Holiday Giveaway
The Outside Inn’s InnSide Nevada City blog is excited to share our end of the year giveaway! All year long I showcase, spotlight and share exciting things to do in Nevada City and Grass Valley. It’s hard to believe I started this blog just shy of 8 years ago! The Grand Giveaway, Grateful Giveaway, Ultimate Giveaway, Epic Giveaway, the Crazy Giveaway, InnSide Nevada City giveaway were a lot of fun; if you have time I highly recommend reading the comments. This year the crate has grown to include 73 different businesses and is valued at $3495. Can I say, yet again, how amazing our little town is? The time I spent reaching out to local businesses and organizations leading up to this giveaway really reminds me how fabulous our community is and how thankful I am to call this place home. When we opened the Inn Town Campground 2 years ago, I really grew to understand that its success is due in large part to the support of our entire community. This year the collection of goodies means even more to me, because it really showcases how many businesses, organizations and individuals are excited to be a part of the blog and to join together to highlight our area. This prize is a really great, over the top way to say thank you to the entire community.
One extremely lucky person is going to win this entire box full of prizes. Scroll down for the complete list of what’s included. How do you enter to win this amazing basket of Nevada County goodness? Add a comment to this blog post and tell me what you love about the Outside Inn’s InnSide Nevada City blog? Do you have a favorite post? Do you have a favorite photo? Do you have a favorite local event? Did you learn something new this year from the blog? Feel free to add a link in your comment to one of your favorite blog posts or photos. You can always look back through the blog with the search box in the footer of the website. The winner will be announced at noon on Christmas Day. Thank you for showcasing and honoring the cultural creatives in our community, and for being a local’s resource as well as one for tourists.
Thank you! Cultural creatives… what a great description! Happy Holidays.
It was my joy to meet you and your husband on a photo walk of Malakoff Diggins and surrounding area. Your posts and photos are most relevant to our community. Thank you, Ty
Thanks for joining us on the photo walk.
My husband and I recently moved to Penn Valley and are enjoying exploring our new surroundings. We read about Erin’s blog and the holiday giveaway in the paper this morning. What a great resource for learning more about what Nevada City/County has to offer. Thank you!
Thanks for joining in on the fun, it was nice of The Union to give a shout out to this community love fest.
LOVE your blog. Have enjoyed all you do for our community.
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love Nevada City, and grew up in the area, attending Nevada Union. I moved out of the area for a bit but am so happy to be moving back soon. There is always something fun going on.
Indeed! Hope that your return goes smoothly.
Holy moly, Erin! You’ve really outdone yourself this year. What an amazing package of goodies. Thanks for all you do for our little town. It wouldn’t be the same without you.
Thanks Marjorie, I do love that the giveaway grows with time…. but it’s truly just a great example of our small town love! (It’s not me, I swear, I just get the pleasure of sharing it with others).
You rock! I look forward to your blog posts, and you let me know via email when you’ve posted, so that’s great! The photographs are beautiful and make me thankful that I live in such a beautiful place with wonderful people! Thank you for sharing the beauty and wonder!
Beauty and wonder is a great way to describe it… I just returned from a trip of wandering around Paris and it was literally all about exploring beauty and wonder– but there is so much we can do here in our own backyards and sometimes traveling that far away is a great reminder! Happy Holidays.
Thank you so much for hosting the post Halloween cemetery walk. So cool and informative.
I agree, even though I did that Folk Trails Hike both years, I learned something new on both times! And events like that always amaze me that folks travel from out of the area to be a part of it.
I learn about so many events through the blog, I’ve lives here almost all my life and it still surprises me how many events I don’t know about. However my favorite thing about Nevada city is Halloween! Seriously, it’s magical ✨
While I feel like I have to admit that Halloween isn’t my favorite event of the year (the clean up work is a bit daunting), I do love that the town gets so into the spirit and that the entire motel is full of guests who come from afar to be a part of the fun.
OMG Erin. This gets better and better every year. I love seeing some old favorite stores contributing to this and the new ones too. Some serious local love goes into this giveaway. Thanks for reminding me throughout the year about the amazing events our community offers as well as places to explore. Love everything about your blog including the photography. Thanks for showcasing our wonderful area.
I love that you chime in throughout the year, so even if we don’t cross paths in real life that often, I know that you’re thinking of me…. so thanks for being a consistent cheerleader.
Shared the love!
Shared on Facebook and Twitter!
I love everything about this blog, but I especially appreciate the events and new restaurants postings. Thank you for contributing so much to the community and beyond!
Oh man, I’m behind on the restaurants– really need to eat my way through more of the amazing offerings in Nevada County. Perhaps we should encourage the restaurants to reach out to me directly? But, on the short of places I have not covered and should: The Ol Republic Roadhouse, The Pour House, Wild Eye Pub, Watershed at the Owl, Tara, MeZe, The Stonehouse…. to name a few. You see how I have more work cut out for me?
I grew up in Los Angeles and did not experience seasons in any real way throughout my childhood. After living here for 18 years, I remain totally enchanted and delighted by fall in the foothills. The crisp air, stunning foliage, change of seasons, and excuse to pull out my boots combine to make me a very happy camper. Your Fall blog with gorgeous local photos and cool info on local walks and tree viewing is wonderful.
What I love is that even though I grew here in Nevada City I fall in love with the town every year at that time– the colors are so much fun to see. And even though I know which trees I love seeing, every year I get excited by them again. Happy holidays, so glad to hear it inspired you to get out and enjoy the colors.
Wow. Erin is a busy girl. Nice job. The Nevada City Outside Inn Chamber of Chamber of Commerce.
It’s such a great opportunity to reach out to the community businesses and organizations… but yes, I was a bit busy…. Happy Holidays!
Erin, we just love your blog, we have learned a lot about the area and have adjusted our camping trips accordingly. I think we have only gone to only one other campground this entire year. For me, I like the info on the breweries (GVB for one) and the kids events. We brought our grand daughter up for the Halloween event and in the past the Easter egg hunt. She was supposed to come up with us later today for the Christmas events as we will be camping but she’s a little under the weather. She loves the trains so that was going to be her day. One of my favorite pictures you took was on the South Yuba River post, the one with the flowers in the foreground with the river in the background. I like trying to get those kinds of shots but I rarely get the colors all to cooperate like that. Thanks for the blog and see y’all later today!
Oh, the Santa event the railroad museum is a fun one, I’m sorry she’ll miss it (although it can be rather crowded, so maybe a visit another time is for the best). Look forward to having you return, thanks for your consistent support (and awesome decorated RV sites).
I love your photos. Also, I like that you have local walks leaving from the Outside Inn highlighting the beauty of where we live in different seasons. Thank you.
The series of local walks with Folk Trails Hiking Club has been fun (we’ve got one more for this year next Thursday). But stay tuned for the 2019 series (we did them starting from the Inn Town Campground in the summer).
Yes! I love to see all of the local fun and delish offerings here and on your blog throughout the year – thank you for putting this together and for keeping our inboxes full of beautiful pics of this sweet place.
Thanks Meshawn…. and if you recruit your friends to play along and win, you can celebrate YEAR ROUND!
Erin, you are amazing! This basket is such a testament to both you and the amazing creative spirit and generosity of our community. I think that’s what I love most about your blog – you’re such a great supporter and celebrator of who we are! I’ll share now on our FB page, and of course, I want to win the basket!
Thanks for everything you do!
Shana
Thanks Shana…. I was thinking of you b/c I went to Paris and when I told someone about the amazing almond croissant I had someone asked, “Did it compare with Three Forks’ croissants?” That, in itself is a compliment that I think you should take seriously.
I love this blog to keep me informed of events happening in and around Nevada City!
Thanks! If only I could actually keep on top of all the things that happen, but it is fun to give a shout out to as many as I can.
I think what inspires me most, Erin, is your absolute passion and joy of living here, and sharing it with all of us. I get a lot of my local information from your blog posts, and I enjoy reading about our fantastic little town. We are truly blessed to live here. Thank you for all that you do and keep the inspiration!
It’s a genuine passion, so I’m glad you appreciate it. Happy holidays.
Just shared the love on FB! ❤️
Shared this great blog on my Facebook page!
I love reading your posts and blogs they share what’s happening around town and the pictures are amazing 🙂
Thanks, it seems for a small town there’s always something happening!!! Happy holidays.
I shared the love
How can one choose? All the photos are fabulous. And your blog posts keep me in the loop of what’s happening. After living there for 20 years (and working at j.j.jackson’s for Martha Meredith) I still love being in the know and visit every year.
The store owners are a very generous lot (Leea, Stuey, LeeAnne……). I would love to win so I could share some of the gifts with all my old friends in NC and GV. Or better yet with some Fire refugees that are in need of some joy.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
You don’t actually have to choose one, I’m okay with that. It’s truly a giveaway that could give and give and give, so how fabulous that you would share the love. Happy holidays.
I love learning about local events in town that previously weren’t on my radar!
Me too! That’s the crazy thing is that I’m learning at the same time. Now if only we could all find the time to do all of the events?
I love your posts. Your pictures always remind me of why I love and live in this beautiful little town. I signed up for your emails so I don’t miss any posts. Thank you for all that you do.
Thank you…. happy holidays.
Love how involved you guys are with all things Nevada City. I alway appreciated being able to pickup my CSA box from you !!
Thanks, we try. And yes, we were happy to be a Mountain Bounty CSA host for many years. I’m still a subscriber, even if we are no longer the hosts…. But don’t worry the free veggie stand is still at the motel.
I have been two inntown twice and have enjoyed both times tremendously. I love Nevada city for its natural wonders, such as the hiking! Can’t wait to go back.
Always great to hear, look forward to having you return.
As a newer arrival to the area I love learning about places, events and people in this community. The photos are great too!
Welcome to the area!
I just love all the great ideas you have regarding what to see and where to look.
Loved the fall color session! I am a member of the Nevada City Lions club and just love to help this beautiful town. Thanks for all you do!
Can’t beat Nevada City fall colors, truly one of my favorite times of the year.
Always love your photos Erin. You helps us enjoy each season and moment in Nevada City. Thank you
I’m not sure I can take on the responsibility of helping you enjoy every moment in Nevada City, but I do love all the seasons too.
New to Nevada City in 2017, my first order of business was to Find The Hikes. I thought I had done good coverage until I found this blog. The amazing pics on this site sent me down trails I would never have found on my own. The guided walks added layers of meaning and appreciate for buildings and streets I walk past daily. More importantly, through this blog I found my community. My adventures are more social than solo these days. In short, InnSide Nevada City gave me what I craved the most: Belonging.
Beautiful…. so happy to hear this…. I’m so glad you found the right people.
I love our little town and all of the photos and upcoming events that you post!
Thank you! Happy holidays.
Love getting updates about what is going on in Nevada City! I think my favorite one is “Top 5 Dog Friendly Restaurants”. We used to live in Nevada City and so enjoy our return trips. We travel with our dogs and your blog posts about the dog friendly restaurants, the trails, activities, etc. has been so very helpful! Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Oh, I should do more on dog friendly activities.. it wasn’t actually a blog post, but a page on the Things to Do section of the website (but a blog post is a great idea!). Happy Holidays.
I shared the love! Thank you for doing this each year!
I love the images you use–they often speak for themselves. They always highlight our community in such a wonderful way and remind me why I love it here.
Thanks Melinda for all that you do for this community.
Erin, you ROCK, thank you for another yearlong posts of all the new and interesting places to go and business that are opening, among so many other things that you do for our community. AND thank you for including my art as part of your offering. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
R
Thanks for being a part of it– I realize that the actual painting was too large, but glad to have a smaller representation of your artistic fun in the mix.
What an epic giveaway and what a fantastic way to showcase all the hometown Love! My favorite post was from Instagram and highlighted the spectacular fall colors we get to enjoy around town. This particular post was of a tree in the neighborhood that I see every day on my drive into town and back home. One of my favorite fall splendors: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo0LuN7AQdN/
Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you– and I love that tree too…
This is quite the amazing show of our community and it’s fantastic efforts to work together! The Outside Inn has always been such a wonderful part of Nevada City for as long as I can remember! My favorite blog posts are any and all about the Yuba river! The photos always bring me to the grandeur of the river and remind me once more how lucky I am to live here!
We’ve been in business for 20 years- amazing to think about how long that is… But I too feel lucky to live here, thanks for playing along with this giveaway.
You know I love the blog! I’ve been subscribed for a long time on the email list and I’m always reading what’s new and current and what’s happening in town. My favorite from this year was https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/nevada-city-kid-friendly-activities.htm/ with a four year old I feel like were always doing the same things each week espically in the summer so I loved this article and found new things to do with my little. Photos are always amazing and I love how extremely active you are in our community! Thanks for keeping us all up to date Erin and always sharing the love!
Thank you for your consistent enthusiasm and I love that you’ve won plenty of things over the years (I realize this giveaway takes the cake, but the little ones are still fun too).
Shared the love on facebook!
What a wonderful give away Erin! I have always wanted to have a stay-cation at the Campgrounds!
Well in addition to the Staycation you could go eat, shop and enjoy events throughout the year… but a staycation is always a good option….(in my slightly biased opinion).
Erin, there is enough in this giveaway to have a whole stay-cation with food, movies and shopping included! Thank you. I just shared the post on Facebook!
I love all the photos, especially the river pictures. This blog is also the best (in my opinion) way to find out what is going on in town!!
Thanks! And I appreciate the positive feedback on the photos of the river, as there’s always a healthy balance of respecting Mother Nature and reminding folks to do their part to pack it in and pack it out (or carpool, etc).
I often find my way to the blog via instagram posts and I am always delighted by what I find. It would be hard to choose a favorite. I don’t live locally, but my mother does and I love finding fun events to use as an excuse to visit her as well as spend time in such a beautiful and unique area. I have fallen so in love with Nevada City/Grass Valley and I love to share that love with others. So much so in fact my now husband and I just got married this past year in the area. I sincerely appreciate this blog for constantly keeping me informed about such a special place in my heart. Thank you!
Congrats on your wedding and I love that my posts inspire you to come visit and enjoy our community.
I especially appreciate the blogs about local hiking trails – I’m always looking for a new place to hike and your descriptions and information are always helpful. I read every blog and always get new info.
Thank you, always good to get a reminder to #OptOutside!
Community, history, home town feels and the never ending love that exudes from this romantic little town.
Romantic little town…. I think of all the non Instagram worthy moments in a small town, the good, the bad and the sometimes ugly, but I love the idea of never ending love.
It isn’t often that I open and read every email from a blog subscription, but I can’t risk missing something wonderful you’re sharing about our lovely, engaged, and unique little community. Thanks as always for your great contributions, Erin!
Thank you! And as I said before, I love that we live in a small enough town that you don’t think I’m total weird for wishing you condolences for your dog at the farmers market.
I love learning about everything our local community has to offer, beautiful sites, events and local shops!
There are some great shops, it’s high on the re-do list for 2019.
I shared on Facebook!
I love this Blog. I moved to Nevada City from Seattle 2 years ago and I haven’t found anything better than shows local events and gives background. Also, I work right by the in-town campground get to walk through there often. Nicest campground I’ve ever been to. 🙂
Thanks, welcome to Nevada City.
Because this blog shows your incredible love and cultivation of community!
Thanks Lisa.
Signed up for email!
I say this every year I can’t live in my hometown, your blog connects me to home, and to reminders of the place that shaped me, even when I’m far away. It also keeps me up-to-date on changes to look for when I visit, which is often. Thanks for your great photos and I’m pretty keen on your Insta feed. @outsideinn
Thanks Tyson… I think that I forget how many Nevada County natives feel that way and this post is a nice reminder of that.
Thanks Erin! Shared on FB. Love your posts as always 🙂 best resource in town. Happy Holidays.
Thanks Krystle, and always with you I love that you saw the potential in me years ago!
I shared the good cheer on Instagram! Thanks again.
We recently stayed in the Cottage at the Outside Inn, and I had planned to go several places in and around Nevada City you had highlighted on your blog. But when we checked in, we noticed a paper in your display rack of activities describing locations where the Hallmark Christmas Card movie was shot. It’s my parent’s favorite Hallmark movie of all, so we had a total blast visiting the different locations with them, taking pics, and chatting with all the friendly business proprietors. And we are still enjoying the delicious bags of coffee we purchased at Crumbunny Coffee. Thank you for a lovely experience, we would love to return.
This is awesome!!! Thanks so much for sharing. Happy holidays.
Shared!
I love to show visitors your blog to show off our beautiful area!
Great way to get them to come visit.
I love how the blog tells the ongoing story of Nevada City. The town is truly a jewel in the Sierras. My wife and I have had the chance to visit twice since October, staying at the Inn Town Campground, our new favorite. It is hard to describe the charm and feeling of peace around the town, but I think the Outside Inn blog captures the essence perfectly. We want to keep coming back to experience all of the wonderful things we keep reading about, the Yuba River in the summer, colors of the fall, all the deliciousness the farmers’ market has to offer… Keep up the great work!
That sounds like a great plan!!!!
Thanks for showcasing one of my favorite little cities! We love every local business we’ve visited.
Way to shop local.
Oh my gosh!!! Your posts and pictures always make me feel like I’m there even when I can’t be. Keeping me informed and updated has actually allowed me to attend and plan my day trips (and a few weekend trips) around what’s going on. Love the pictures!!! Your blog makes me feel like I’m part of your amazing community up there!!
Well I’m glad you feel welcomed, I tell that to people all the time at both the motel and the campground, that we want you to feel a part of our community. So I’m glad the blog helps with folks who are only just coming for the day.
That’s quite a list of prizes!
Long time follower of your blog, and I especially appreciate all the news you share with us about local events and businesses! Many times I learn about a new shop that opened up that I wouldn’t otherwise have known about, or a fun happening in our area that I would not have been aware of! Thanks for all you do!
And I love that you’ve won goodies over those years… to help motivate you to go participate in some of the fun events/shops. Happy holidays!
What’s not to love about where we call home? Beauty abounds. Love all of our festivals, street fairs and feel of community.
Thanks… I feel the same way.
Hey Erin – amazing basket! You are a poster child for community spirit. My favorite thing about your blog is seeing photos of everyone having fun. Also wondering how you manage to do it all.
Wait… you’ve been in the blog before– so you can count yourself as someone who’s been having fun…. I don’t get it all done, that’s the running joke.
Yay! Crossing my fingers :)))
And toes….
Also I’m sharing on IG!
What a great giveaway!!! I love this time of year, and your blog has been so helpful in letting me know what’s happening always and the dates for events! I follow you on Instagram also and can see what’s locally going on through you since you’re so informative. In the past we’ve found hiking trails and attended events like Victorian xmas. 🙂
I try… but chuckling at one of the posts where I got the dates wrong for an event, great thing about that is that I have lovely readers who tell me and then I can go fix it online 🙂
Wowza, what a gift box! Someone’s going to have a lot of fun when they win this! I really like your blog, and love how I find myself forwarding your posts often to friends and family who are coming to visit Nevada City – I can say, “look, this cool concert series is happening, or this cool downtown event,” and they can get excited about going! Thanks for your work! – Maisie
A gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving.
Fabulous information and photos. It is great to have such a wonderful go to, to find upcoming events! The basket is perfectly put together! Thank you!
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love this blog and how it highlights different events and businesses locally!
There’s so much to spotlight!
I’ve never before lived in a town with such community spirit. Nevada City is my home and I’m proud to be a part of our town! As others have commented, thanks for all you do to foster the feeling of oneness in Nevada City.
Fostering the feeling of oneness… that’s a lovely compliment, thank you.
I liked the national coffee day post because coffee is my life blood! This pictures made me want to get cozy in one of our many great coffee shops and settle in for a long time! We are lucky to have some great coffee shops in our town.
I joked about you could go on a pub crawl of coffee shops, might be a bit wired by the end of the day….
Wow. This is amazing Erin. You are a pillar in this community. We are blessed to have you do all you do to promote our vibrant town. You photos and blog posts are award-winning. Thank you. Happy Holidays.
Thank you, happy holidays.
I shared this post on my Facebook page. I love this awesome blog. Thank you for helping my celebrate a place that I love!
I really enjoy your posts about events happening in town. My brother and I enjoyed the fall photo walk . What a cool giveaway!!
So glad you joined the photo walk….
I love your blog! I started reading it before we moved up to learn about the area. I love all the ways you highlight local businesses and great things to do around town. We’ve now been here four years and I’m happy to call this place home ❤️
Merry Christmas Julie, so glad we’ve finally met in real life 🙂
Erin you are amazing. Thank you for all you do for the community. Your blog is the place to go to know what’s happening in Nevada County.
The basket is amazing and generous. ❤️
Merry Christmas Karen, thank you.
Your posts inform me of so much that is going on in our community, a community we all love. The generosity of people who live here is beyond comprehension.
Thanks my friend!
Live the free produce giveaways from your

Outside Inn is our favorite place to stay when visiting Nevada City, in all seasons. We especially love the fall colors and Victorian Christmas! I love following all the blog posts throughout the year! Thank you!
Thank you, happy holidays.
Share the fab giveaway!
I love all of your posts and photos! One of my favorite, National Coffee Day, since I love coffee and you highlighted all the coffee shops around town You contribute so much to our community and we are so grateful!
Thank you, and how can you not celebrate coffee?
I love how involved in local happenings your blog is. It’s often easy to forget all the amazing things happening in our area.
I agree.
I always follow the Outside Inn to learn more about new, local businesses. Erin, you really have you finger on the pulse of this community and I love that you are a supporter of every other local business. The Outside Inn is my resource for learning about new shops and restaurants. I know if you’re giving it two thumbs up, it’s a place I need to try for myself.
Man, that’s a lot of pressure… hope I don’t send you to somewhere that doesn’t meet your expectations….
Shared on Facebook too of course!
I so enjoy all your wonder posts about upcoming events in our special little town and the beautiful quality of the pictures that you share makes me want to visit even though I live here. Thank you for all you do!
We’re local and read and save your posts as they’re such a great resource for what’s going on in the area. Thank you Erin and happy holidays!
I love all your posts & photos but I particularly like the National Coffee Day because I love coffee and you highlighted all the coffee shops in the area. You contribute so much to this community by posting your blog and hosting the numerous events at your campground and we are so grateful.
I love this blog! Thank you for sharing all the fun events upcoming in this lovely town. Without you, I wouldn’t know about most of these things! As a person who doesn’t have a subscription to the local newspaper, I am so thankful for this blog to fill me in on all the local upcoming happenings. You rock!
I also subscribed via email! Can’t wait for more posts to greet me in my inbox.
I think we can all agree on loving the stunning, crisp, dynamic photos of events, food, stores, and our beloved Yuba on your blog! Visual aids are the most important thing when you’re presenting someone with information; you want to catch their eye and reel them in with fun things to look at! I loved going through this blog and seeing how our Nevada City is captured so simple and elegantly. That’s probably my favorite thing about this blog. I also spent quite some time on your Victorian Christmas page; it’s jam packed with information on food, vendors, performances, and other things to do! There’s not a website or brochure I’ve ever read with as much information on it as your blog posts. For that, I really appreciate it. It’s great to have one source to go to that’s local who provides great reliable information. Anyone who is coming to Nevada County for the first time, I will definitely point them in the direction of the InnTown Campground’s Blog!
Thank you.
I spread the love on Facebook and Instagram!
I love to see all the beautiful photos of our area. Nevada City is so beautiful.
Really great work on the blog and all that you do to keep our community thriving! ❤️
Merry Christmas Penny to you and your family.
I’m totally loving the blog, but I am for sure down with the Nevada County Fair and the FROZEN Tshirt contest! WHAT?!? I am so signing my son up for that – he is always whining about how cold he is!! 😆
This comment made me laugh….
I have just loved learning about all the events and activities in the area. It inspired my husband and I to come and stay in the area last spring for our anniversary.
There are so many things I love about our community!!! I enjoy reading your posts which bring to light how rich in history and beauty we are. I loved your article on the 20th Birthday of the Outside Inn and growing up being part of a historic business. Reminds me that we all have different stories to tell. Of course, one of my favorite parts about living here is the Yuba River. I am a summer lover at heart and I always have a fondness for those articles and photos. https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/
Not to mention some of my other favorites, the Celtic Festival, Nevada County Fair, NC Summer Nights, Hiking Trails……and the art……and the food…….the list goes on.
The list does on, but thank you for taking the time to share some of your favorites. Merry Christmas.
Wow. It hard to believe its nearly 8 years. Nicely done!
I’ve Shared the Love 🙂
Wow, Erin you are amazing. Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful places in our town.
So much thought and love goes into each of your blog posts that I think maybe you should be the one to receive the prize basket this year! I am so appreciative of the work you put into your blog, especially when it comes to fresh ideas for weekend activities or hikes for when family comes to visit from out of town! I enjoyed your blog post about the walks through Nevada City to see the fall colors. Even though I have lived here my whole life I learn something new with each post. Thank you!
Don’t worry, these comments are enough of a gift for me.
Im always so amazed and inspired but all there is to do in our small town! I rely on your blog to know about it all! Thank you!
I subscribed via email! Can’t wait to see more about what’s happening in Grass Valley and Nevada City. Also this giveaway is awesome!
Shared the love on FB!
Oh! Me! Me! Me! Pick me! My favorite part of the blog is the blogger and her husband (okay, their kids are pretty cool too). Good people. Some of the best.
Yeah, don’t forget the kids!
Love, love, love what you do to highlight our little town! The winery is pleased to be part of the giveaway.
Thank you for your contribution, happy holidays.
I just love your blog/instagram for how awesome you are with local festivies and beauty of our small town!
Super cool giveaway. All the business’ were so generous in give stuff for the giveaway
I love all the tips and things you share, especially at xmas time. I owe it to you that I discovered MrcBurneys christmas Tress! https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/mcburney-christmas-trees.htm/
Such a warm inviting little town. Always love to see your posts! You live in a little slice of heaven. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Holidays Erin,
I’ve been enjoying your Blog since we moved here 3 years ago. I could never pick a favorite, they are all wonderful but what really stands out to me is that you include the entire area, not just Nevada City. That says a lot about you and I for one appreciate it.
The Yuba is a definite favorite and I love your fotos, they capture the beauty of it in so many ways.
The fact that so many businesses contribute to your basket says a lot about how respected you are in our communities!
Thank you so much for all you do!
I LOVE the awesome photos that are on your blog posts, your website and on facebook. You are able to truely capture the essence of Nevada City with your beautiful, professional looking photographs and it is truely appreciated!
I also shared this giveaway on FB!
Erin your blog is indispensable for a new resident like myself. I feel more connected to my new community through your many resources and love staying up-to-date on local events and new businesses. Thank you for your creativity and leadership.

We are new to Nevada City, and we love living here, it’s a great comunity!
Welcome, this prize would certainly give you plenty of things to do and explore.
Shared the love on Facebook!
Love love love The Outside Inn! We have a Staycation here about once a year. It is a fabulous place to stay thatbis walking distance to town!!!
I really appreciate your write ups on new places to explore and try out. Recently went to grass valley brewing company based on your write up and had a great time. Also love how well you capture our town with stunning photos. Thanks for being such a great resource to locals and visitors!
So glad to hear, I think of all the other amazing places I should write up about too, so stay tuned for 2019 fun… but always good to hear that folks enjoy it– I mean who can go wrong with craft beer?
just shared via twitter.
This giveaway blows me away every year! Keep up the hard work, Erin!
Merry Christmas Sydney!!!! Wishing you and Skyler well.
I love the blog and I especially love the photography, yours and your guest photographers – nice work all season!
Thanks… I love that I can include other folks on the blog from time to time too, there’s so much beauty to share in our community. Happy holidays.
I have loved reading your coverage of local downtown events on this blog! I’m glad others are reading, so you are encouraged to continue. Thank you!
There are so many local events (I’m thinking of all our small town parades), but it is nice to remind folks of some of the fun in our own backyard. Happy holidays.
What an incredible prize! I love the stunning photography on the blog.
Thank you.
Erin, Thank You for continuing to provide so much wonderful information in your blog! Info about businesses, events, activities, community and varying degrees of history. And your wonderful photos that accompany each blog, makes us feel a part of the activity, even if some folks can’t participate. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year season!
It’s funny… because sometimes I feel the exact same way– some of the summer activities which happen in the midst of very busy campground season, I rely on a collection of photos to feel a part of the fun, even if I too can’t be there. But I try… happy hoildays!
The Fall Walks blog post this year has such gorgeous photos and really helped inspire my dad to get out on walks to enjoy the fall colors! Thank you for showcasing so many of the places and events that make our home so special!
So glad to hear it, it was fun to have folks join us for the Folk Trails and photo walks– especially those who travelled from outside of the area. Sometimes I forget that I actually inspire folks to come play.
Well, I think my favorite blog was the one about coffee…and I’m always loving your pictures that are so early of downtown that there aren’t any cars in the photos! I also am grateful that not only do you promote local businesses, you also support them (I’m a beer tender at one of the breweries you grab a beer at.) thank you for all you do!
Can’t go wrong with local coffee, especially when there are so many amazing options. Downtown Nevada City without cars if obviously something that appeals to me (it helps that I live in town). And cheers for the beer (you must be thinking of my husband, as I don’t actually drink beer, but he does!).
I love the pictures on your blog! I feel like they always capture a slightly different perspective of the area, but I’m a totally recognizable way! Thanks for what you do!
Happy holidays Rosie… I appreciate that- -b/c sometimes I think I’ve done it all, what’s actually new.
I had stayed at the Outside Inn and fell in love with the Nevada City community.
Eric’s notices and beautiful photos keeps the community well informed about the many wonderful events, which bring our community together. Erin provides a great service for us all.
Thank you, happy holidays.
Erin, I love your photos of our sweet little town. Fall blogs are my favorite. Your give away is more amazing than ever. I love being apart of this community.
Thanks, fall is one of my favorite times of the year too… and I too can’t believe how much this giveaway has grown. Happy holidays.
What a wonderful treasure box of local gifts! I love all of your photos. I am always finding new things to do in the area via your Instagram , and blog. The winner of this giveaway will be a very lucky person.
Lucky indeed… counting the hours till we get to find out who…. happy holidays.
I personally loved the blog on art shows and of course, Victorian Christmas!! My husband and I love the Outside Inn and try to visit every year at least once!
There are so many amazing art shows and I’m a fan of supporting the artisans and getting people to buy unique gifts, so I’m glad you appreciated it.
Also shared on Facebook!
As a relative newcomer of 1 year to the are – I have relied on the Outside Inn Blog – much as I would a great friend – to teach me about the goings on around town! Thank you for being so welcoming and informative.
Happily! Glad to hear we’ve been able to help get to know your new community, happy holidays.
We visit Nevada City all the time! We come from the Truckee area and love the vibes of Nevada City! Having found your blog I love that there is a place for me to check out what is going on so we have an excuse to come again! Your post on Kid friendly activities from June 2018 is especially wonderful as we always have our little man in tow! Thanks for all the info!
Glad to hear, hope you had some fun adventures.
Also shared the love on Instagram!
I so appreciate your blog posts – especially those with “kid-friendly activities.” My favorite of favorites is your summer activities post. I would say I share that one the most each year.
Always good to know… I’m going to work on the 2019 version, as I’ve gotten some great feedback.
Liked and shared!! Thanks for putting this together – so fun.
This giveaway gets bigger each year! Love the Yuba River posts and the pics of Victorian Christmas. It’s now become tradition and nostalgic. It’s not a holiday or a summer without them!
It’s funny b/c I really feel like I go to the river so little (compared to my guests at the motel and the campground), but glad to know that even my few photo agendas are well received. And I agreed, you need a photo of Cindy, the walking Christmas tree, to complete your holiday check list.
Retweeted. @sandvlifelived
Perfect for anyone of any age to enjoy the outside inn. The area is timeless but contemporary. So much to do and yet new experiences are just around the corner.
Can’t wait to see what’s around that corner, happy holidays.
Subscribed via email. I love seeing all the incredible experiences our community has to offer. Sometimes our corner of the world feels small, but it is making amazing things happen all the time. Thank you for shedding light on what makes Nevada County wonderful.
I feel that way too– having recently traveled abroad, that our little world is small, but when you come back home I remember that’s why I live in a small town and how wonderful it is. Happy holidays.
Hi! Your blog does such a wonderful job capturing the beauty of Nevada City and Grass Valley. We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community. I must say- there is a tie between which photographs are my favorite. One being the picture of the purple leaves on the wandering paths post. Secondly- I love the one of Victorian Christmas with the street lit up in the background. There is something truly magical about Nevada City during Christmas. Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on what is going on in the community. You do a fantastic job.
I’m okay with not just picking one…. here I am thinking how am I going to write my best of post– never be able to pick just one… Happy holidays.
I love all of your posts, they’re so informative, especially the up-coming events posts. Thank you!
Working on ways to help include more upcoming events… but the Pinterest board is always a good resource.
Shared the love on Facebook as well!
I love your blog to keep me updated on the life of Nevada City since I live far away. Thank you!
So glad to hear, a little window into our world….
This giveaway is amazing, Erin! I am always amazed at how you know about everything that’s going on and how much energy and support you give the community.
I love how beautiful the yuba is this time of year. No one is out there and yet the river is super full and there is life everywhere. I also love SPD sandwiches. Xoxoxoxox
What a fabulously original answer, SPD sandwiches 🙂 Happy holidays.
I moved to Sacramento just over a year ago, and had never been to Nevada City…till I stumbled on your Instagram feed. I believe it was a post about a hike, sometime in August. I visited for the first time soon after, on Labor Day weekend, and fell in love. And I find no shortage of reasons to keep coming back on your Insta feed and blog. Thank you for sharing your lovely mountain town!
So great to hear…. and I love how the mysterious internet sends you down rabbit holes… always great when it’s something that leads to fun adventures.
Thank you for your very informative blog showcasing all the wonderful happenings in our area!
If only I could cover them all!! Happy holidays.
Erin, what a great service you do for our community!! Thank you for always promoting our events!
Thank you.
Erin, I have been an admirer since the beginning. I love what you do for the little town of NC to keep it enchanting and downright awesome! I especially love the photos you take of the Yuba. This post of such is my favorite: https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/south-yuba-river-swimming.htm/. NC holds such a special place in my heart. So much so, that my husband and I got married up there, are NC Winery members, and spend every weekend we can up there. We stop into the shops and say “hi” because we know the owners and shop personnel. We feel the sense of community. We know the locals. That’s something we never have had in the town we currently live we. We can’t tell you enough how much we love NC for its sense of community and small town vibe. I guess this post was supposed to be about the Yuba and the gorgeous photos you capture of it. But it’s so much more. Thank you Erin. Keep doing what you are doing to promote and advocate for NC, the Yuba, and for community. We love you! Xo Robert and Elizabeth
Smiling. These are the sort of responses that I love hearing… because while I feel this way about our small town, it’s always nice to know that folks, even those who don’t live here, feel that way too. Thank you. And thanks for your cheerleading online!!!
Dear Outside Inn,
Every time I read your posts, I want to go visit you. That’s correct, I have not been to your lovely Inn. My husband and I have been to Nevada City thanks to the movie, “Christmas Card”. Since then I have followed Nevada City news/events but have only attended the Victorian Christmas which I absolutely love. In visiting the Nevada City FB page, I believe It’s been a year, I came across your Outside Inn post. Since then i have followed your FB page and read your posts. You bring such comfort with your pictures and descriptions of the lovely “Outside Inn” and the area—it’s like a fairytale place. I’m not there yet and i feel the warmth and coziness. I hope to visit you someday in the near future. Thank you for sharing pictures of your sweet Outside Inn, the beautiful nature around you and the cute little town of Nevada City.
Thank you, happy holidays.
I’ve enjoyed how the photography captures the essence of our sweet town. There is something for everyone weather you’re young or old, lived here a long time or new to the area. Thanks
I agree!
I love the blog about the yuba river, it is my fVorite thing about living in Nevada City. I like the choose your own adventure it really is for all people!
I tell that to our guests all summer long, “choose your own adventure”– happy holidays.
Shared the love on Facebook
When ever we have out of town guests I always refer to you for the happenings. I love following you on Instagram for all your beautiful photos and updates of new stores and restaurants. You keep me in the know of our cute towns. Thank you
Happy holidays… man I try… but there’s always something happening. Can’t wait to see what fun I get up to in 2019.
What I love most about the blog is the person who writes it. Hi Erin!
Hi Cathy! Thank you for your contributions to the blog over the years, missing my “yes” girl to new adventures, come back!!!!
Erin, where do I begin? I love any and all of your photos, mostly of the Yuba.
As a previous business owner I believe you truly are Nevada County’s Ambassador! Thank you for all you do!
FYI: this is a first time for me to actually enter, after years of donating;) xo
You know you could’ve entered in years past– that’s part of the terms of donating (no excluding the wonderful contributors). But cheers to you and all you have done for Nevada County and your constant support of me.
What I love most about this blog is that it shares just how great the community is in Nevada City and in the surrounding areas. It’s the reason that people like me, who aren’t from or even live there, have fallen in love with the city, it’s people/businesses. It’s why my husband and I got married there. Coffee at Fable, lunch at Three Forks, a cold beer at Ol’ Republic, a film at the Onyx, mass at St. Canice and dessert at Treats. Small town America at its finest.
This makes me smile… I love it…. so glad you can enjoy Nevada City for all that we have to offer. And that sounds like a delightful day in Nevada City!
Shared on Instagram & FB!
I always love a good yube river or fall colors post. The photo walks are always great too. Hoping I can make it out to one of those soon.
We’ll have the 2019 schedule soon, excited to get out and take photos with more folks.
This is incredible! We certainly do have an amazing and beautiful community here. We are so lucky to call this place home. What I love about your blog most, is the kid friendly posts. I plan out all of our holiday activities through you!! Seriously! Also, I look to the blog for info on all the new restaurants that are opening up lately and plan date nights with my husband. I really loved your article on “National coffee day” in September…there were coffee shops on the list that I had yet to visit! (Which is pretty astonishing). There’s no better source of information on what’s goin down in our little town than from your lovely posts. Thank you, for helping to keep us all better connected.
Keep an eye out for the new restaurant round up, there are some amazing new ones.
Erin, I love your genuine passion and appreciation for this community. It is easily seen in your work, business, photography, even this giveaway. I truly enjoy your posts, and appreciate how much hard work you put into this giveaway. Thank you! And I look forward to many more years of your photography and give aways 😉
Thank you!
I spend many hours sitting backstage in a circus tent in Vegas waiting to go onstage and make people laugh. So, how to spend my time between acts? Looking at this blog is one of my many pastimes. I miss my home. I miss trees. I miss the river. I miss Victorian Christmas. I miss Nevada County. This blog makes me happy so I can go out and do the same for others.
I can totally see you decked out in one of your amazing outfits ready to entertain the crowds scrolling through these posts… thinking of you and wishing you and your family a fabulous holiday.
I just found out about this blog but I love that you share so much great info bringing the community together!
Thanks! Plenty to read in the archives if you want to dig deeper.
And I subscribed!
What don’t I like about your blog?!! It introduced me to the magical and sublime that is Nevada City, current home of my heart and (hopefully) real home of my future. I think that what I love most about the blog is seeing Nevada City through the eyes of someone who clearly feels deeply about the community and nature and beauty of it all. Your rootedness and love are reflected in every blog and Instagram post.❤️ Thank you. Headed to Victorian Christmas this weekend, and I cannot wait!!
I love the word rootedness…. what a beautiful description of my blog. Happy holidays.
You are such an important part of this community. I appreciate your passion to share your love of your home town! Your pictures often help me see familiar places in a new light. Thank you for all that you do to connect us all.
Thanks Celine, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
You keep us all well-informed about upcoming events, scenic locales and fun things to do. Plus, your photos are beautiful–you must be an early riser to get some of the shots, like the one above of the basket of goodies you’re giving away.
Thanks Hindi, I appreciate your continual support. And thanks to Kial from Nevada City Scenics for capturing that photo.
Liked and shared on Facebook.
I love learning about local events from the blog and seeing all of the beauty of our town captured through the images you share. Thank you for what you do!
Thanks Lynn, and thanks to all that you do for the youth of Nevada County.
I love the children’s section (https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/things-to-do/kid-friendly-activities/) most, as I am always trying to look for new things for my kids to do around town! Thanks you!
Also, I really enjoyed the list of restaurants you’ve included in the giveaway, it’s inspiring me to try some places my husband and I havebe been yet! Thanks!
It would be fun to eat your way through Nevada City, you could start with several coffee options, lunch at Ike’s, a mid afternoon pick me up at one of the coffee shops, dinner at Three Forks or Bistro 221… you’re going to have to spread it out, too many food options in one day (imagine if you then went to Treats AND Nevada City Chocolate Shoppe for dessert!).
I have lived here most of my life and your blog still provides information on events I didn’t know about or reminds me of ones I went to as a kid that would be fun to take my granddaughter to now. My favorite blog was the Happy August one with the gorgeous pictures of the Yuba River. It reminded me to take some time out of a busy life and go splash around in the water. https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/
Thank you… August is a busy time for both businesses.. so it’s a good reminder for me too.

This blog is such a great resource for our community and the visitors who come here. Not only is it well written, warm, and informative, but the photos are sensational. Thank you, Erin, for contributing so much to our community!
I have said this before, but I always appreciate being able to visit your blog to find out what is going on in and about town. I’ve lived here for 35 years but sometimes even I forget all this wonderful place has to offer! Thank you for always giving great insight into what’s new and beautiful about our little town.
Fall in Nevada City is one of the things that has kept me around so long. Every year I’m in awe, like it’s the first time I’ve seen the colors. Thank you for highlighting the season every year with your fall walk photos!
https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/fall-walks-2.htm/
We are so lucky to live in such an incredibly beautiful corner of the planet, and to have you here with us!
Happy holidays! I loved your pre-giveaway excitement on Instagram…
I love that you do this every year and I love that I get to participate as part of our awesome community!
I love that you helped motivate me to get my butt in gear on getting the goodies, I need folks like you! Merry Christmas and thanks for being a part of the giveaway.
I love how you always pull the community together and showcase the local artists. Nevada City is truly a mecca for artists and independent types . I still have hopes of us buying one of those quirky Victorians one day and moving up there. For now, it’s just day trips every once in a while. I’m in the process of finishing my van, so a camping trip in the spring is on the horizon also . I follow you on Instagram also, and the photo of the street in the morning with the gifts just caught my eye. Great photo, wonderful giveaway. Of course I’m crossing my fingers! Thank you for organizing this and thank you to all the businesses that contributed, the list is amazing. Hoping to make it to Victorian Christmas this year, maybe I’ll stop in and say hi .
My favorite part about the blog is how it’s always on top of local events! It’s such an amazing resource for the comunnity. ❤️
I love our community and the Outside Inn’s beautiful photographs!
Shared on facebook!
I love your blog because even though Ives lives here for 8years I can always find a new local event or place to visit that I wasn’t aware of. You do a great job of showcasing everything local and I always reccomend your blog for friends and family that are visiting or new to the area.

What a giveaway! You do an amazing job of showcasing our community. Your posts inspire me to get out more and check out all the great things to see and do. Thanks for always showing the positive side of our hometown. We are lucky to have you. I also shared this on Facebook.
Being positive is part of my mission statement, I always tell my friends if they want to really know what happens behind the scene at the motel or the campground they have to buy me a glass of wine (life isn’t always Instagram worthy). But, the blog is a great opportunity to set aside some of those day to day struggles and focus on what’s important and brings me joy.
Love our historic towns of NC & GV!!! We are a magical place to live or visit! Thank you for all you do!
Magical is a great word choice, I feel that way often– and I’ve lived in Nevada City for a long time.
Thanks for all the information about our little sweet town and to promote small business in our area!
Small businesses are so key to our community (as a small business owner), I love it when we can all work together.
This is my first time coming across this blog and after moving here 3 years ago I feel like this is my missing link to becoming more connected and aware of the community!!! Thank you!!! I don’t quite yet have a favorite because I have some catching up to do but I will follow up as soon as I can! Thank you thank you!!!!!
Your amazing photography always does justice to the unique attributes of Nevada City and the county as a whole. Love them and this blog!
Thank you Liz, happy holidays.
Hey Erin!
Great gift basket this year; I really enjoy seeing the community coming together to contribute! I enjoyed this blog post: https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/grass-valley-holiday-market.htm/ and loved walking around and browsing through all the handmade goodness!
I’ve also shared this giveaway on The Rambling Gals Instagram!
Thank you! So glad to hear you enjoyed the GV shopping and thanks for the social media shout out.
I really appreciate the Outside Inn blog for beautiful photos of local sites and events. This is my go to when work takes me away from home and I want to stay connected. It would be impossible to suggest a single photo but I do love all the images of my favorite local event the SYRCL Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival. Thanks for showing the beautiful of your area!
Picture of troll booth @ Children’s Festival…our all time favorite event of the year.
I think you are the only one who said that… bonus points for original answer! Happy holidays, here’s to hoping you win the tickets to The Children’s Festival 🙂
I love your blog! I’ve been following the Outside Inn since my family moved here in 2012. It was so helpful for us to find our way around this little town. All the hiking spots and fun events. So very grateful. We used to stop in the Inn to get maps of local hikes and river spots. Thanks to you, we never miss out on events and know our way around pretty good now!
I love knowing that folks have been following along for that long…. I actually almost cringe at some of the earlier posts, but you’ve gotta start somewhere, right? And I’m glad you took advantage of the maps, we’re always happy to help.
Go Nevada County!!
Thanks Andrew and thanks again for your donation of camera bags for our photo walks.
Hey Erin! Love the outside inn and all your blog posts! I really like your post about the south yuba river. Love all the photos! I’m in Nepal right now so I love getting just a taste of home
Wow, I think you win the prize for the furthest away!
Just subscribed to your email list!
I have always adored this city and just how amazing the community is to contribute to things like this. I think you guys have such a wonderful group going. I loved reading about Victorian Christmas and I cant wait to go for the first time. Shared this on facebook as well and whoever wins will be a very lucky person. Thank you for the opportunity!
Reading the blog keeps me informed of the many activities in the area. Our family has made the short trip up here for many of the fun events highlighted. Such a wonderful community. Also shared to Facebook. We have brought friends with us on several of these outings and will continue share the joy that this town provides.
Erin, you have outdone yourself! What a wonderful collection of gifts highlighting so much of what this community has to offer. One of my friends asked me, “How do you know so much about what’s going on around here? You’re always going to this and that — where do you get your information?” and I told her, “Erin Thiem’s blog.” You do keep us informed and I know that takes a lot of work and a lot of dedication — and I, for one, appreciate that immensely!
I shared — with gratitude.
What an amazing giveaway! I love seeing photos of our beautiful area 🙂
I love how you support local businesses. You always take time to feature them!! You’re great at keeping us (readers) informed about local activities.

The thing I enjoy most about your blogs are the reminders of events that I forget are happening! So much goes on here that it’s good to be reminded sometimes 🙂
Amazing gift basket you have here! Such a great example of what this community is all about. Have a merry Christmas!
I agree… what a showing for our community.

Victorian Christmas is a fun one!
Your blog is my go-to when I am looking for events in our community. You do such a wonderful job of keeping everyone in the loop on the latest and greatest this town has to offer. Its people lime you who make this world go round.

First off your photography of the town is beautiful. My favorite thing about the blog is how much work and effort you put in to go to all the new shops and promote them.
You do a wonderful job of making every new shop seem exciting and I know those business owners appreciate all the business they receive from your posts.
Awesome giveaway! I love hearing about the local news and events!!

This is such an amazing and generous giveaway, what an awesome way to get to experience more of our beautiful community! I have enjoyed watching the transformation of the Inn over the years and contributing to the veggie baskets out front during the summer
The veggie cart is one of my favorite things, because it’s truly a gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving. The folks who drop off, the folks who collect and the continued cycle… and it’s not just summer- just had a huge drop off of persimmons, so come by any time, you never know what you’ll find.
I always enjoy your blog, it keeps me informed of what’s happening around town. Merry Christmas!
Thank you Erin for all the hard work, time and energy, you put into sharing every single event throughout the year! And a HUGE thank you for this amazing giveaway!
Thanks Heather! Cheers. And I promise I don’t get every single event.

I absolutely LOVE that I randomly just discovered your Blog this morning and your connection to Inn Town Campground! I had no idea you folks have a very cool Motel as well 😀 We are from Sonoma but spend most weekends in Nevada City; it’s become our second home! Looking forward to following your Blog to learn even more about things going on & happenings in the area! Happy Holidays!
I enjoy being reminded of events and spots that I might otherwise forget about in the busy-ness of everyday life.
It’s funny because the blog does the same thing for me… and I’m the one who’s writing it! Happy holidays.
Wow Erin! I love how you showcase our beautiful little community from all of the outdoor activities & our beautiful Yuba to all of the cool eclectic activities. If I didn’t live here already, you’d inspire me to come for a visit and stay in your adorable little inn 🙂
You can always come for a staycation 🙂 But it’s okay, I’m glad you’re enjoying the eclectic activities regardless.

I signed up for the blog via email, didn’t even know that was an option. Thank You so much for all you do. Some weekends I am just sitting around thinking there is nothing to do and then you remind me I couldn’t be more wrong! Thanks for connecting so many people in our sweet community.
It’s funny because I sit around and know how much is going on and just accept that I can’t do it all (or am working), so love to know that I am inspiring others. Happy holidays. If you don’t get the email make sure you clicked on the email verification.
This is so cool! My sister and I stopped in Nevada city on our way hike from Tahoe in August and I’m so happy we did! We had a fabulous coffee at the cute little coffee shop and then walked over to Main Street and checked out the cand store ( my sons favorite) and kitkitdizzi. What a fabulous shop! So many beautiful things to purchase. I can’t wait to bring my husband and come back and visit this place.
Well this prize would give you plenty of reasons to visit! Happy holidays.

The Outside Inn’s InnSide Nevada City blog is charming, up to date and has a lot of great information. I learned about the kid friendly holiday events blog. This is fantastic and I am so glad this blog is available. I can take my grandkids to see how the Grinch Stole Christmas story time December 21st at 7 and 7:30 pm with a special appearance by the Grinch and Max!
My Favorite Photo of course is the one below, absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks for playing along, your favorite photo was taken by my friend Kial, from Nevada City Scenics (shout out to Kial) who also took the photos for this giveaway post. So, it’s a collaboration that helps me show off some of the best of our little town. Enjoy the Book Seller event, sounds like fun.

As a relative newcomer, I just discovered this blog and ALL it has to offer! Thank you so much for helping to make this community, this county, so very special and welcoming! Happy Holidays!
Thank you, so glad you’re finding it useful and welcoming.
I lived up the street from the Outside Inn and was so excited when I saw the vegetable baskets – take some/leave some. It’s a beautiful place.
Thank you, it’s always a fun community share with the free veggies.
Thank you, Erin for all you do to support local community AND have two+ businesses of your own. We all love what you do.
Thank you!
What a wonderful giveaway! A true testament to you Erin and the Outside Inn! I live your blogs, because even though I’ve lived here for almost 14 years, I still learn something new – tips for good hikes, events, places to adventure to. I’m grateful for that, for you and for this area that we now call home. As my son says, “Why would I ever choose to live anywhere else?”
I think your son is on to something! Happy holidays.
Erin,
What I love best about your posts is your photography. Clear and enchanting visual perspectives on our home reel me in to read your posts! Plus, your work on the blog is a master class in marketing: creative, resourceful, generous, consistent, and genuine.
Thank you Judith, that means a lot coming from you.
What I love about your blog is that not only do you celebrate our wonderful community, you bring it together! And you have a great eye, your photos are terrific.
I try… and this post is an amazing showcase of that… thank you for recognizing that. Happy holidays.
Nevada City is like walking into a Hallmark movie. Thank You for keeping all of us posted on the fun events going on in this Beautiful City. I grew up here, and cherish all the memories of how lucky I am to of grown up here. Now we live in Alta, and Thank You for keeping us posted on what is going on. Merry Christmas
It’s funny b/c we definitely get visitors from the Hallmark movie that was filmed in Nevada City. Happy holidays.
My husband and I were able to find a weekend to go check this place out. I was in love with it and want to see in different seasons. It was the first place we checked out in the area. I am already trying to figure what else I can do up there historical places, events, and more hikes. As well as get to explore the store more.
So many…. happy hunting!
Nevada City is an incredible place to live and play, especially if you enjoy small towns with a big heart! So many wonderful things to do, explore, and shop local. We are so lucky:)
Very big heart! Happy holidays.
It’s community minded business owners, like those of the Outside Inn, that make Nevada City and Grass Valley such a vibrant, sharing and caring community! Thank you, Outside Inn for showing the world what a great place this is to live!
I can only take so much credit… but it does take a village and it’s always awesome when folks support each other. Happy holidays.
Just “liked” your FB page, glad to be one of your friends now!
What a great way to represent and draw people to this great town! Love the giveaways!!!
What’s not to love?!
When we found out we were moving to the area a couple months ago I found your blog and Instagram and both made me really excited to become a local! Thanks for all the great info and pics of shops and businesses and events, it has made our transition so much smoother 🙂
That’s such a lovely thing to read… because I sometimes have no idea. Hope the new area is what you’re looking for, happy holidays.
First, I love the Outside Inn and I know out-of-towners who wouldn’t stay anywhere else!
Second, your blog is a great resource for tourists and locals alike! Gives the Chambers of Commerce a run for their money.
I’m happy to let the Chambers do their jobs, I have no interest in organizing Victorian Christmas or the 4th of July parade, but it’s always fun to give a shout out to the amazing things to do in our area– and not all of them are businesses.
Love the photography being born/raised here!
Merry Christmas
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love learning about all of the fun things happening in magical Nevada City. You are the best resource for that. Also love your suggestions for outdoor, kid friendly activities… like swimming in the Yuba! Duh! Happy holidays!
It’s great to hear how much the kid friendly info is appreciated, I’m going to keep that in mind going forward.
Yay! So excited, every year I look forward to this and how many people are involved. I love you blog because all the dates for events new and old in town are in one easy to reach place! It’s a simple factor but important!
I also went to uncorked this year because of you post and it was so much fun 🙂
Thank you and merry Xmas!
Cheers! Can’t go wrong with a wine event! Happy holidays.
I love all the info about events! I’m just outside of the area so I love getting info about things happening in town!
Plenty of reasons to come into town.
What I love about your blog is that you so actively promote the wonder and beauty of Nevada City and it’s surroundings with lovely photos and descriptions of how magical it is. Thanks for supporting the community, and for continuing your giveaway each year.
It is amazing that this giveaway keeps growing, it surprises me too!
Shared to Facebook- I could happily live in your Cottage!
This is a great site for all of us who live and or work in this wonderful little Nevada City. We moved here from the Los Angeles area to escape the concrete jungle. We have 10 acres and built our own home for our boys to enjoy. Thank you for starting up this blog and I am sorry I am just getting on board.
There’s no reason to be sorry… and the great thing about a digital resource, you can find anything you want in the archives (although I don’t recommend going too far back, as the blog has gotten better with age).
Thanks for the wonderful photos and info about local sites and events! I suggest folks check out the Osborn Woods Gallery in the Miners Foundry (osbornwoodsgallery.com) for great work by local artists.
I completely agree!!
My husband and I are new to Nevada County and we find this contest amazing! Truly speaks volumes about our community, the merchants and each other. That’s why we love it here!
I find this contest amazing too… and I grew up here too.
I have lived in Nevada County my whole life and thus blog continually shows me new ways to love my hometown. I spent my first semester away from home this year and the photography on this blog made me feel a little less homesick in the past few months. Thank you for always reminding me of the great town that I come from.
That’s so amazing to hear…. happy holidays.
Outside Inn is epic…not just the blog posts, which are generally really informative and interesting, but just the vibe! The Facebook page for the in town campground is especially epic. I love the showcasing of trailers and the events you have put together!
I love that you like our vibe… I always tell people that none of my social media is accidental, there’s a thought behind it all, so glad to hear it’s resonating. Happy holidays.

Yeah, always good to hear. Our community deserves being promoted!
Erin, I have always appreciated how your blog promotes Nevada County local non-profit projects, events, and causes. Thank you for everything you do!

Wow, another awesome giveaway!

I love finding out about fun local events through your beautiful blog. As a new parent I am so grateful for all of the wonderful kid friendly resources and things to do in this town. We are so fortunate to live in this culturally rich place. thank you!
It is amazing for such a small town! Happy holidays.
The work you do for the county is unmatched. The pic I love the most is the one taken of an empty Broad street. It’s the one I send when someone asks where do I live. They always tell me how lucky I am to live here. And I whole heartily agree with them.
So then they think they’ll have no problem finding a parking spot 🙂 Happy holidays.
Shared and have always liked on Facebook
I’ve shared the love. This is such an incredible giveaway.
I really appreciate this blog to remind me of when all my favorite town events are happening. Sometimes it can be hard to track down all the details and then it is so nice to have them right in my email.
What a great blog! Definitely a go-to for all Nevada County happenings. Thanks, Erin!
What an amazing collection. Have stayed many times at the Outside Inn as a local and with friends.. Its simply an incredible collection.
One of my favorite events in Nevada City is the Friday night French Cabaret at the Nevada City Cafe.
So much local talent
What an awesome giveaway! I love reading about new local treasures that I may not have otherwise heard of!
Victorian Christmas is my favorite event. Thanks for all you do for the community.
It’s a popular event (and not one I can take any credit for), thanks for playing along.

What a wonderful celebration of our community! I especially love your give-and-take vegetable baskets. And I also love your Halloween decorations. And I’ve stayed in one of your beautiful rooms and recommend your place to family and friends. Love, love, love your vibe!
I give thanks to you Erin for your blog because I feel like I am “home again” when I read it. I lived just over the river in the Yuba Foothills for many, many years and Nevada City was always my favorite place to shop, dine, hear music, and immerse myself in the arts. Our family spent many wonderful weekends on the river and trails nearby. Whenever I feel homesick, I just read the blog or check out your latest FB post and photos. Your beautifully written blogs promote the essence of N.C. and attract new generations of admirers to visit and support our businesses and ever-growing cultural/arts events. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones, Erin!
Ahhh… these comments are so amazing, b/c sometimes I truly just feel like I’m talking to myself over here… but I do love the arts and this comment only reaffirms that my genuine interest in supporting the arts is being well received. Happy holidays, thank you for the kind words.
…and I’ve shared your post on my FB page 🙂
My husband grew up in North San Juan and i love seeing your pics of Nevada City and getting a glimpse of his home turf!
Many reasons to come back and visit. Happy holidays.
Erin, I love the creative ways you showcase our community through your photography, blogs, and classy camping opportunities for visitors. And fireside treks at Inn Town Campground are fun for locals, too!
Classy camping opportunities for sure!!! The Fireside Chats were great, look for more info on the 2019 agenda in the new year. Happy holidays.
I love seeing your photography of the area pop up with such beautiful views! Thank you for your support of all the businesses and the spread of information for things to do in the area! I always know where to come and look for ideas!
Thank you– always a fan of sharing the love of other local businesses (although I will be the first admit that the list is long and I can only do so much). Happy holidays.
I love that my lovely sister helps put together this giveaway every year for the town of Nevada City.
Thanks bro.
Thanks for the chance to win such a great basket of fun! Love our town and love your blog! Your pictures always capture the perfect Nevada City!
Thank you! Although I definitely give credit to some of the other amazing local photographers out there… I’m just the silly one who has decided to make it my purpose to write a regular blog. Happy holidays.

Thanks so much for being a great part of our county!
I try… but I really think it’s just a reality that we live in a great place and I get to share that with others.
I’ve recently been watching some of your activities…..so ‘like’ Nevada County to have something like this! With all the difficulties people faced this year (fires and ongoing issue of homelessness), your posts are up lifting.
Thanks
I try to be positive… it’s part of my mission statement actually. But I agree… that it is nice to have a giveaway that’s truly celebrating the community and all it has to offer for free… And if the person wins the baskets and gives it all away, that’s a gift that keeps on giving.
I figured out how to share this on Instagram. I had to create a new category, but I guess it’s a good way to help people figure out how much fun we have in Nevada County.
Kudos my friend, I knew you’d figure it out.
Erin’s photos on all her posts are amazing. Thanks for your blog and reminding us what a great community we live in.
Thank you my friend… and what would I do without you and our menu planning to help feed me and be able to continue to do all the things I want to accomplish?
What I truly love about your blog, is the love it shows and shares for Nevada County. I always know where to look for current events and happenings. Thank you!
Thanks my friend, it’s been a blessing to have folks like you be so supportive for so many years.
I love this blog! It helps keep me up to date and open my eyes to the amazing community and events I live in, and would miss.
I think about how many things I miss on a weekly basis… maybe we need to nominate someone to actually go do all the things…. but it is amazing to think if you had the time (and the resources) how many adventures there are in our own backyard.
Shared you on Facebook !
My favorite thing about your blog is the way you showcase local agriculture! Farmer’s markets, CSA’s and farm events are always highlighted! Thank you!
Well, of course!!! I mean between the Farmers Market, the free veggie stand, the CSAs, the Farm Conference… the U Pick… the pumpkin farms, the Christmas tree farms… obviously there’s plenty! Oh and the Bounty for the County event….
Shared on facebook as well 🙂
Thank you for keeping us up to date with all that is happening in our community.
On our first ever visit to Nevada City we stayed at the Outside Inn, loved our experience and realized that we found our home and community. Keep up the good work.
That’s always great to hear, I love knowing and hearing the stories of how the Outside Inn has been a part of so many people’s lives and stories and connections with Nevada City.
Love the blog, thank you for all you do, keep up the good work.
Thank you, happy holidays.
Thank you for sharing so much with our community.
I feel like I’m just the messenger and appreciate the 70 other businesses who said yes to this giveaway. But thank you, happy holidays.
I shared the love on FB. What a wonderful way to celebrate our amazing community!
Thank you my friend! I shared the love of your business to an out of town visitor to the other day when we were talking about France.
I’ve shared the love on FB (this is my second entry)
Erin,
Having been born and raised in Nevada County, then traveled the world for 30 years……..I am now back home!!! Your blog has been so helpful & inspiring. Your photo’s amazing……and to think that an “long ago native” could taste, see, touch, smell and learn all kinds of new things because of your blog……. and what a great holiday giveaway basket to get reacquainted with Nevada County!!! YIPPEE 🙂 Thank you ~
Welcome back home… although I do understand that concept of taking our home with us on the road, having lived over seas myself. This would be quite the mission to do it all in the fun of getting to know and experience the area… best of luck.
Thank you for hosting a visit from our special needs classrooms.
Of course!!!! Are we talking about the Halloween fun or the visit to the campground? Either way, always great to give back to excited students.

I’ve loved this blog ever since my sister Bonnie told me about it years ago. The attention Erin gives to the community, to all of the small businesses in town, and the fairs, and the artists of all types – is loving and beautiful. Erin, your photography is stunning, and you always make sure to include as many details as you can about the event or the scene…Wonderful, and as I’ve said before, the coolest blog in the county!
I hardly think of myself as cool, but I do appreciate that every time I include you a shout out you get excited. Thank you for donating to the giveaway.
Even after living here 19 years my husband and I still look at each other as we drive around town or back home from a trip elsewhere or take a walk along one of our beautiful trails and say: “and we live here!!!” So grateful to all who make it such a stunning and friendly place, including to you and all the creative vision you have brought through the motel and the campground and support of all the area!
Thank you. You know I have those conversations often in the fall with the colors or the rare days when the snow actually sticks to the trees. Happy holidays.
As a newcomer to the area just 3 years ago, I found the insider information shared on the blog to be indispensable as I navigated my new community. Thank you!
Welcome to the ‘hood. What I tell people is that the blog has helped me too (and I’m not a newcomer in the slightest)– so I promise there are always new things to be learned and fun to be had.
Welcome to the ‘hood. Glad to hear I’m providing some insights and ideas for things to do.
I just shared the LUV on Facebook. This blog is a demonstration of your witty marketing and biz owner ways. It is just the coolest!
Witty marketing… chuckling, that has a nice ring to it. Many thanks for thinking it’s cool 🙂
I love our town and all the great stuff going on.
Me too! Always something.
Well that is an over- the- top give away!
I wasn’t aware you had a blog, but I imagine it’s good just from the few interactions we’ve shared at our children’s school. I have a blog but do not update it very often, though I do share my life via FB and on the website I linked to, my YouTube channel where I have been sharing the cancer journey I’ve been on over the last year. I would love to win the giveaway (as would everyone!) And it’d be especially exciting this year since I’ve been dealing with cancer and cancer therapy and have been dealt a blow financially. I feel bad saying that, but it’s the actual truth! I am going to check out your blog…
Thank you for all you guys do for the community. I certainly have enjoyed seeing your youngest son over the years in the classroom. He’s quite a creative, inventive and curious young man. ☺️ ❤️
Happy Holidays Anitra. I do have a blog, but I’m sorry I haven’t personally mentioned it to you in the years past. Wishing you the very best in these challenging times.
I love the Outside Inn and am proud to call Nevada City home! Erin I especially love your photographs, thanks so much! Of course I’ll share this on my page for another chance at the amazing giveaway!
Thank you! I’m also proud to give credit to some of the talented photographers who’s work I have showcased on the blog over the years, Kial James, Lenkaland Photography, RHM Images… to name a few. But it is a beautiful place to visit, it inspires many!
I love coming here to find out about local happenings, especially kid friendly events such as this post:
https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/kid-friendly-holiday-events.htm/
Thank you for your passion! And for the chance to win this amazing giveaway!!!
Love this giveaway. Especially love all your blogs throughout the year telling us all the amazing things to do and see in Nevada County. Thank you for all of your hard work!
Erin I think you can (although I know you never would) personally claim responsibility for a substantial amount of Nevada City’s business growth! Incredible to see you continue to build up everyone around you and pull together incredible giveaway.
Happy holidays JT, thanks for your on going support… I still think of our chat many years ago when you said you just bookmarked posts over the year for your next visit!
This gift basket goes to show the true essence of the community in which we live and represent and how you have had a part in showcasing its greatness to so many. I always find your blog to be a wonderful resource of what’s happening in the county. Thank you!
Thank you, I love that you feel the giveaway is the true essence of the community… here I am thinking of all the other amazing businesses and organizations I have yet to feature… but you can’t do it all! Happy holidays.
Shared and following you on Facebook! Thanks so much!
My husband and I are residents of Grass Valley and we met here. When we got married we had our wedding in town. More than half of our guests were from out of town, we essentially had a destination wedding in many ways. Several of our guests stayed at The Outside Inn and they spoke highly of all the details that were taken care of and the customer service. However, I enjoyed your blog about your campground and I am so bummed it wasn’t established yet for our guests. I adore the business idea and the option for friends to stay somewhere unique when visiting. For this reason, this is the blog post I enjoyed the most. Thank you for being creative and wonderful and a part of our community!
You can love this blog post best, it’s truly the biggest of anything I’ve ever done. And I love that the motel was a positive part of your wedding adventure. The campground… yeah, some things take time… but glad you’re excited about the business.
Hi Erin! Now that we’ve lived here for more than a decade, it is easy to get caught up in humdrum daily routines and tasks. Thanks for reminding us of the beauty of Nevada County through your blog. What a special place this is.
Thanks Nora, I understand what the daily agenda looks like…. I love seeing the adventures that your family get up to… and kudos for past spontaneous invites (i.e. the time I crashed the boys trip to the Yuba).
Wow this is so incredibly awesome! Thank you! I love your recent post about kid friendly activities for the holidays. I mean, ALL of your wonderful blog posts that share great kid friendly activities is extremely appreciated. You really have great insight into our little community, keeps things exciting and inspiring. Much love!
Outside Inn blog and social media posts have been a blessing to someone new to the area! So many amazing tips and ideas! This basket would be a total dream!
I agree, a total dream and the gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving. Happy holidays.
You’ve done it again, created this huge gift from the community! It’s really a giant mirror of how generous your spirit is. I don’t care if I win, someone is going to be so stoked! I just wanted to leave a comment. 🙂
Thank you my friend, I was thinking of you and your beautiful styling work and how the box has gotten so unruly since we took the photo (it keeps growing)… it needs a make over.
Outside Inn is such a unique and happy place, a real cornerstone for the community I love. Thank you for all you do for Nevada City, Erin
I really enjoy the updates on what’s going on in town, as well as the reminders of all the wonderful things our town has to offer. Great work and thank you!
I love your thoughtful list of local “things to do”. I refer to it often and recommend it to my rental guests and they always find something fun. Thanks for taking the time to keep our community informed.
I just recently found out about this blog BUT it is very informative. A lot of the events are yearly so if you miss one you can always calendar it for next year! …and always check back regularly on the blog! And the pictures are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s great that the Outside Inn highlights the community. Being born and raised here sometimes we forget the treasures that are here.
What a wonderful collection of goodies. Thank you for all the ways that you celebrate our towns and community. It’s always inspiring to see Nevada City/Grass Valley on your feeds 🙂
Thank you for your contribution of beautiful photos of our area– and I always love our meet ups and collaborations, creative fuel.
I had no idea this blog existed!! What a great site for information on Nevada County and all it has to offer.
I was born and raised in Nevada County, I sometimes forget what this county has to offer. This site is going to keep me in the know.
AND what an amazing giveaway this is!! Love our growing community ♥️
I love our growing community too, welcome to the blog!
What I love about your blog Erin is that you focus on all of the positive things that surround us. There is so much negative in the world, it is very refreshing to read a blog by someone who is truly passionate about where we live…which is beautiful by the way! I have lived here a long time but you have shared some hidden gem events that I never knew about, which is awesome. My favorite posts are the ones that are about kid friendly activities in our area. I have a little girl and it was fun to see all of the things there is to do during the summer. https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/nevada-city-kid-friendly-activities.htm/
I also really enjoyed the kid friendly holiday events post. Christmas is our favorite time of year. We love getting dressed up and going to Victorian Christmas…the atmosphere is truly magical. I loved all of the pictures you have in that post as well, definitely some of my favorites! https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/kid-friendly-holiday-events.htm/
I also didn’t know there was a craft fair in Nevada City! This was one of my favorite local events, so many different things in one place, it was so fun and convenient. When I saw your post I decided to go and I was able to finish my Christmas shopping, so thank you!
Please keep up the great work and positive energy Erin, I know that many people enjoy reading your posts and seeing your wonderful pictures.
This makes me smile, because you’re right we all need more positive energy in our worlds. And I love that you went to the craft fair b/c of this post and supported local artisans.
I don’t use social media Erin, but I did subscribe to your blog via email so im hoping that gets me a second entry. Thanks so much for the opportunity!
The great thing about this blog is that you don’t need to use social media to enjoy it, thanks for playing along.
Love all the local tips!
Thanks.
Huge fan of the photography on the blog and Instagram. A great place to find local events too. Thanks for keeping it updated and for the sweetest lil local basked of goods everrrrrrrrr each year!
Thank you to Outside Inn for your impressive support and promotion of our wonderful community. We LOVE living here and your blogs capture so much of the essence why we live here. We are pleased to promote Outside Inn to visitors. We appreciate your continued support of the arts — my husband and I sing with InConcert Sierra’s Sierra Master Chorale.
Wow! I like the nice, friendly, intelligent voice most about this Blog. Plus, it is fun to have seen the evolution of your business over the years (from afar). I signed up for the email list, shared on facebook, and am leaving a comment!! 🙂 Keep on being awesome!
Your blog has become my “go to” place for what is new and different around the area. I learn so much from what you highlight. And I love the photos. Thanks.
The Airway has come a long ways!
Keep up the good work!! ⛄️
Oh, Erin! You are so generous and so hospitable. It’s because of you and your caring team at Outside Inn that I now live in the area. Your sweet Inn and the people running it made me feel so welcome, gave me so much guidance, shared so much wisdom…and now, I live in the area.
I would so love to win that basket, and I’d share the love with people in the area. Instead of keeping it all for myself, I would give some to people in need and some to the people who have helped me integrate into our amazing community.
Here’s what I posted on FB and Twitter:
#VisitNevadaCity
Can I just rave about the friendliness, the creativity, the hospitality and joy that Outside Inn in Nevada City, CA spreads? And, they have a giveaway with $3,500 of local goodness for the holidays. Wanna win it? https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/holiday-giveaway.htm/

I am always so impressed with how you make all this magic happen! I love the photo too 🙂 . Thanks for all your community spirit!! You are an inspiration.
Thank you my friend…. I appreciate your constant support (don’t tell the general public what goes on behind the scenes).
I love the photo of the birds… are those Pigeons? Rock on Erin!
Photoshop? Just kidding… but I have no idea, I promise I did not queue the birds.
I really just love the vibe. Merry Christmas everyone!
Thanks Theo, happy holidays.
Can I adore Outside Inn even more, Erin? It’s because of you, your funky, fabulous, friendly Inn that I now live in the area. When I was scouting for a new place to call my community, I stayed at Outside Inn multiple times. Your amazing staff was so helpful, and gave me an orientation to the area and such a warm welcome that I moved here 14 months later. And that was August of 2017. I would love to win the basket and would share some of it with people in need, some of it with people who have helped me to integrate, and would love to give out some as surprise gifts to people in the streets, just for fun. I’ve posted on FB and Twitter. Thank you, thank you, for all that you do to create community, fun, and caring. xoxo
This is so sweet….. I know we have a part of many people’s lives in Nevada City, but I think we often forget how much of the Nevada City story we are for folks. So glad we were able to provide you with a welcoming perspective on our community and I love the idea of giving some of these goodies as surprise gifts to folks on the streets- that’s so the Nevada City spirit.
Thanks for keeping us connected with the wonderful community throughout the year. I love the photos from The Buttermilk Bend photo walk. They remind me of some of the things I cherish about living here. It would be awesome to win this prize package, as I’ve already been thinking of people I would love to share the bounty with. Thanks for all of your efforts in this, and a big thanks to the businesses who contributed!
Hello, thanks for your wonderful website. We did not know you existed. Merry Christmas

I’m so excited to enter this giveaway! I was inspired to visit Nevada city after watching a Christmas movie called a “Christmas Card and with a quick Google I found you and your beautiful hotel and this wonderful blog that told me everything I needed to know about Nevada city and even though you didn’t have an opening in your inn- I still was able to find another hotel from your recommendation. Thank you so much for all the blog entries on what are pet friendly and kid friendly things to do in Nevada city and for all your charming photos! One lucky winner is going to be so happy to win this! Thank you! Merry Christmas! -Alison Post-Deavers

The blog is our go to aggregator for happenings in the community. Thanks for all that you do.

As I now live out of town, this blog lets me see all that is going on in my hometown and makes me feel a little closer to my family and community that still live there. Beautiful photography or a beautiful community!
PS. Shared the love <3
I’m new to Nevada City and your blog. I just signed up! Can’t wait to see what’s to come.
Just seeing how much interaction is on this post reflects what you do well. Community hub and Ambassadors. We love referring visitors that come through to your site for fun ideas on what to do for the day or days they are here.
One of the first things my Nevada City friend told me to do when I relocated here in August was to subscribe to your blog. And I’m so happy I did! It has soooooo much information! It’s so valuable for a newcomer myself or a tourist, but I bet even locals find new spots or ideas from all that you share. I haven’t lived in a climate that had 4 seasons in over 12 years so I was very excited to arrive in Nevada City in time to experience our first Fall. It was magical! I kept your post on the fall leaves walks in my inbox for weeks. I never got around to going on one this year, but I have so much to look forward to in the coming years as we get to know our new community. I will definitely be using your blog as a local resource.
I liked your page! How was I not already following you? And I shared the LOVE! I will share a few more time leading up to Christmas. 🙂 Like you said, this is too much fun!
My son-my father-and I enjoyed our stay at in town this past summer/fall. We also traveled to the bridge at 49. The swimming hole and rushing water was the best part! Besides clamping in our favorite glampsite-with enough beds to fit us all plus 1 comfortably. Fingers crossed for a win of share some pics of our getaway if I knew how
I love your posts of the events going on in our lovely community. One of the many posts I liked was the holiday concerts post. Both my children sang with the NU choir and I love being aware of all the amazing music we have available in Nevada City and Grass Valley. Thank you for sharing our community with those both local and far. Merry Christmas.
I’ve really loved the blog posts and the fun reviews of the blog. We have attended a few events the holiday season, and this blog is one of our best sources for information. We’ve loved the summaries of the hikes, including holiday
Shared the post and I always look forward to seeing the pictures you take. There’s always a story behind each one…
I love how you share so much with us. It is one-stop information central! And your heart holds our community so well. Thank you!
2nd comment as i “liked” your page. I like everything you tell us about!
Howdy! We want to be part of this awesomeness next year! We’re relative newcomers to the area and have a little soap company near the airport! ❤️
Yay for outside in !!! So happy I signed up for this blog!!!
We have only been to your campground twice…but it feels like we are part of the Inn Town Family. The welcome we received each time has been heart warming. Our trips have both been so special…first time in early fall discovering this amazing campground and the people…and the 2nd time celebrating Thanksgiving with family in the pouring rain…2 rv sites and 3 glamping tents…and lots of fun and memories forever. Inn Town is always on the top of my list when my husband says…Let’s plan on a camping trip soon!! Merry Christmas to all at Inn Town…and a very Happy New Year…(hummm…is there room there for us to bring in 2019?) 🙂
Thank you erin for all you do !! I love the sense of comminty this blog brings ! I was born and raised here and this blog embodies Nevada county!!
I’ve lived here my whole life, and enjoy the beauty of our area. But seeing the artistic beauty of the photos through your site always makes me pause, and feel the beauty even more profoundly! Thank you!
I’ve shared the love on my FB page, thank you! Merry Christmas!
I have lived here my whole life and I still have to say that one of my favorite activities I ever participated in in Nevada County was the Nevada City cemetery walk last year, hosted by Jesse Locks with Folk Trails and Outside Inn . I wasn’t able to attend this year, but I hope it is something that will happen annually. I learned so much about our history and about cemeteries I didn’t even know existed. It’s a beautiful time to walk around and to remember those who walked here before us. I also appreciate how much Erin supports the community by sharing special events that are going on, like the Forest Charter Silly Sweater Run!
https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/fall-walks-2.htm/
I have lived here a long time and love learning about new places and events in the blog.
Thank you Erin for always informing this lovely community of all the wonderful happenings around this amazing little town! Always a hard decision on what events to attend with so much going on. Happy holidays all.
Thanks for your consistent cheer of all things on the blog.
I love our hometown and sharing it with others brings happiness to Nevada County. Keeping locals informed is a great service. Love the photographs!
Thank you. So many beautiful places in our community and I’m thankful to know other talented photographers to help capture our community.
Erin! You’ve really outdone yourself this year! I love the pics, especially when I feel like I’m in the the photo. So many if the pics are of places I’ve had these great experiences, so I get to relive them…
Keep up the good work!
As one of the small, but elite group of past winners… I know that you know, first hand, how amazing the giveaway is, all year long. Happy holidays my friend.

Thank you Kat, happy holidays to you and your family.
I love this blog – I have discovered so many things to do from it and am so grateful! Your tips on good things to do with kids around the area and holiday events have been spot on. Thank you!
Thanks! The kids have so many opportunities… and sometimes it’s fun to channel your inner kid and go do the things too.
I love these blog posts and am wowed at how much they include each month. Love the walks led by you and Jesse and I’ve attended a few of them, always bringing a different friend to share with them. I’m still fairly new to the area, so seeing all the great recommendations is such a big help. I also subscribe to the county newsletter to keep posted on everything. I really enjoy the history and unique events. Thanks!!
The local history is fascinating, I also find the walks to be fun, how many times have you walked by the plaque and not stopped? Happy holidays.
Here’s my second chance with my LIKE AND SHARE — thx again!
I love the community we live in, and appreciate being kept up to date on events (my goal is to make it to Jesse’s hikes!). I’m always amazed at the generosity of the local merchants, which is why I patronize them. Thank you for being such a wonderful ambassador for all of us.
Thank you. The Folk Trails Hiking Club collaboration has been fun, stay tuned, we have more in store for 2019.

Thank you Erin, for sharing the community with all of us, it’s such a valuable source to keep in touch with what’s happening around here. Thank you also for trusting me with your Boy ❤️
Thanks Jasmin, happy holidays to you and your family. I wish I could say my boy loves his time at the orthodontist, but that’d be stretching the truth a bit.
Also, I shared the love on FB.

Hello, and thank you so much for doing this give way! Every single one of you are so thoughtful and inspiring in many ways. What I absolutely love about Outside inn’s “InnSide Nevada City,” blog is that I am constantly in tune with local events that are happening in the county! I am new to the area, and InnSide Nevada City blog really inspired me to get out into the community and engage in all of the fun activities that Nevada County has to offer! My favorite blog post was, South Yuba River, being that I have only had only been to the Bridgeport crossing in previous years, this post really helped me expand my horizons to check out new Yuba destinations. I also had no idea about the Yuba bus, which is a great resource since parking can get very tricky! My favorite photo(s) comes from this blog post, an areal image of someone floating in the beautiful Yuba! My favorite local event would be the famers market on Saturdays during the summer, it gives locals a great opportunity to engage with their local farmers, and meet their neighbors. I learned through this years blog posts that Nevada County is exactly where I am supposed to be. I have so much love for this little mountain town, I feel inspired by each and everyone of you, and continue to be inspired every day. Thank you!

Those of us who live in Grass Valley and Nevada City are so very fortunate. We are blessed with abundance! I love the fact that you keep us updated on items of interest, as there is always something going on. Thank you!
There is always something going on and I feel like I barely scratch the surface… but I love when folks chime in and remind me of other new and exciting things we should all check out. Happy holidays, abundance is a great word choice.
This is such a fantastic representation of our awesome community! How so many people truly care and come together to support one another always inspired me. Our local businesses are fantastic! This is my first introduction to this blog but I do look forward to being more involved and staying connected. Sounds like this is an awesome resourse to stay in the now on what is happening in our community:)
My favorite event is the Nevada county fair. I haven’t missed a year since I was 7 years old! Second favorite is the Celtic fest…..I have only gone to this for about 5 years but I love it! It’s like our own little renaissance festival! This is such a cool giveaway…..thanks for doing it! I also shared it on Facebook!!!
What I love is how people talk about the foods at these events…. I swear if you want to be a hit at a cocktail party as someone their favorite Treat Street option and I’m sure they’ll have an opinion.

I love the way your blog spotlights special events that our one of a kind community puts on. Always a delight , especially the Victorian Christmas. Thank you for all that you do for this fantastic community!
I really appreciated the blog about holiday concerts, as I was wanting to find some to attend this season and wasn’t sure what is out there. I appreciated the consolidated list!
https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/grass-valley-holiday-concerts.htm/
Did you make it to any of them? I know several of them sold out.
Erin I love your photos of our charming town, you capture it so well! I also love your blogs! It’s so great to see your photos of what is going on in town, and your enthusiasm is awesome!
Wow I stumbled across your giveaway and blog just now. I have spent a little time visiting Nevada City and very excited to see what you are doing here! My favorite so far is the national coffee day blog. Java Java Java! Sharing to Facebook also
Can’t go wrong with lots of coffee options… thank for joining the fun, happy holidays.
All year round, from Halloween to Christmas to the summer months, your contributions to our lovely little town of Nevada City and our local community are appreciated. Well done! Thank you for everything your and the staff do to continue to make Nevada City a special place to visit for others. I feel blessed to live in such a remarkable place.
Have lived here for 6.5 years now and don’t really know much about the area. Looking forward to reading your blogs and learning more about this county I now call home.
I actually did not know Outside Inn has a blog until I saw this giveaway shared by Nevada County Scenics. I have been enjoying reading it and can’t wait to follow you!
Shared on FB & IG.
Erin,
I have had the pleasure of following and reading your fabulous blog for the past several years.
You continue to feature and highlight your incredible community with much pride, joy and passion. Please continue to keep up your fantastic work! I enjoy reading your blog and it is never boring; always informative and upbeat.
My most favorite articles are about the Yuba River and Spring Flowers. It is a Sacramento Bee article about the covered bridge at Bridgeport that made me make the drive up for a docent led wildflower hike mentioned in the article on Easter Sunday in the rain at the South Yuba River State Park in Bridgeport. Seeing the incredible bridge, the Yuba River and wildflower bloom for my first time, complete with my own private docent led hike, instantly made me fall in love with Nevada County and hiking.

Thank you!
Diane
I also shared the love on FB and Twitter, too!
I have just learned of this blog and am thrilled at the prospect of following along to hear about this amazing area! I grew up spending Summers here, got married here, and currently live about an hour away so we try to visit when we can. This giveaway sounds INCREDIBLE and I would love to win and have better excuses to come visit more often 🙂 (I know, I know… who needs an excuse??!)
What a wonderful collection of local items, Erin! Shared the link, whoever wins is going to be thrilled! One of my favorite posts you did this year was about the Crystal Hermitage Gardens at Ananda last spring. That is such a beautiful, peaceful location, and Cathy and Aaron’s photos were gorgeous! I’ve also enjoyed seeing your continued success with the campground this year, as well as what’s being shared on the community food share cart at the Inn. Hope you have a lovely holiday. Kim 🙂
Wow, what an amazing gift basket! It is really sweet that you do this for our community. And your blog is wonderful! I love learning about happenings around town that I wouldn’t have otherwise heard about- for example, the Nevada City Craft Fair! Thank you for all that you do for our community!
I also shared your giveaway on my Facebook page! Good luck to everyone!
Love our little community! Love the pics you take
Thank you!
I love the photography and the information on Special Events.
There are so many special events too! Merry Christmas.
First, I love the great pictures included with each post, and secondly I love that there is entire post about holiday activities for children!
I know, how lucky to be a kid! Merry Christmas.
Year after year, Erin continues to single handedly be the Nevada County Chamber of Commerce. She is always so inclusive of so many events and so many local businesses. And she does it in such a warm and humble way. She is a shining light and we all benefit from having her here in our community! Thank you Erin.
I don’t want to be the Chamber, but thank you for the compliments. I try to include as many as I can, but I recognize that there are lots of amazing folks out there that I have yet to spotlight. Happy holidays.
I look forward to Erin letting me know what magical and fun things are happening in my town. Her eye to capture images and he sense of adventure always steer me in the right and perfect direction. Happy Holidaze!! <3 Pepper
Happy holidays Pepper, I’m excited to see what new and magical things you have in store for 2019.
I shared on my Facebook. I love to share my hometown with my friends!
We love the blog because it keeps us apprised of events that we would enjoy. But we really love the outside in. My parents have stayed there when visiting. My mother, who complains about EVERYTHING, absolutely LOVES the Outside Inn and gushes about it all the time.
Laughing… I love that you said your mother complains about everything… so glad she’s at home at the Outside Inn and loves it.
I love that I can find out all the happenings in our sweet town & see some beautiful photos of our area!
Thank you for all you do!
Ps-
Awesome mix of some great gifts from our amazing community

I so would be very blessed to win this on Christmas Day I’d love to share this with my father who is 94 yrs .
https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/I love the Outside Inn blog because you guys post really beautiful photos and let people know what’s going on on the community. This is my first year as a Resident of Nevada City and I couldn’t be more proud of this town. This is a very special slice of Earth with VERY special people. I am thankful especially for your post this summer about some special spots on the south Yuba, because I have found one of my favorite places in this Earth, thanks to a little hint from you! 😉 truly it’s been magical to explore this land and meet my neighbors, I can’t wait for more in 2019!! Thanks Outside in for your blog, and for sharing the beauty and bounty of this community!
Ps- I’m subscribed to your email list now ❤️
What a fantastic giveaway. Your hard work for this blog and social media pages is so evident and appreciated. Your blog posts inspire me because even though I live in El Dorado County, Nevada City feels like another home. I’ve been coming to the South Yuba River and exploring Nevada County for many years. Photography is my passion, and this county has so many beautiful gems that captivate me. The photos and blog posts help me plan photo and hiking outings. I have also grown up around and still continue to work for my family business which is a “glamping” whitewater rafting campground on the American River near Coloma. Inn Town Campground has been a place I’ve looked up to and admire since I’m in the same business. The hardworking folks there do a tremendous job! Keep it up and keep the great posts coming!
Thank you for the beautiful and inspiring photography on this blog! Can’t wait to share you more in the new year’
Wow, what a marvelous giveaway!
Let me start off by saying thank you for all of the amazing Blog posts and for keeping us all in the loop about the amazing happenings here in town. If I have to choose a favorite post from this year I would say it’s this one https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/nevada-county-grown.htm/ because I love the farmers, farms, farmers market and wonderful produce this county has to offer. I appreciate you informing us about where the farmers markets are taking place and giving us info about the local farms. It’s really awesome that they do farm tours, I went on one at Riverhill Farm earlier this year. I plan on going on several next season.
I also enjoy checking out the photos you take and post. The aerial photo of the Yuba River is stunning and so is the photo you recently posted from Victorian Christmas with all the people flooding the street, wow! Honestly all of the photos are great and pair perfectly with the posts.
This Blog is extremely beneficial to newbies in town, such as my wife and me. (We moved here 8 months ago) I’m going to sign up for the email notifications right now not only for the extra entry, but mainly because I want to be in the loop to read about all of the awesome events happening in town.
I was delighted to find out about the film festival, the Chinese New Year parade and various other events this town has to offer.
Thank you so much for this Blog. Keep the post coming. Fingers crossed for the giveaway, my wife and I will definitely make good use of all the goodies in the basket if we win.
With Joy and Gratitude,
Christopher Carmichael
I greatly appreciate the posts about the Center for the Arts Family Fun Day. I had no idea these amazing events occurred until I saw it posted here. Thank you! My kids have had a more rich experience because of it!
Oh Erin, I love everything about your blog, but especially appreciate the events (children’s events in particular). I also admire your genuine passion and joy of living in this beautiful area. Thank you for contributing so much to our community!
Subscribed via email AND shared the love on FB! ❤️
I absolutely love how you promote our beautiful Nevada City!
It’s hard to choose one pos, however, the most relevant post to me right now is your wonderful list of kid friendly holiday activities! https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/kid-friendly-holiday-events.htm/ I love how much fun our little towns are for our kids! Thank you!
Subscribed via email. 🙂
I loved finding out about the cherry tree behind Ikes! Brought my 9 year old daughter to see it after I read the blog. So very pretty! https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/ikes-quarter-cafe-spring.htm/

We have lived here for 4 years now…and I still rely on your blog to let me know what is going on around town! Thank you for keeping us an active part of the community!
I like the blogs about upcoming events. Nevada County offers so much more besides the large better known events.
Thank you for keeping us updated.
Good morning.
Wow you have done an amazing job with all of the goodies you have collected for this giveaway. You have made a point of showing a huge array of items of Nevada County. I love seeing your posts of upcoming events. It’s a great way to be up to date on all of the cultural & community events in our amazing area. Thank you for all u do.
Hi Erin, have followed your blog and FB page for several years and love all your posts! And your photos are amazing, recently shared one on FB from a few years ago of you on Broad St. photographing on a snowy morning in Dec. Thank you for showing off Nevada City so beautifully, love this town I’ve called home for 41 years.
Shared your Hoilday Givaway post on Facebook.
How generous of all the local businesses! As a Nevada County native I come back ro NC and GV as often as possible; approximately every 2 weeks and bring a friend or meetup group for a personal tour. I was so fortunate to grow up and live most of my life in NevCo and arguably one of the most beautiful and diverse places on Earth! Happy Holidays!
WOW an amazing giveaway! So many wonderful prizes.
This last year I happened to come across Erin’s blog. I’ve been following it ever since. I love all of your blog posts. I like that you include the local and upcoming events for Nevada City.
In October I participated in the Outside Inn Fall Hikehttps://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/fall-walks-2.htm/ with the Folk Trails Hiking Club. What a wonderful experience. The weather was perfect, the fall colors were everywhere, we learned about local history, plants, and trees. Honestly, I wished I lived a bit closer to participate more often.
I discovered Grass Valley Brewing from your blog! I’m not really a beer drinker but I have an avid beerie best friend. On a recent visit I joined her there and sampled from her flight. Lo, behold, what divine deliciousness!
Thank you for being a community central for all things local and delicious ❤
I’ve lived here for eight and a half years, but I still read this blog to make sure I am in the know about ALL of the wonderful (and especially the new!) things that are going on in our amazing county. Thanks for doing it, Erin!
Love this idea for a giveaway to build community. Annette and I just moved here from Sac and socal. We love the the people even more than all the wonderful places go. 🙂
I always knew Nevada City to be an exceptional and truly special place, but this since moving to the area, this blog has been a helpful pilot propelling me into the culture and community that I’m now a part of. The spotlight on the businesses are charming and the event guides have helped me plan our family outings (especially to enjoy music over the summer https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/concerts.htm/). Thank you for focusing this effort into our community to help us all support one another.
What a wonderful resource for the community. I’m so glad you were featured in the Union. Otherwise I wouldn’t have stumbled across your blog. Looking forward to reading it and learning more about our new home town and surrounding areas. Thank you!
I lived in Nevada City for a few years. Loved roaming the streets, Nevada City has that small town charm. Checking out the little shops are fun. The Victorian Christmas, is a must.
Love your pictures and community spirit!
I am sharing the love ❤️ You guys are awesome! Community stewards, business owners, awesome parents, super cool peeps. Thank you for all you do
I love seeing what’s happening in Nevada City, even though I only visit occasionally. Thanks!

I love seeing the beautiful pictures of the changing leaves and Victorian Christmas! Also getting a peek into what is at the sharing Farmstand 🙂
I loved your blog post about GV Brewing and The Roost. My husband is a craft beer enthusiast and was very excited when they opened.
Your blog is by far the best place to find to most up to date openings, events, and suggestions for season recreation. I recommend it to anyone interested in finding out what it’s really like to live in Nevada County.
Thanks! Happy holidays. I really wish I could actually cover all the things happening…
I love all things Nevada City. The arts, the Yuba River, all the cool events and outdoor activities. Today, through this blog, I just learned about the first hike at Malikoff Diggins. Sounds like a great way to start the new year. Thanks for your blog!
I heard last year that there were a lot of people… so that’s my only head’s up that if you’re looking for solitude it might be better to head to Malakoff at a different time.
I love and utilize your blog to gain access to all of the kid friendly events/activities that our amazing community has to offer! Whenever I’m feeling stumped I come here to come up with fresh new ideas!
Thanks! I’m sure there are still plenty of other ideas out there that I should add… so lucky to be a kid in this community.
Shared on Facebook for an additional chance to win !
Love reading your blog!
Thanks, happy holidays.
I love the photography included in the blogs and fb pages! Keep up the great work!

I love everything you do Erin!!! This town is truly amazing and I love being a part of it!
your blog is a great way to find our what is going on in the area!!!
I love how the outside inn blog makes me feel close to home.
Hi,
We moved to town in July, and we are so grateful for your guide to new and exciting adventures in Nevada City. We’ve gotten great information about the Yuba in the summer, the film festival, and especially the posts about Victorian Christmas and the Nutcracker. Our daughter wants to dance like Clara now, so we’ll be on the lookout for more posts about the arts in town. Also, we love Candace and Vitaliy from Pictilio… The winner is going to have some awesome family photos for sure!
Thank you,
Colin Lockhart
I love seeing an old friend achieve success in things she’s obviously passionate about. That’s what I see in every post and it makes me nostalgic for home!
Thanks Angela! I love hearing from people from back “in the Day” because you know some things from our youth are probably the same!! But always something fun happening in Nevada City, so glad I can keep you in the loop.
Love what you do to promote our local vendors! My family uses Inn Town Campground when they come to visit and are totally impressed. Thank you for what you are doing. Truly a community spirit. And I shared, via FB, and added my email to your list. Much appreciation!
I love this place for the all the opportunities to be outside in beauty and adventure. I love this place for the people who are varied and creative and all the small businesses who support the community in so many ways.

What a great idea. One of the many things that makes Nevada City the best olace in the world. #visitnevadacity
Thanks Rick, so glad you figured out how to play along!
I grew up running through the hills of Grass Valley and Nevada City. Bell Hill kindergarten, Lyman Gilmore and Nevada Union fill my memories with moments of schools past. When I read your blogs I am taken back to those summer nights watching thunderstorms flash purple lightning in our front yard as we sat on lawn chairs. It brings back all of my experiences during the holidays, and throughout these hills. But most importantly, it brings me back to that sense of family. Everything I did, was with friends and family by my side and it’s that familiar feeling we long for during the holidays…
Reading your posts, allows everyone around the community to come together and share the same experience. Local blogs give newcomers and residents the ability to envision, discover and dream, and what could be more beautiful than that?
Thanks for all you do for our community! I already follow you on Instagram and Facebook. I signed up on your email list though and shared this on Facebook! Fingers crossed!
You have such a sweet blog! I’m inspired by your love of community and unity for our county. It’s a beautiful thing and we are lucky to have local business owners who care the way that you do. Thanks for your time, effort, and heart!
I agree!! I love that so many of them support me year after year (I have heard several of them say the same thing about me, so it’s a win-win).
I’ve shared the love on FB❤️❤️
Happy I found your Instagram I want to be able to follow you now that I know about you! Great information!!! Thank you!!!!
Thanks! Instagram is still a good place to follow along, as I can post photos without having to write entire blog posts. Always something happening around here.
This blog is a fantastic resource. And, wow! What a fantastic prize! I would love to win this just to visit all the places I haven’t tried yet.
Isn’t it… I think of all the fun you could all year long…. Happy Holidays.
I just subscribed today to your blog but I am no stranger to it 🙂
I’ve referred many friends and family to this site over the past year when looking to book an awesome place to stay(at your amazing facilities), events, or just amazing highlights of our area.
Thank you for your posts and updates, and taking the time to do this for our community!
I love taking my little ones to do things, especially local things, and thanks to your site and information
we have found so many fun things to do and attend locally! It’s really awesome to me that you have a section dedicated to kid friendly holiday activities, thanks to that and your Things to Do section, my kids are never bored. These blogs have also become a sort of tool for us and our 6 year old as shes home schooled and going outside and into the community is something we strive to do everyday with her to help her learn and grow. Your time and dedication to this blog doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated! Thank you!
Keep on Rockin’ and being AWESOME!
Merry Christmas
-The Heinan Family, Kendra.
Thank you! Now I’m thinking I need to do more work on the kids section b/c there really are so many opportunities in our community and I’m wondering if I’ve done enough? I’m glad you notice the time & dedication, this giveaway is truly a great reminder to me that I’m not really just talking to myself… which sometimes it seems like. Happy holidays!

Love having my relatives stay at Outside Inn when they visit!!
We promise to do our best to look after ’em.
Erin, I am not a blog person and I seriously look forward to reading yours! I have lived in the area for 18 years, and I love learning new things from you on the regular! So much of what you post is my favorite, but the thing I enjoy the most is reading about new/old/showcased shops. I have found so many that I love because of your blog. Thank you so much for sharing and for putting together this incredible giveaway!
New/old/showcased shows… my list of to dos is longer then you’d imagine… I should just do a huge round up and tick ’em all off at once? Happy holidays.
I also subscribed to your emails ❤️
What a great thing for the community. Always enjoy your aspect on the area and what you do for the community as well. So glad to have you as a client!
Thanks Ryan, and I appreciate you putting up with me when I get annoyed at insurance companies.
What a wonderful community oriented business! I’ve always wanted to stay a The Ouside Inn; maybe my husband and I will be able to this coming year, when we celebrate our 30th anniversary!
Happy almost 30 year anniversary, what a fabulous milestone. The motel is here when you want to come play…
I love how many of your posts inspire me and others to try new things in our community. Your blog motivates me to dine out, explore our surroundings, shop, and attend community events. Thank you for all that you do, it’s people like you that strengthen our community!
Thank you, I’m only a small part of this amazing network of folks– but if you makes you feel better the blog inspires me to do all of the same things.
7 1/2 yrs ago i moved to So Cal to help my mom. I’ve been trying to move back ever since. Nevada County is my ❤. Your blog helped me watch everything i missed so much. Thank you so much for helping keep my homesickness at bay. And happily next Sat Dec 29th I get to start my New Year with my ❤. Coming home. And love all the goodies in the basket. I love this community.
At least you know we’re here when you can come back…. Happy holidays.
I’m new to NorCal from SoCal and I love this blog to see what is going on in this adorable town.
Welcome to Nevada City! Happy Holidays.
Well Erin, you’ve outdone yourself! Your photos and giveaways are wonderful, but mostly I am just so impressed with how you keep up this blog! I ise it as a resource for myself and also for my guests or friends and family when they visit our community. I think we need to come up with a community basket for Erin!
Ha ha… I am good, promise! But this post and all the positive love is a gift enough for me. Happy holidays my friend.
How do I love the Outside Inn blog, let me count the ways… You asked if there’s a favorite post or photo – that’s a toughie, but right now I’m leaning with this amazing one of you in the center of Broad Street, giant basket in hand. It just sums up so well your contribution to our community — not just the giveaway(s), although they’re wonderful, but this connection point for so many of us! I love your activity roundups, that always seem to come at the right time, and help remind me of the many great things our community offers… and I am basically just always happy to open the emails from you, which is not something I can say about any other email lists I’m on 🙂 THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!
Thank you my friend.
PS I shared the love, duh, why wouldn’t I? 😉
What an incredible giveaway! Happy Holidays 🙂
Woo hooo!!!
Your blog continues to take me back to a town I love so much and one that will always hold a special place in my heart! Our yearly trips to Nevada City were spent at the Outside Inn. Such a beautiful place in an amazing town! Thank you for continuing to share such wonderful tips, stories and experiences that always seem to bring me back to the fond memories spent there!
Yeah…. so glad to hear this. Merry Christmas.
Love how every once in a while, even though ive grown up here the blog will alert me to happenings i didnt know about
I tell people that I am the same way, always something new happening even if I have lived here for a long time.
Love the Victorian Christmas write ups, didnt realize that people came from so far to enjoy our victorian christmas
Thanks Connie, yep, they definitely come from near and far. Thanks for donating again to the giveaway.
This area has so many hidden gems of events, I love reading your blog to discover them.
Thanks, happy holidays.
Love Nevada City. We come once a year to visit my aunt and uncle in Grass Valley. Would love to relocate there (from Los Angeles!).
It’s still a lovely place to visit…. happy holidays.
I love all of the pictures and updates regarding the Victorian Christmas event! It looks like so much fun! I also love all of the pics of Nevada City. I love going there and walking around.
It’s a fun event (if you can find parking, one of the many reasons folks stay with us at the Outside Inn, walking distance!).
Always love the Outdoor features and the photos site wide. The Giveaways are great too! Signed up via email for updates and shared to my FB friends.
Thanks! Always something fun to do outdoors. Happy holidays.
I love most how you post about local events. You’re often the only source for the many things going on each week!
I love the Outside in blogs, they always keep me up to date with the happenings around Nevada County, or the best places to eat.
There are some great new restaurants… on the to do list, gotta make it through the holidays first. Merry Christmas.
I shared the love online, and I will shout it from the mountain top when I get home! I’m a Realtor, and when I have clients visiting the area, getting a sense of the place, and “dipping their toes in the water”, I like to suggest places for them to go, things to do & see. The Outside Inn’s Blog is a wonderful resource, and I will often direct people to it. And, I occasionally partake of all the wonderful info myself. I have lived here for decades, but always discover something new. Thank you, Erin.
It’s okay to partake in the wonders of our little world too– I often have that thought as I watch people camp at the Inn Town Campground or folks going to the river in the summer from the motel, thinking, “Why are they having all the fun and I’m here working away”– but the reality is that we can all make time (even if it’s 15 minutes) to go and enjoy our backyard. Thanks for directing your clients to the blog.
Yayay the best give away is here!!! Thank you for always having the best things to post about our community! You are such an amazing source for Nevada County information and I am so grateful that you share your wealth of knowledge for us all! Thank you for all you do and Happy holidays to you and your family! You make our corner of the world shine a little brighter! 🙂
PS…even if I don’t win, thank you for giving us hope for such cool gifts!!! It’s a mini lottery! 🙂
I love that idea the hope of cool gifts… because we all need that hope sometimes and even if you don’t win, you know someone will be happy. Thanks for playing along.
Just shared on Facebook! Happy Holidays to all!
You are my “go to” for weekend plans. I love and so appreciate everything you do for our community!
Blessings to you and Merry Christmas!
Thank you….
I have shared the love on Facebook and included the link https://www.instagram.com/visitnevadacity/
It is you Erin! Your voice and your pictures.
Thank you Crystal…. I feel honored.
I loved your blog post about the Yuba river! My young family is new to Placer County and we’d love to explore more if surrounding areas…we’ve never been to Nevada City! https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/
So much to explore and great that you’re not that far away (I’ve had other comments that are significantly further away and dreaming of life in Nevada City), so you can come and play! Happy holidays.
Shared about the contest on Facebook! Facebook page follower!
I “found” Nevada City b/c of the Hallmark movie “The Christmas Card”. The first time I visited, my BFF f and I went to some of the movie filming locations. We had so much fun! We stayed at the Outside Inn, which is wonderful, with its themed rooms and great management. Visited OI again with my other BFF and was happy that my dogger was welcome too. Can’t wait to bring my Dad to Outside Inn and Nevada City. I think he will enjoy revisiting the history of the area, especially since he brought my sis and I here as kids.
Already follow on FB, as well as following the blog posts! I love finding out about the diversity of the events in NC! The hikes especially. And the shopping, LOL! And the activities at the Outside Inn.
Happy Holidays, all and Happy New Year!
Hike, shopping and activities… all we need to add is a few beverages and an ice cream cone and we’re good! Happy holidays, happy to always hear the path that led you to the motel and the fun in Nevada City.
I had the privilege of growing up in Nevada County(5th generation) I had my wedding at the Miners Foundry so I like to go to events there especially around the holidays. I like reading your blog to see whats new in the area. I like it all so I don’t have a favorite but the Outside Inn is our favorite place to stay! Thank you for sharing all the wonderful things that make Nevada County such a special place.
You can like it all, I’m okay with that…. but glad to hear that the Outside Inn helps connect you to a special place.
Thank you so much for your blog – I am looking forward reading it and discovering what Nevada City and the surrounding area has to offer
So much to do… I feel like I only highlight a small section of it, but always good reminders (and I love things that are random and off the beaten path).
PS I shared the love!!!! Thank you again for all your efforts in this blog!!
We’ve used your trail recommendations many times. Plus, I really appreciate your photography (very inspirational for us amateur photographers).

I have also, in years past, done a round up of kid friendly summer activities, so stay tuned!
I subscribed to the blog! Look forward to reading them!
I love the weekly Roundup the most, I never have time to do half the things I want to do in our county. It’s one of the great and amazing things about living here is how many wonderful creative people there are making good events every single weekend. I also love that you see so many of the fundraising events for charities in the weekly Roundup. I never have time to do half the things I want to do in our county. It’s one of the great and amazing things about living here is how many wonderful creative people there are making good events every single weekend. I also love that you share so many of the fundraising events for charities in our county.
But mostly I love Erin! A great friend and advocate.
I love that you drop off cookies and wine on my doorstep! (Even if the kids ate ALL the cookies before I got home).
Most excited about the fall walks article.
Way to see Indian Summer, trees in their golden colors. Thanks!
Thanks, I’ve got the 2019 schedule, will be posting about it soon.
Hello Erin! We heard about this from a friend who stayed at the “Outside Inn” this year. She was so pleased with her stay and told us we needed to stay even though we’re just 25 minutes away! I think my family will highly consider this! 😉 What amazing excitement you share through your blog. I’ve been reading through the newest ones and then onto the old ones. WOW, so much information. We’ve lived here in this area for 21 years, and this has to be one of my new favorite things. I can simply go to the blog for ideas and share with others so they too can enjoy this area. What a freshness to our area, thank you! BTW, I just signed up and shared the love too! Merry Christmas!!!
We’re big fans of staycations, whether its at the motel or the Inn Town Campground (why spend all that time in the car if you don’t have to, right?). Thanks for playing along.
Thank you for providing such an awesome overview of our community! I love reading about all of the fun activities happening around town! I appreciate having been given the opportunity to be apart of such a special community! I will be sure to share your blog with my friends!
Thanks! It’s a fabulous community, thanks for sharing.
Had the somewhat unique opportunity of living here in a very small house. next to pool. A little fuzzy on it’s name then. The Airpark. or the Airway? Manager was named Kate? Polar bear statue graced entrance & I had a Sassoon hair cut. From this location I fell in love with Nevada City, and decided to stay & assimilate. Best decision I ever made.
You’re thinking of the Airway Motel, which what the Outside Inn was before it became the Outside Inn in 1997.
I’m so glad I found this!!! We drove out and looked at the campground
So glad you went and had a look at the campground, it’s a special place 🙂
Erin, I love your photos and keeping us informed of all the local events. Peace to you and your family
Thank you, happy holidays.
My sister lives in Grass Valley, so my family and I come here over the holidays from Chicago to take in your idyllic town. We treasure the time we spend here. The Christmas spirit is strong! We were just turned onto your blog and look forward to keeping up with all things Nevada City.
Who knows… maybe we will move here when we retire!
— Ann, Barry and Hannah
You wouldn’t be the first blog reader to do that (I’ve met many over the years at the Outside Inn who have said the same thing). Happy holidays!
Your blog is amazing. Great photos and a good source of activities in the community. In addition the Outside Inn is the best place to stay in town.great walk to everything location.
Thank you, we take pride in hosting folks at the motel, so thank you for that compliment.
I have never heard of the mountain dog swimming hole!
We have visited the Campground a few times, even though we live in town! My son likes the craft hour for kids, and ping pong.
This place is absolutely amazing, we are incredibly blessed.
I tell friends that after the news station shared about it 5 or so years ago I got all sorts of people asking where it was and I always gave vague directions (knowing a general spot, but not specifically, or so I thought) and then I went down (to take photos for the blog) and laughed out loud b/c it was the exact swimming hole we went to when I was growing up- just a different name. Small town fun.
I shared the blog for a second chance at that most bountiful box of local goodies.❤
Shared the love on FB
I love all of the posts you do, especially the ones with kid friendly events! But I’d have to say that my favs are about Polly’s Paladar, since it’s how I met my husband! Thanks Erin
Way to warm the heart…
Wow, Erin. This is an amazing testament to all your work throughout the year. I love the blog for the way you highlight the amazing businesses and events our community has to offer. Thank you!
Thank you, and as one of the elite circle of past winners I know that you know how much of a gift this giveaway really is.
Favorite blog, hands down. One stop shopping for events going on in town. From the children’s fest to new restaurants to gentle reminders to GET OUTSIDE and enjoy our gorgeous county! Thanks for putting it all in one spot ☺️
We should all spend more time outside, but I agree… kids fun, restaurants (of which I feel woefully behind on) and outdoor fun are always good things to shout out about.

I love our beautiful scenic town and Victorian Christmas especially
I love the lights at Victorian Christmas too!

I love entering this giveaway, every year it gets more exciting! I guess it’s my favorite part of your blog I would love to learn how to become a donating business for the giveaway next year. Thanks for all that you do!!
Thanks! The prizes in the giveaway are all people that I have worked with over the years who understand and value cross promotion. I’m always open to giving new shout outs to fun things in town (there are a few things I don’t promote, but the vast majority of things people suggest are good fits for the blog if they’re familiar with what I write about). So, it’s really not that hard to be a part of it… but usually it’s someone or some business that has already been on the blog before the end of the year.
Love this giveaway!
Thanks, it’s a fun one.
I love everything about the Outside Inn! My favorite is your Instagram page. It keeps me updated with what is happening in the county, and special events. I like how you showcase businesses that are contributing in a good way to our town. Your hotel is also the only place I recommend to family and friends that come to visit ❤️
Thanks…. Instagram is easier in the sense that you don’t have to write a whole post, but it is nice to have the blog so I can include links and more photos, etc. Thanks for the recommendations to the Outside Inn.

I have been following you since before I moved here, your photography is excellent, thank you!
Well I hope that town lives up to the online version 🙂 Happy holidays.
I like being informed about all the many events in the area. Most of all I love the gorgeous pictures of the town of Nevada City. They almost always look like charming little country postcards. They really brighten my heart.
I have a postcard series that’s available for sale around town, but the campground and all that it requires has kept me from updating the series, but I should add that to the to do list. Happy holidays.
I’m new to living here, although having visited many times. The first time I came to Nevada City was in 1973, as my best friend had moved to Grass Valley shortly after graduating high school and I had to visit! It was love at first experience!! Thank you for making this wonderful town come alive for me by your posts, as I’m discovering more each day ~ ❤️
Welcome! Love at first sight is a delightful way to feel about your community. Happy holidays and happy exploration.
I love the OutsideInn blog! Having moved here only a couple of years ago, I am super grateful for all of the insider info on what’s going on around town. We host out of town guests frequently, and the blog is a reliable resource for entertaining, too! One of my favorite posts includes some great tips on how best to access and enjoy our beloved South Yuba river: https://visitnevadacityca.com/blog/yuba-river-nevada-city.htm/
Thanks Erin for all you do! And happy holidays to you and yours. 🙂
We love all the incredible photos of our beautiful town! There are so many things to experience here and we love seeing things through our neighbors eyes!
i love being able to read blog posts about my little town while I am away at college and i love all the beautiful pictures reminding me what i am made of!!
I’ve lived in Grass Valley a long time, and I really appreciate these blogs and the sense of community they give. Also, I want to say, when I first saw the campground I wanted to stay there myself: just take a few things and drive five minutes up the road, leave my house and take a little vacation in one of your luxury tents. Pretend I was traveling through. It would be fun.
I Iove the blog and recommend to each of my Airbnb guests. It’s such a great resource for fun, family and nighttime events. I have such gratitude for all tha Erin and her family does for this community.
I enjoy all your posts about events happening in town! I also think the photos that you post on the blog and instagram are great – so inspiring!
Before I moved back home, this lovely blog was a great glimpse at our wonderful community, with the best pictures and fun tidbits on the newest and best things to do when I’d visit. Not that I’m home again for good, it’s still the best way to find out what’s new and fun in our towns. Thanks, Erin, for showcasing the best of a great place to visit and to live!
Shared to Facebook so my friends across the country will be tempted to visit!
I love everything about the blog, but especially the way it highlights so many of the wonderful things about this city!
Holy Cannoli, Erin, this is an amazzzzing lineup! Wow…
My most treasured connection to your blog is that when I moved here (back in 2012), for a difficult family situation, there was almost no info online about this wonderful area. All I could find was some random threads complaining about the traffic and the smog, haha. Nothing I was finding online made the area seem very inviting or special. And then I found your blog! And I started to discover what a magical place fate was bringing me to…it really made such a difference for me in helping me adjust to the life changes that brought me here. You’re magical. Thank you for all you do for our hometowns!
Erin, I LOVE all of the beautiful photos you post with upcoming events all year long. But mostly I love Victorian Christmas photos as it is my FaceTime of year and Nevada City shines! I always share your photos in my Facebook! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
We are new to the area and falling in love with it more every day. OutsideInn has been such a great way to find out all the hidden gems! Love having a resource like this!
I appreciate that the blogs help build the community and bring people together. Beautiful pictures that describe our beautiful area and inspire people to get out and enjoy being together and meeting others. So many different interests and topics are covered too! Kudos for being a positive influence on the community!
I love all your posts and pictures that capture Nevada county. Have a merry Christmas!
I love that you are able to come up with new and interesting ideas to research, photograph, and write about so consistently. I’m so impressed that you actually pull it off, over and over again, even when life gets crazy busy. Such dedication!
Thanks for doing what you do!
I always enjoy your posts.
I feel so lucky to call this area home!
There is a fine line between loving something so much you don’t want to share because maybe it gets too expensive or there is too many others to get time there, and wishing it’s continued success. I wish your continued success. Dozens of visits have not disappointed me once. I brag about the Inn to anyone who will listen. I havent been to the campground yet but can’t wait. I shared the love, here here and everywhere I knew how. Many happy returns to you!
I also tweeted for my second entry. I have more free time these days as I have taken I’ll, I would love to spend some quality time off business getting to know the town better. :). Fingers crossed!
Nevada City is the perfect town to celebrate the holidays. The cheer, festivities, crafts and charm are unmatched
I love my area and enjoy inviting m6 friends and family up to show it off. I often refer to your blog for ideas and hings to do! One of my favorite events is the Children’s Festival. So unique and fun.

Love seeing all the beautiful things in my hometown via your blog. Thank you so much!!!
I look forward to seeing Erin compile this giveaway. It always heart warming to see the community give back to what Erin provides as far as exposure and and support of all the things our community provides. My favorite pic is from the Yuba River. Thanks for always supporting everything that happens here. Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!
Love this giving, loving community that i live in. Love reading this blog, love sending friends who come here for Victorian Christmas, the film festivals, the Yuba to The Outside at the Inside Inn.
Hi Erin,

Love you❤️
Love the blog.
Sharing…
I’ll wait for your call Christmas morning!
Lindsay
The love is mutual my friend…. and I know you’d be my very very best friend if you won… but you should put the film festivals (either the Wild & Scenic of the Nevada City Film Festival) on your to do list, you know you can volunteer and get tickets. But the craft fair is fun, I have photos of your participation from years past (so you live on in my archives of Nevada City fun).
Love this little city and everything you do!!! Happy holidays! ❤️
Thank you.
I love learning about upcoming events and new stores and restaurants that are opening. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love seeing all of your pics. Thanks!
Halloween is a scene…. really wish the photos could capture the spirit.

Thank you for posting about Nevada City. I love reading about what’s going on and seeing the fabulous photos. Even though I can’t be there every day; your post makes me feel like I am.

Thanks, happy holidays.
Best wishes to everyone and I hope everyone has a wonderful blessed Christmas!!!! Fingers crossed
Thank you, happy holidays.
Love that our friends and family who visit can stay at your place, have a different vibe depending on what room they get and walk wherever they need to go from your spot! And occasionally grab a snack from your community baskets out front.
The free veggie stand is one of my favorite things too… thanks for sending your friends and family to the motel.
I love to see all the beautiful photos of our area. Nevada City is so beautiful.
Agreed…. even in the pouring rain 🙂
Thank you so much for organizing this. I love our l little town.
Thanks for playing along, I love our little town too. Happy holidays.
I’m a new subscriber, but instead of a comment about the blog itself (yes, I realize I may be disqualifying my entry!), I want to give you an indirect thanks for the Inn Town Campground. In regularly walking Railroad Avenue for the many years we’ve lived in the neighborhood, I’ve been surprised how rarely we run into other pedestrians. But you’ve begun to change that, as folks hike between ITC and town. So we’ve actually been able to greet some of your — literally — happy campers!
I’m pretty flexible on the “rules” over here… but it is always great to know what resonates with people and I can completely understand that happy campers are the answer for you. Thanks for playing along.
Im a dope i dont think i posted on here that i shared on Facebook. Lol. Thanks for everything. Merry Christmas everyone.
This give away is over the top incredible! Such a fine example of the amazing businesses and events of Nevada City.
Thanks Govinda, happy holidays to you and your family.
I shared on Facebook.
Thank you so much for doing this. And I love how you have it organized. I must say I really like the pictures on an older blog I think it was from three years ago or more …the hiking trails one. Nevada City is such a beautiful area. I really wanted to come up and stay there at the Inn or at the campground this year but it’s not going to happen, so it’s on my list now for 2019. I’ve shared the giveaway on my Facebook page so I’ll make another entry here.❤
There are some great posts in the archives, a few of my favorites are the Farm to Table Dinner event and downtown Nevada City covered in snow. I also have a special spot for the post when I announced that we were building a campground…. so the past posts are fun– perhaps I should highlight a few of them. Thanks for playing along.
2nd entry….shared on Facebook too. I’m going to follow your blog more closely because I want to plan a spring trip and stay at the Inn. And I’m happy to share links on my fb page.
I love our community. What an incredible giveaway! Thank you for all your posts and beautiful photos! Merry Christmas.
Thank you! It’s kinda crazy to admit that in the new year I will 1000 blog posts (wow, that’s a silly amount of time if you think of it like that). Happy holidays.
Just signed up for the blog! I’m really excited to receive the information about the campground happenings and things going on in the area. I love your posts on Facebook and the beautiful photos. We’ve been to the campground once and really loved it. We’re looking forward to another stay! Keep up the good work!!
Thanks! I generally post the campground fun and games over on the campground’s blog, http://inntowncampground.com/blog but I do on a rare occasion toot the campground’s horn over here.
Love everything about this Erin! Even as a local I look forward to your blog posts. They highlight all the amazing things happening in our special little town. Merry Christmas to you and the family.❤️
Happy holidays my friend!!! Hope you got your final paper done and are home relaxing with those boys.
I love your little Inn and all your pointers to things going on in our little town. We moved here 4 years ago and just love it! I love when you post something that we don’t know about so we can go explore that. I also love the sharing produce stand you have by the Inn, its sweet to share those home grown items.
Hoping to win the big box , so I finally got on here to post. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, happy holidays! There really is so much to explore, even my 2019 short list is long.
I love reading the blog, I always learn new things about our amazing little town. Thank you for putting so much love into it. Happy Holidays!
We love Nevada City!
I love your shiny silver streak 🙂
I so enjoy your photos of beautiful Nevada County!
Thanks!
It unfortunately has been too many years since my husband and I have had the joy of being in the Nevada City/Grass Valley area. We used to spend quite a bit of time there. I remember a couple of very memorable trips when the beauty of the area helped me get some peace and perspective as I was in the midst of personal struggles. The pictures of the Yuba River, in particular, have been favorites of mine. Thank you for sharing the beauty and fun of this area! We hope to come back soon, and have a better chance now that we have returned to California!
Look forward to having you visit when you get the opportunity, happy holidays.
Wow! That is the best giveaway ever! Would love to win and if I do I have a huge family to share with! #thereismorehappinessingivingthaninreceiving

Shared on my FB page! 🙂
I love how all your photos showcase the best parts of this town.
Thanks, happy holidays.
Oh Erin! Every year, I am amazed with how much you give to our community! It’s not just your blog! It’s the free farm stand out front, the amazing seasonal display of decorations on the Inn, the Halloween walk through, and ALL of the gorgeous photos you capture of our community in action, and of our local, incredible nature. I was touched to see you out very early one morning, preparing for the photo shoot for this giveaway. You are endlessly generous and give so much to our community! Thank you, so much! ~maya
I love that you caught us in action taking this photo (and I will admit that it is nice that no one ran us over while we worked in the middle of the street)– but kudos to Kial for getting out bed and helping me with these photos. Community in action is a great description. Happy holidays!
*** i signed my mom up for the blog 🙂 I know she will be so touched to receive Nevada County updates. I’m taking a 2 week social media pause… so, unfortunately, can’t post anywhere.
I loved reading this post on the tribute trail. I took my family down for a nice hike and everyone has a great time.

Always loving all the Nevada city downtown and river photos, good food and great people. Really makes me miss home! Nice job
Miss home, did you leave? I just saw you eating persimmons…. Happy holidays!
This blog is great. Today was the first I heard of it and I’m excited to look through all your posts! So far, this post is my favorite. I’m still fairly new to Nevada county so I liked reading adult what your blog is about, also. I’m going to like and share on Facebook now.
You can definitely like this one best– I only manage to pull this off once a year.
I do not know if I wrote here already, but Incase I did not… I love Outside Inn’s promotion of our community. It brings us all together. The blogs are informative and helpful!
My son is in the AF stationed at Beal. I fell in love with Nevada City the first time I came to visit him. Then you popped up in my Instagram feed (scary how that works ) and I started following you there, and here on your blog. I have learned so much about the community and surrounding area because of you and feel more connected to my sons life because of itand I have considered NC as I research places to become my new home. ❤️Merry Christmas!
The internet works in mysterious ways (I think about all those items I leave in an online cart that somehow find their way into my FB feed and google ads), but I promise I’m not stalking you or making you buy something… just sharing Nevada City 🙂 Glad we can make you feel like you know your son’s new backyard, hopefully you’ll get a chance to visit.
Thank you for sharing your passion for this incredible City. It’s a gem and you capture it perfectly.
Thank you, although I will certainly give credit to some of the other photographers who have helped me showcase our beautiful little town. Happy holidays.

Erin, the work you do is an incredible service to our community. I love being subscribed to the Outside Inn blog email list because I never miss a community event. I love your posts about things to do outside with kiddos and I hope to make it to one of your photography meetups in 2019!

Our family has always loved the Outside Inn!! Thanks for everything, Erin!
I have loved getting to know the area. I have learned of so many lovely businesses and places because of your blog!
Wowza! That’s quite a gift basket, Someone is going to be a very happy camper! I love anything that’s supports our beautiful city. Hubby and I recently wandered the streets and enjoyed the feeling of Christmas that Nevada City shows so well. I was amazed to find a wonderful store that I didn’t even know was there!
We left with bags full of food goodies like yummy bread pudding, macaroni and cheese, and an abundance of chocolate. Love this city! I’m signing up for your blog so I keep up on all events, new merchants, and general information. Merry Christmas!
I love this awesome blog because it highlights all the fun things to do in this county. I often hear “Mom. I’m bored” and when i am stumped on what to do, I glance at the blog for ideas. It often highlights fun adult things to do as well.

I love everything about your blog! It’s the first place I look to see what’s going on in town. You make it all look so magical and inviting. Even though I live in town, the thought of staying so close to home, and the beauty of the Inn, will hopefully have me on a mini vacation soon.
We fully support staycations! Best way to beat the traffic. Happy holidays.
Your pictures always bring a smile to my face!

We stayed at the Outside Inn many years ago while the floors in our Nevada City home were being refinished. The cabin we received was amazing. It was a mini vacation! We recommend the Outside Inn whenever we have out of town visitors.
I missed the Union article so I’m glad to see your post. What a generous giveaway! Looking forward to visiting the shop.
