Los Mineros brings a fresh twist on Mexican food to downtown Nevada City.  Always organic and as local as possible, Bay Area chef, Jason Moniz offers an authentic taste of Mexico.  Stop in and try a trio of street tacos (al pastor or marinated pork, tinga or shredded beef, pollo adobado, camarones or vegetarian).  Want to try something new?  Menu items include ensalada de aguacate y betabel: beet & avocado salad, pickled squash, pumpkin seeds, cilantro, whipped Weyward Girl requeson, guajillo chile vinaigrette and plato de carnitas: slow roasted pork shoulder, pinto beans, rice, grilled green onions, salsa fresca & tortillas.  Grab a glass of Nash’s Kombucha on tap and order some delicious food.  Located at 239 Commercial Street, next door to Cafe Mekka, Los Mineros is open Tuesday-Saturday 11:30-3:30 and 5-9pm, Sunday brunch 10am-3pm.  Live music on the Boardwalk coming this spring, check their Facebook page for more details.  The Outside Inn’s blog has a $10 gift certificate to give away, post a comment on this blog for your chance to win, winner will be announced on Wednesday, March 2nd.

    Chile Colorado has fascinating flavors, not sure from what spices but who cares? Want to try carnitas but they have not been available the 2 times I have been there. Back to check soon!

    More great food in Nevada City! Delicious for lunch or dinner. Kid friendly. Brings good vibe to boardwalk area too.
