Ike’s Quarter Cafe
It’s that time of the year when you have to walk up Commercial Street to check out the Cherry Blossom tree blooming on the patio at Ike’s Quarter Cafe. The Louisiana cuisine restaurant has been “Keepin it Creole” since 2001 and serving up breakfast and lunch to lots of locals and visitors. You can check out their menu online, but I’d recommend the Banana Brown Sugar and Pecan French Toast or the Audubon Gasser. Ike’s uses locally sourced organic ingredients and has options for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. Local vendors include: Back to Basics Farm, First Rain Farm, The James Ranch, Riverhill Farm, Sierra Starr Vineyards, Super Tuper Farm, to name a few. Open Thursday-Monday 8am-3pm, friendly reminder they are a cash only business. What’s your favorite dish? When you stop by Ike’s this weekend please tell them the Outside Inn sent you. Post a comment on this blog post to be in the draw for a $15 gift certificate to Ike’s Quarter Cafe, winner will be announced on Tuesday, April 17th. *Edited to say the winner is: Jane Smith.
