Schad Studio at Broad Street Bistro
Nevada County Artist Kath Schad has a exhibit of her fine art up this month at Broad Street Bistro. “My new Aspen/Birch Tree work is definitely Sierra based. I adore the higher elevation terrain, the snow, Aspen, Tahoe boulders and Sierra Mountain lakes,” explains Kath. Look for her work at the upcoming Sierra Festival of the Arts in Grass Valley on May 26th, Spirit Gallery in Truckee and the North Tahoe Open Studio Tour mid July. Later this fall Kath will be showcased as the “Artist of the Month” at Riverside Studios in Truckee and participating in the Nevada County Open Studios Tour in October. Kath has offered up a set of her Farm Art greeting cards to one lucky Outside Inn blog reader, please post a comment on this blog post on the importance of celebrating art and I’ll draw the winner on Tuesday, May 21st (happy to mail cards if you live outside of Nevada City). And the winner for the Top Drawer giveaway is Chip.

I think art is good for many things-appreciating it and doing it. Art has helped me heal these past 10 years from brain surgery. I like the places I go when doing art.
Thanks Rosanne, I agree. Keep up the great work.
What an extraordinary use of colors to depict the Sierra majesty!
We will look forward to visiting Broad Street Bistro To view Ms Schad’s work soon.
Great blog feature highlighting the wonderful art Nevada County has to offer. Thank You Erin! We are lucky to have you spreading the good news for Nevada County!

You’re welcome Kath, thanks for the giveaway.
Art gives us a new perspective on the world — a new way of looking at trees, barns, seasons…and without art, life would be pretty joyless.
“The EARTH without ART is just EH.”
Thanks for highlighting Kath’s work. It’s GORGEOUS!

What at beautiful showing Katherine. Wonderful choice of your work.
Beautiful art pieces!
lets see .. well, as someone who tends to alienate self from the art world by saying “i’m not artistic” .. I just LOVE that art proves over and over again that all of us are indeed artistic .. maybe not in great painting kind of way .. but in all kinds of other ways — arranging furniture, making walking sticks, gardening and moving rocks …
I just love Kath’s style! Beautiful and totally sensational! Her colors are so vibrant and creamy you could almost eat them! She is an artist to watch for sure!
