Late Summer Fun

Hello end of summer, where did the time go? Are we ready for September? Excited to continue to share things that are happening, places to explore and fun happenings in Nevada City. We’ve all got a little bit of fall fever, so here are some suggestions on ways to get out, explore, learn something new or maybe just take a moment to celebrate Mother Nature.
Outdoor Adventures

- Go whitewater rafting on the South Fork of the American or check out Tributary Whitewater for a guided white water rafting trip on the Middle Fork American River. A perfect pairing for your Nevada City vacation, their rafting trips run all summer long and have 1/2 day options for young families (ages 4+) via the Lower Middle Fork. Looking for a bit more spice? Hop on the famed 1-day Class IV Middle Fork trip and head down Tunnel Chute! For an unique experience that only runs in the spring, you don’t want to miss their North Yuba River rafting trips – a sought after run that doesn’t go every year.
- Go for a hike along the South Yuba River, explore Spenceville Wildlife Area, go for a walk in Empire Mine Historic State Park.
- Go for an urban hike and walk to the Deer Creek Tribute Trail or explore Nevada City neighborhoods or join one of the Bear Yuba Land Trust walking events.
- Bring out your bike and good for a lap on the Hoot Trail or Scotts Drop, check out the Tour of Nevada City Outpost for easy mountain bike rentals. Or start training for the Heart of Gravel event, Saturday, October 18th or the California Dirt Series on October 13th.
