Are you interested in listening to live music?  Nevada City and Grass Valley have a lot of great options.  Just this weekend you’ve got the option of Achilles Wheel and the Dead Beats at the Miners Foundry and local Grammy nominated Secret Agent 23 Skidoo at The Center for the Arts.  While the Taj Mahal Trio concert on Sunday night in Grass Valley is sold out, if you’re looking for more local music options check out the live music calendars at a number of downtown restaurants. Matteo’s Public offers a variety of blues, jazz and original songwriters, Friar Tuck’s welcomes local favorites John Girton and George Souza.  The Crazy Horse Saloon & Grill has a regular line up of musician, click here, next weekend they welcome back local favorites Paige Anderson and the Fearless Kin.  The Haven Downtown, Old 5 Mile House and the Stonehouse Brewery are other local venues to check out.  InConcert Sierra offers monthly classical concerts.  Don’t forget to mark your calendars for upcoming music shows with the Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival, Music in the Mountains, California Worldfest and Celtic Festival all coming up later year.  Other great free concerts include Nevada City Summer Nights and First Friday Art Walk.  Feel free to follow along with my weekly events board for a shout out local events week by week.  What’s your favorite music event locally?  Leave a comment and share.
