Sierra Stages kicks off their summer season with the James and the Giant Peach. The musical is based on the popular Roald Dahl book and is an entertaining story for the whole family to enjoy. The play follows James Henry Trotter’s adventures from the orphanage to his evil aunts’ house to a magical adventure with give unusual insects. Opening night is Thursday, July 12th and the play continues at the historic Nevada Theatre through August 4th. Directed by Robert Rossman, music direction by Ken Getz and including a cast including: Micah Cone, Kate Haight, Danny McCammon, Bren Altenbach, Darrell Hovander, Tina Marie Kelley, Susan Mason, Dawn Simmons, Angela Williams, Audrey Delgado, Katie Dorland, Triston Druktenis, Vicki Goss, Jozi Gullickson, Reyn Smith, Mimi Vishoot and Jasper Waters.

Words and music for James and the Giant Peach are by Academy Award-winning songwriting team behind the musicals A Christmas Story and the movies La La Land and The Greatest Showman, so this is a treat to have a chance to see the play in action in downtown Nevada City.
