to provide so much wonderful information in your blog! Info about businesses, events, activities, community and varying degrees of history. And your wonderful photos that accompany each blog, makes us feel a part of the activity, even if some folks can’t participate. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year season!
It’s funny… because sometimes I feel the exact same way– some of the summer activities which happen in the midst of very busy campground season, I rely on a collection of photos to feel a part of the fun, even if I too can’t be there. But I try… happy hoildays!
The Fall Walks blog post this year has such gorgeous photos and really helped inspire my dad to get out on walks to enjoy the fall colors! Thank you for showcasing so many of the places and events that make our home so special!
So glad to hear it, it was fun to have folks join us for the Folk Trails and photo walks– especially those who travelled from outside of the area. Sometimes I forget that I actually inspire folks to come play.
Well, I think my favorite blog was the one about coffee…and I’m always loving your pictures that are so early of downtown that there aren’t any cars in the photos! I also am grateful that not only do you promote local businesses, you also support them (I’m a beer tender at one of the breweries you grab a beer at.) thank you for all you do!
Can’t go wrong with local coffee, especially when there are so many amazing options. Downtown Nevada City without cars if obviously something that appeals to me (it helps that I live in town). And cheers for the beer (you must be thinking of my husband, as I don’t actually drink beer, but he does!).
I love the pictures on your blog! I feel like they always capture a slightly different perspective of the area, but I’m a totally recognizable way! Thanks for what you do!
Happy holidays Rosie… I appreciate that- -b/c sometimes I think I’ve done it all, what’s actually new.
I had stayed at the Outside Inn and fell in love with the Nevada City community.
Eric’s notices and beautiful photos keeps the community well informed about the many wonderful events, which bring our community together. Erin provides a great service for us all.
Thank you, happy holidays.
Erin, I love your photos of our sweet little town. Fall blogs are my favorite. Your give away is more amazing than ever. I love being apart of this community.
Thanks, fall is one of my favorite times of the year too… and I too can’t believe how much this giveaway has grown. Happy holidays.
What a wonderful treasure box of local gifts! I love all of your photos. I am always finding new things to do in the area via your Instagram , and blog. The winner of this giveaway will be a very lucky person.
Lucky indeed… counting the hours till we get to find out who…. happy holidays.
I personally loved the blog on art shows and of course, Victorian Christmas!! My husband and I love the Outside Inn and try to visit every year at least once!
There are so many amazing art shows and I’m a fan of supporting the artisans and getting people to buy unique gifts, so I’m glad you appreciated it.
Also shared on Facebook!
As a relative newcomer of 1 year to the are – I have relied on the Outside Inn Blog – much as I would a great friend – to teach me about the goings on around town! Thank you for being so welcoming and informative.
Happily! Glad to hear we’ve been able to help get to know your new community, happy holidays.
We visit Nevada City all the time! We come from the Truckee area and love the vibes of Nevada City! Having found your blog I love that there is a place for me to check out what is going on so we have an excuse to come again! Your post on Kid friendly activities from June 2018 is especially wonderful as we always have our little man in tow! Thanks for all the info!
Glad to hear, hope you had some fun adventures.
Also shared the love on Instagram!
I so appreciate your blog posts – especially those with “kid-friendly activities.” My favorite of favorites is your summer activities post. I would say I share that one the most each year.
Always good to know… I’m going to work on the 2019 version, as I’ve gotten some great feedback.
Liked and shared!! Thanks for putting this together – so fun.
This giveaway gets bigger each year! Love the Yuba River posts and the pics of Victorian Christmas. It’s now become tradition and nostalgic. It’s not a holiday or a summer without them!
It’s funny b/c I really feel like I go to the river so little (compared to my guests at the motel and the campground), but glad to know that even my few photo agendas are well received. And I agreed, you need a photo of Cindy, the walking Christmas tree, to complete your holiday check list.
Retweeted. @sandvlifelived
Perfect for anyone of any age to enjoy the outside inn. The area is timeless but contemporary. So much to do and yet new experiences are just around the corner.
Can’t wait to see what’s around that corner, happy holidays.
Subscribed via email. I love seeing all the incredible experiences our community has to offer. Sometimes our corner of the world feels small, but it is making amazing things happen all the time. Thank you for shedding light on what makes Nevada County wonderful.
I feel that way too– having recently traveled abroad, that our little world is small, but when you come back home I remember that’s why I live in a small town and how wonderful it is. Happy holidays.
Hi! Your blog does such a wonderful job capturing the beauty of Nevada City and Grass Valley. We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community. I must say- there is a tie between which photographs are my favorite. One being the picture of the purple leaves on the wandering paths post. Secondly- I love the one of Victorian Christmas with the street lit up in the background. There is something truly magical about Nevada City during Christmas. Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on what is going on in the community. You do a fantastic job.
I’m okay with not just picking one…. here I am thinking how am I going to write my best of post– never be able to pick just one… Happy holidays.
I love all of your posts, they’re so informative, especially the up-coming events posts. Thank you!
Working on ways to help include more upcoming events… but the Pinterest board is always a good resource.
Shared the love on Facebook as well!
I love your blog to keep me updated on the life of Nevada City since I live far away. Thank you!
So glad to hear, a little window into our world….
This giveaway is amazing, Erin! I am always amazed at how you know about everything that’s going on and how much energy and support you give the community.
I love how beautiful the yuba is this time of year. No one is out there and yet the river is super full and there is life everywhere. I also love SPD sandwiches. Xoxoxoxox
What a fabulously original answer, SPD sandwiches 🙂 Happy holidays.
I moved to Sacramento just over a year ago, and had never been to Nevada City…till I stumbled on your Instagram feed. I believe it was a post about a hike, sometime in August. I visited for the first time soon after, on Labor Day weekend, and fell in love. And I find no shortage of reasons to keep coming back on your Insta feed and blog. Thank you for sharing your lovely mountain town!
So great to hear…. and I love how the mysterious internet sends you down rabbit holes… always great when it’s something that leads to fun adventures.
Thank you for your very informative blog showcasing all the wonderful happenings in our area!
If only I could cover them all!! Happy holidays.
Erin, what a great service you do for our community!! Thank you for always promoting our events!
Thank you.
Erin, I have been an admirer since the beginning. I love what you do for the little town of NC to keep it enchanting and downright awesome! I especially love the photos you take of the Yuba. This post of such is my favorite: https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/south-yuba-river-swimming.htm/. NC holds such a special place in my heart. So much so, that my husband and I got married up there, are NC Winery members, and spend every weekend we can up there. We stop into the shops and say “hi” because we know the owners and shop personnel. We feel the sense of community. We know the locals. That’s something we never have had in the town we currently live we. We can’t tell you enough how much we love NC for its sense of community and small town vibe. I guess this post was supposed to be about the Yuba and the gorgeous photos you capture of it. But it’s so much more. Thank you Erin. Keep doing what you are doing to promote and advocate for NC, the Yuba, and for community. We love you! Xo Robert and Elizabeth
Smiling. These are the sort of responses that I love hearing… because while I feel this way about our small town, it’s always nice to know that folks, even those who don’t live here, feel that way too. Thank you. And thanks for your cheerleading online!!!
Dear Outside Inn,
Every time I read your posts, I want to go visit you. That’s correct, I have not been to your lovely Inn. My husband and I have been to Nevada City thanks to the movie, “Christmas Card”. Since then I have followed Nevada City news/events but have only attended the Victorian Christmas which I absolutely love. In visiting the Nevada City FB page, I believe It’s been a year, I came across your Outside Inn post. Since then i have followed your FB page and read your posts. You bring such comfort with your pictures and descriptions of the lovely “Outside Inn” and the area—it’s like a fairytale place. I’m not there yet and i feel the warmth and coziness. I hope to visit you someday in the near future. Thank you for sharing pictures of your sweet Outside Inn, the beautiful nature around you and the cute little town of Nevada City.
Thank you, happy holidays.
I’ve enjoyed how the photography captures the essence of our sweet town. There is something for everyone weather you’re young or old, lived here a long time or new to the area. Thanks
I agree!
I love the blog about the yuba river, it is my fVorite thing about living in Nevada City. I like the choose your own adventure it really is for all people!
I tell that to our guests all summer long, “choose your own adventure”– happy holidays.
Shared the love on Facebook
When ever we have out of town guests I always refer to you for the happenings. I love following you on Instagram for all your beautiful photos and updates of new stores and restaurants. You keep me in the know of our cute towns. Thank you
Happy holidays… man I try… but there’s always something happening. Can’t wait to see what fun I get up to in 2019.
What I love most about the blog is the person who writes it. Hi Erin!
Hi Cathy! Thank you for your contributions to the blog over the years, missing my “yes” girl to new adventures, come back!!!!
Erin, where do I begin? I love any and all of your photos, mostly of the Yuba.
As a previous business owner I believe you truly are Nevada County’s Ambassador! Thank you for all you do!
FYI: this is a first time for me to actually enter, after years of donating;) xo
You know you could’ve entered in years past– that’s part of the terms of donating (no excluding the wonderful contributors). But cheers to you and all you have done for Nevada County and your constant support of me.
What I love most about this blog is that it shares just how great the community is in Nevada City and in the surrounding areas. It’s the reason that people like me, who aren’t from or even live there, have fallen in love with the city, it’s people/businesses. It’s why my husband and I got married there. Coffee at Fable, lunch at Three Forks, a cold beer at Ol’ Republic, a film at the Onyx, mass at St. Canice and dessert at Treats. Small town America at its finest.
This makes me smile… I love it…. so glad you can enjoy Nevada City for all that we have to offer. And that sounds like a delightful day in Nevada City!
Shared on Instagram & FB!
I always love a good yube river or fall colors post. The photo walks are always great too. Hoping I can make it out to one of those soon.
We’ll have the 2019 schedule soon, excited to get out and take photos with more folks.
This is incredible! We certainly do have an amazing and beautiful community here. We are so lucky to call this place home. What I love about your blog most, is the kid friendly posts. I plan out all of our holiday activities through you!! Seriously! Also, I look to the blog for info on all the new restaurants that are opening up lately and plan date nights with my husband. I really loved your article on “National coffee day” in September…there were coffee shops on the list that I had yet to visit! (Which is pretty astonishing). There’s no better source of information on what’s goin down in our little town than from your lovely posts. Thank you, for helping to keep us all better connected.
Keep an eye out for the new restaurant round up, there are some amazing new ones.
Erin, I love your genuine passion and appreciation for this community. It is easily seen in your work, business, photography, even this giveaway. I truly enjoy your posts, and appreciate how much hard work you put into this giveaway. Thank you! And I look forward to many more years of your photography and give aways 😉
Thank you!
I spend many hours sitting backstage in a circus tent in Vegas waiting to go onstage and make people laugh. So, how to spend my time between acts? Looking at this blog is one of my many pastimes. I miss my home. I miss trees. I miss the river. I miss Victorian Christmas. I miss Nevada County. This blog makes me happy so I can go out and do the same for others.
I can totally see you decked out in one of your amazing outfits ready to entertain the crowds scrolling through these posts… thinking of you and wishing you and your family a fabulous holiday.
I just found out about this blog but I love that you share so much great info bringing the community together!
Thanks! Plenty to read in the archives if you want to dig deeper.
And I subscribed!
What don’t I like about your blog?!! It introduced me to the magical and sublime that is Nevada City, current home of my heart and (hopefully) real home of my future. I think that what I love most about the blog is seeing Nevada City through the eyes of someone who clearly feels deeply about the community and nature and beauty of it all. Your rootedness and love are reflected in every blog and Instagram post.❤️ Thank you. Headed to Victorian Christmas this weekend, and I cannot wait!!
I love the word rootedness…. what a beautiful description of my blog. Happy holidays.
You are such an important part of this community. I appreciate your passion to share your love of your home town! Your pictures often help me see familiar places in a new light. Thank you for all that you do to connect us all.
Thanks Celine, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
You keep us all well-informed about upcoming events, scenic locales and fun things to do. Plus, your photos are beautiful–you must be an early riser to get some of the shots, like the one above of the basket of goodies you’re giving away.
Thanks Hindi, I appreciate your continual support. And thanks to Kial from Nevada City Scenics for capturing that photo.
Liked and shared on Facebook.
I love learning about local events from the blog and seeing all of the beauty of our town captured through the images you share. Thank you for what you do!
Thanks Lynn, and thanks to all that you do for the youth of Nevada County.
I love the children’s section (https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/things-to-do/kid-friendly-activities/) most, as I am always trying to look for new things for my kids to do around town! Thanks you!
Also, I really enjoyed the list of restaurants you’ve included in the giveaway, it’s inspiring me to try some places my husband and I havebe been yet! Thanks!
It would be fun to eat your way through Nevada City, you could start with several coffee options, lunch at Ike’s, a mid afternoon pick me up at one of the coffee shops, dinner at Three Forks or Bistro 221… you’re going to have to spread it out, too many food options in one day (imagine if you then went to Treats AND Nevada City Chocolate Shoppe for dessert!).
I have lived here most of my life and your blog still provides information on events I didn’t know about or reminds me of ones I went to as a kid that would be fun to take my granddaughter to now. My favorite blog was the Happy August one with the gorgeous pictures of the Yuba River. It reminded me to take some time out of a busy life and go splash around in the water. https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/
Thank you… August is a busy time for both businesses.. so it’s a good reminder for me too.

This blog is such a great resource for our community and the visitors who come here. Not only is it well written, warm, and informative, but the photos are sensational. Thank you, Erin, for contributing so much to our community!
I have said this before, but I always appreciate being able to visit your blog to find out what is going on in and about town. I’ve lived here for 35 years but sometimes even I forget all this wonderful place has to offer! Thank you for always giving great insight into what’s new and beautiful about our little town.
Fall in Nevada City is one of the things that has kept me around so long. Every year I’m in awe, like it’s the first time I’ve seen the colors. Thank you for highlighting the season every year with your fall walk photos!
https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/fall-walks-2.htm/
We are so lucky to live in such an incredibly beautiful corner of the planet, and to have you here with us!
Happy holidays! I loved your pre-giveaway excitement on Instagram…
I love that you do this every year and I love that I get to participate as part of our awesome community!
I love that you helped motivate me to get my butt in gear on getting the goodies, I need folks like you! Merry Christmas and thanks for being a part of the giveaway.
I love how you always pull the community together and showcase the local artists. Nevada City is truly a mecca for artists and independent types . I still have hopes of us buying one of those quirky Victorians one day and moving up there. For now, it’s just day trips every once in a while. I’m in the process of finishing my van, so a camping trip in the spring is on the horizon also . I follow you on Instagram also, and the photo of the street in the morning with the gifts just caught my eye. Great photo, wonderful giveaway. Of course I’m crossing my fingers! Thank you for organizing this and thank you to all the businesses that contributed, the list is amazing. Hoping to make it to Victorian Christmas this year, maybe I’ll stop in and say hi .
My favorite part about the blog is how it’s always on top of local events! It’s such an amazing resource for the comunnity. ❤️
I love our community and the Outside Inn’s beautiful photographs!
Shared on facebook!
I love your blog because even though Ives lives here for 8years I can always find a new local event or place to visit that I wasn’t aware of. You do a great job of showcasing everything local and I always reccomend your blog for friends and family that are visiting or new to the area.

What a giveaway! You do an amazing job of showcasing our community. Your posts inspire me to get out more and check out all the great things to see and do. Thanks for always showing the positive side of our hometown. We are lucky to have you. I also shared this on Facebook.
Being positive is part of my mission statement, I always tell my friends if they want to really know what happens behind the scene at the motel or the campground they have to buy me a glass of wine (life isn’t always Instagram worthy). But, the blog is a great opportunity to set aside some of those day to day struggles and focus on what’s important and brings me joy.
Love our historic towns of NC & GV!!! We are a magical place to live or visit! Thank you for all you do!
Magical is a great word choice, I feel that way often– and I’ve lived in Nevada City for a long time.
Thanks for all the information about our little sweet town and to promote small business in our area!
Small businesses are so key to our community (as a small business owner), I love it when we can all work together.
This is my first time coming across this blog and after moving here 3 years ago I feel like this is my missing link to becoming more connected and aware of the community!!! Thank you!!! I don’t quite yet have a favorite because I have some catching up to do but I will follow up as soon as I can! Thank you thank you!!!!!
Your amazing photography always does justice to the unique attributes of Nevada City and the county as a whole. Love them and this blog!
Thank you Liz, happy holidays.
Hey Erin!
Great gift basket this year; I really enjoy seeing the community coming together to contribute! I enjoyed this blog post: https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/grass-valley-holiday-market.htm/ and loved walking around and browsing through all the handmade goodness!
I’ve also shared this giveaway on The Rambling Gals Instagram!
Thank you! So glad to hear you enjoyed the GV shopping and thanks for the social media shout out.
I really appreciate the Outside Inn blog for beautiful photos of local sites and events. This is my go to when work takes me away from home and I want to stay connected. It would be impossible to suggest a single photo but I do love all the images of my favorite local event the SYRCL Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival. Thanks for showing the beautiful of your area!
Picture of troll booth @ Children’s Festival…our all time favorite event of the year.
I think you are the only one who said that… bonus points for original answer! Happy holidays, here’s to hoping you win the tickets to The Children’s Festival 🙂
I love your blog! I’ve been following the Outside Inn since my family moved here in 2012. It was so helpful for us to find our way around this little town. All the hiking spots and fun events. So very grateful. We used to stop in the Inn to get maps of local hikes and river spots. Thanks to you, we never miss out on events and know our way around pretty good now!
I love knowing that folks have been following along for that long…. I actually almost cringe at some of the earlier posts, but you’ve gotta start somewhere, right? And I’m glad you took advantage of the maps, we’re always happy to help.
Go Nevada County!!
Thanks Andrew and thanks again for your donation of camera bags for our photo walks.
Hey Erin! Love the outside inn and all your blog posts! I really like your post about the south yuba river. Love all the photos! I’m in Nepal right now so I love getting just a taste of home
Wow, I think you win the prize for the furthest away!
Just subscribed to your email list!
I have always adored this city and just how amazing the community is to contribute to things like this. I think you guys have such a wonderful group going. I loved reading about Victorian Christmas and I cant wait to go for the first time. Shared this on facebook as well and whoever wins will be a very lucky person. Thank you for the opportunity!
Reading the blog keeps me informed of the many activities in the area. Our family has made the short trip up here for many of the fun events highlighted. Such a wonderful community. Also shared to Facebook. We have brought friends with us on several of these outings and will continue share the joy that this town provides.
Erin, you have outdone yourself! What a wonderful collection of gifts highlighting so much of what this community has to offer. One of my friends asked me, “How do you know so much about what’s going on around here? You’re always going to this and that — where do you get your information?” and I told her, “Erin Thiem’s blog.” You do keep us informed and I know that takes a lot of work and a lot of dedication — and I, for one, appreciate that immensely!
I shared — with gratitude.
What an amazing giveaway! I love seeing photos of our beautiful area 🙂
I love how you support local businesses. You always take time to feature them!! You’re great at keeping us (readers) informed about local activities.

The thing I enjoy most about your blogs are the reminders of events that I forget are happening! So much goes on here that it’s good to be reminded sometimes 🙂
Amazing gift basket you have here! Such a great example of what this community is all about. Have a merry Christmas!
I agree… what a showing for our community.

Victorian Christmas is a fun one!
Your blog is my go-to when I am looking for events in our community. You do such a wonderful job of keeping everyone in the loop on the latest and greatest this town has to offer. Its people lime you who make this world go round.

First off your photography of the town is beautiful. My favorite thing about the blog is how much work and effort you put in to go to all the new shops and promote them.
You do a wonderful job of making every new shop seem exciting and I know those business owners appreciate all the business they receive from your posts.

I have enjoyed watching the transformation of the Inn over the years and contributing to the veggie baskets out front during the summer
The veggie cart is one of my favorite things, because it’s truly a gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving. The folks who drop off, the folks who collect and the continued cycle… and it’s not just summer- just had a huge drop off of persimmons, so come by any time, you never know what you’ll find.
I always enjoy your blog, it keeps me informed of what’s happening around town. Merry Christmas!
Thank you Erin for all the hard work, time and energy, you put into sharing every single event throughout the year! And a HUGE thank you for this amazing giveaway!
Thanks Heather! Cheers. And I promise I don’t get every single event.

I absolutely LOVE that I randomly just discovered your Blog this morning and your connection to Inn Town Campground! Some weekends I am just sitting around thinking there is nothing to do and then you remind me I couldn’t be more wrong! Thanks for connecting so many people in our sweet community.
It’s funny because I sit around and know how much is going on and just accept that I can’t do it all (or am working), so love to know that I am inspiring others. Happy holidays. If you don’t get the email make sure you clicked on the email verification.
This is so cool! My sister and I stopped in Nevada city on our way hike from Tahoe in August and I’m so happy we did! We had a fabulous coffee at the cute little coffee shop and then walked over to Main Street and checked out the cand store ( my sons favorite) and kitkitdizzi. What a fabulous shop! So many beautiful things to purchase. I can’t wait to bring my husband and come back and visit this place.
Well this prize would give you plenty of reasons to visit! Happy holidays.

The Outside Inn’s InnSide Nevada City blog is charming, up to date and has a lot of great information. I learned about the kid friendly holiday events blog. This is fantastic and I am so glad this blog is available. I can take my grandkids to see how the Grinch Stole Christmas story time December 21st at 7 and 7:30 pm with a special appearance by the Grinch and Max!
My Favorite Photo of course is the one below, absolutely gorgeous!

As a relative newcomer, I just discovered this blog and ALL it has to offer! Thank you so much for helping to make this community, this county, so very special and welcoming! Happy Holidays!
Thank you, so glad you’re finding it useful and welcoming.
I lived up the street from the Outside Inn and was so excited when I saw the vegetable baskets – take some/leave some. It’s a beautiful place.
Thank you, it’s always a fun community share with the free veggies.
Thank you, Erin for all you do to support local community AND have two+ businesses of your own. We all love what you do.
Thank you!
What a wonderful giveaway! A true testament to you Erin and the Outside Inn! I live your blogs, because even though I’ve lived here for almost 14 years, I still learn something new – tips for good hikes, events, places to adventure to. I’m grateful for that, for you and for this area that we now call home. As my son says, “Why would I ever choose to live anywhere else?”
I think your son is on to something! Happy holidays.
Erin,
What I love best about your posts is your photography. Clear and enchanting visual perspectives on our home reel me in to read your posts! Plus, your work on the blog is a master class in marketing: creative, resourceful, generous, consistent, and genuine.
Thank you Judith, that means a lot coming from you.
What I love about your blog is that not only do you celebrate our wonderful community, you bring it together! And you have a great eye, your photos are terrific.
I try… and this post is an amazing showcase of that… thank you for recognizing that. Happy holidays.
Nevada City is like walking into a Hallmark movie. Thank You for keeping all of us posted on the fun events going on in this Beautiful City. I grew up here, and cherish all the memories of how lucky I am to of grown up here. Now we live in Alta, and Thank You for keeping us posted on what is going on. Merry Christmas
It’s funny b/c we definitely get visitors from the Hallmark movie that was filmed in Nevada City. Happy holidays.
My husband and I were able to find a weekend to go check this place out. I was in love with it and want to see in different seasons. It was the first place we checked out in the area. I am already trying to figure what else I can do up there historical places, events, and more hikes. As well as get to explore the store more.
So many…. happy hunting!
Nevada City is an incredible place to live and play, especially if you enjoy small towns with a big heart! So many wonderful things to do, explore, and shop local. We are so lucky:)
Very big heart! Happy holidays.
It’s community minded business owners, like those of the Outside Inn, that make Nevada City and Grass Valley such a vibrant, sharing and caring community! Thank you, Outside Inn for showing the world what a great place this is to live!
I can only take so much credit… but it does take a village and it’s always awesome when folks support each other. Happy holidays.
Just “liked” your FB page, glad to be one of your friends now!
What a great way to represent and draw people to this great town! Love the giveaways!!!
What’s not to love?!
When we found out we were moving to the area a couple months ago I found your blog and Instagram and both made me really excited to become a local! Thanks for all the great info and pics of shops and businesses and events, it has made our transition so much smoother 🙂
That’s such a lovely thing to read… because I sometimes have no idea. Hope the new area is what you’re looking for, happy holidays.
First, I love the Outside Inn and I know out-of-towners who wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
Second, your blog is a great resource for tourists and locals alike! Gives the Chambers of Commerce a run for their money.
I’m happy to let the Chambers do their jobs, I have no interest in organizing Victorian Christmas or the 4th of July parade, but it’s always fun to give a shout out to the amazing things to do in our area– and not all of them are businesses.
Love the photography being born/raised here!
Merry Christmas
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love learning about all of the fun things happening in magical Nevada City. You are the best resource for that. Also love your suggestions for outdoor, kid friendly activities… like swimming in the Yuba! Duh! Happy holidays!
It’s great to hear how much the kid friendly info is appreciated, I’m going to keep that in mind going forward.
Yay! So excited, every year I look forward to this and how many people are involved. I love you blog because all the dates for events new and old in town are in one easy to reach place! It’s a simple factor but important!
I also went to uncorked this year because of you post and it was so much fun 🙂
Thank you and merry Xmas!
Cheers! Can’t go wrong with a wine event! Happy holidays.
I love all the info about events! I’m just outside of the area so I love getting info about things happening in town!
Plenty of reasons to come into town.
What I love about your blog is that you so actively promote the wonder and beauty of Nevada City and it’s surroundings with lovely photos and descriptions of how magical it is. Thanks for supporting the community, and for continuing your giveaway each year.
It is amazing that this giveaway keeps growing, it surprises me too!
Shared to Facebook- I could happily live in your Cottage!
This is a great site for all of us who live and or work in this wonderful little Nevada City. We moved here from the Los Angeles area to escape the concrete jungle. We have 10 acres and built our own home for our boys to enjoy. Thank you for starting up this blog and I am sorry I am just getting on board.
There’s no reason to be sorry… and the great thing about a digital resource, you can find anything you want in the archives (although I don’t recommend going too far back, as the blog has gotten better with age).
Thanks for the wonderful photos and info about local sites and events! I suggest folks check out the Osborn Woods Gallery in the Miners Foundry (osbornwoodsgallery.com) for great work by local artists.
I completely agree!!
My husband and I are new to Nevada County and we find this contest amazing! Truly speaks volumes about our community, the merchants and each other. That’s why we love it here!
I find this contest amazing too… and I grew up here too.
I have lived in Nevada County my whole life and thus blog continually shows me new ways to love my hometown. I spent my first semester away from home this year and the photography on this blog made me feel a little less homesick in the past few months. Thank you for always reminding me of the great town that I come from.
That’s so amazing to hear…. happy holidays.
Outside Inn is epic…not just the blog posts, which are generally really informative and interesting, but just the vibe! The Facebook page for the in town campground is especially epic. I love the showcasing of trailers and the events you have put together!
I love that you like our vibe… I always tell people that none of my social media is accidental, there’s a thought behind it all, so glad to hear it’s resonating. Happy holidays.
Shared the love!
Love the blog, provides great ideas and tips on things to do in this lovely county.
