Nevada City Craft Fair

The 8th annual Nevada City Craft Fair turned the Miners Foundry into a bustling holiday market.  The Bi-Annual event is a great way to support artisans, do some shopping and meet some of the makers.  The independent, juried craft fair showcased over sixty of the local region’s top Etsy vendors, artisans, designers, do-it-yourself crafters, and featured handmade, original and repurposed art, clothing, accessories, jewelry, gifts.  Outside of the Foundry Victorian Christmas was in full swing, it was great to see so much activity in downtown Nevada City.

“We started the event years ago as a group of local artists inspired by the independent entrepreneurship and creative talents of those around us. We do emphasize that it is the premiere event to see and purchase handmade items from local and regional artists and makers because it is. The craft fair is so wonderfully unique that it continues to grow and support local artists by providing a platform that raises awareness about the young DIY crafters and artists in our community and helps them sell their wares, while also networking and building connections with other like-minded communities that can hopefully help to expand their business. It is also hosted at the Miners Foundry, a historic building which was built by hand from local timber and stone. We are pretty lucky to have such a cool event in our community!” said co-founder Jesse Locks.  Gretchen Bond, Executive Director of the Miners Foundry, said, “We are the community home to the arts and culture, people experience and create art here nearly every day.”
