It’s one of my favorite days of the year!!! Coffee lovers, unite!! I’m so excited about this giveaway. Happy National Coffee Day! My local coffee place, Foxhound, has the BEST beans – the Ethiopian Guji mix. 😀
Coffee, like ice cream, is lovely in all its variations. But if I had to choose it would be a cup of Caroline’s from the Inn Town Campground store!
Mmm, coffee. Can’t wait to check out a few of these! Thanks as always for the reminder of how varied (and richly caffeinated) our little town is.
Love the Mexi mocha at Fables coffee!
What a great giveaway! I love coffee! My favorite drink would have to be white chocolate mocha.
In the morning, it’s black French Roast. Afternoons are nonfat flavored lattes! ❤️❤️❤️☕️☕️☕️
Perfect combo of emoticons. If you ever have a backwards day and have breakfast for dinner you’ll have to remember to flip your coffee schedule too.
One half cup of coffee filled with whole milk or half & half. Boston Cream.
Enjoy! Are there local spots that you recommend for that drink?
You know I’m totally up for a good cup of coffee. Thanks for sharing all of the excellent cafes and coffee shops in our area.
Thank you for your continued moral support– amazingly I made this deadline.. but probably earned an extra cup of coffee in the race against the clock.
I’m sure you do deserve an extra cup. 🙂
Iced Caffè latte in the summer… Cappuccino in the winter!
I am a fan of the iced latte too… and since I decided to opt out of the straw agenda, I’m not the girl with my to go cup and a Klean Kanteen straw with my iced coffee drink.
How would we ever know about all the goodness that our community offers without this blog? I have never heard of the following biz’s and will have to give them a try. Happy National Coffee Day to you too.
Break Caffee Espresso
Crumbunny Coffee Roasters
Cruz Through Coffee
Spring Street Market
Greetings… to help you in your research, Break Caffee is located in Kurt’s Garden next to Natural Selections. Crumbunny is behind the crepe place in Nevada City. Cruz Through Coffee is part of the Florists and Spring Street Market is across from South Pine in Nevada City (and not a coffee shop, but a great place to grab a coffee when you get something to eat).
Being new to the area and a lover of great espresso, I am thrilled that there are so many places in Nevada City and Grass Valley to grab my fav coffee drink: a layered caramel macchiato with a splash of vanilla. I’ve been on the hunt the last two months for new coffee houses, so this post couldn’t have come at a better time. Cheers to all things coffee!!
Welcome to the area! It’s like a pub crawl for coffee shops… You can use this as your Saturday morning “homework” assignment. If you win one of the goodies you’ll know where to start.
My favorite coffee drink is definitely a good mocha because chocolate is my favorite!! But pumpkin spice latte is a close second ( :
I’m not sure it’s on the menu this year but in the past Summer Thyme’s had made one with real pumpkin if you’re looking for #PSL option.
Real pumpkin? No way?!? Sounds amazing. I will have to check it out and see if they have it this year….Thank you!
Favorite coffee drink? Just plain black coffee. Or an iced coffee with vanilla almond creamer. Or a delicious late. Or chocolate covered coffee beans. Or…….
I would’ve said and… and…and, why does it have to be or?
I like Caroline’s it is close to my office and can smell it I drink French Roast with Milk ❤️
That would be difficult… it’s like the Cinnabon stores in the airport– you smell it… and then you someone find yourself ordering something…
I always enjoy your coffee day post, Erin. Beautiful photos too. My local favorite is a small latte from Foxhound, but I just followed the link to BrewBakers, and am looking forward to my first visit there, whenever that may be. Thanks for reaffirming that second cup I had today
Good morning my friend! Brew Bakers is on Main Street in Grass Valley (next to Main Street Cafe) and according to our friend Georgette you have to try the coffee cake.
Yes, please!!
You were suppose to say what your favorite drink is… “yes, please”– wonder what that gets you on the menu?
MMM, I love just plain good dark coffee We are fortunate to have so many wonderful coffee places in Nevada City and Grass Valley.
The folks at Sierra Mountain Coffee roasters are so nice! I love to get a drip coffee there during my lunch break.
I am a decaf dry cappuccino girl. ❤️ Coffee!
I love a good dirty chi latte!
Have you tried the North Fork Chai yet?
My favorite coffee drink is an almond milk latte at Curly Wolf! Delicious!
Don’t know that any establishment offers my favorite, proprietary brew but if they did, I would be there! So special that friends have caught on. Suffice to say, strong, spicy and finished with warm half & half!
Oh yes! My national holiday. Thank you for this fabulous list, which I will offer to all my visitors and guests to Nevada City.
My daily drink is dark roast (preferably Love Buzz from Fair Trade) with half and half.
I’ve tried other stuff, but nothing comes close.
Mocha – anytime anywhere anyplace. My sources tell me coffee makes you live longer. I plan to live to 130.
Coffee!! The fuel behind this momma of 3 boys and wife. I sure do appreciate a good cup of coffe❤
Thank you, Erin, for the wonderful list of great places to get a good cup of coffee locally! I have not been able to afford to go out for coffee for a very long time, so I cannot pick which coffee or place I like. I haven’t been to any of these places, but, thanks you to you, I now have a list of great places I can suggest to my friends when they want to take me out for a cup of coffee! I bet a lot of them have great food, too.
Iced mocha. What a fun post!!
Hot, freshly ground french roast.
Can’t go wrong there.
I love the Flat Whites from Curly Wolf
Always a good choice, my love affair with flat whites started in New Zealand, so it’s nice to have a local option.
Went to Crumbunny’s for the first time at NC Uncorked. Excellent cup of coffee and friendly and excellent service.
Always great to see new businesses….
COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE……
Is life without coffee really even life?? LOL
Had the privilege to stop at several of these fine coffee establishments and cant wait to come back up in November !!
My kingdom for an affogato!
Yummo! A plain ole’ latte for me!
Oh, the affogato at Treats is my jam. Sweet, bitter, hot and cold all at once. Perfection!
Iced dirty chai! Also, the iced coffee with bergamot at Fable. And Brewbakers hot regular, and I guess I just love coffee.

Nothing like a delicious Mocha on a cool early morning in our wonderful downtown Nevada City.
I love mochas! In the wintertime, I order them hot, and in the summertime I get them iced! We do have a lot of local spots to enjoy our favorites! I’ll have to check out a few I haven’t tried yet!
My favorite coffee is a rich cup of dark French roast with sweet cream! Nothing is better than pure delicious coffee!
My favorite coffee drink is an iced white mocha❤️
I do love a good iced drink… but never done a white mocha… always good to try something new (although I’ll probably just stick with cold brew).
Most mornings I make myself a latté with beans from Caroline’s. I get a latté there when I buy my beans. Occasionally I’ll stop at Sierra Mountain or Three Forks on my way to work.
Good to know you’ve got options… and I will be the first to admit that this blog post does not list every.single.option in Nevada County, keep waiting for someone to remind me….
Had np idea there were so many good coffee places in N.C./G.V. Thank you Erin.
I know! One need not go without!
Yum! I’d like to try something from Giveaway #2 Heartwood. Never hard of them but they look good! ☺️
Maybe they need your cupcakes or pies???
I’ve actually haven’t had any coffee in twenty years or more and even then it only was a couple of times. I’m a rare bird that doesn’t crave or need coffee in the morning or ever. I am interested in trying these new fancy coffee concoctions. So yes. I wanna be a winner.
You could always get a tea or a hot cocoa? Or gift the bag of coffee to someone… or eat the ice cream!
So many comments…we all love coffee! I crave it, look forward to it the night before. There’s nothing like an iced vanilla coffee, light and sweet. Sip…ah.
There’s nothing like an iced coffee on a hot day!
I love Caroline’s coffee mocha freeze! My favorite place to get coffee! Nothing else is as good as Caroline’s!
Life without coffee would be so drab! My favorite is iced coffee, all year round. Lots of cream and a little sugar. I plan on drinking more than usual on Saturday!!
Everyone who knows me, knows I love my coffee! I especially enjoy Fox Hound and Fable coffee in town. Nothing beats a dry cappuccino with a croissant, but in the summer I enjoy a cold brew with a splash of cream and a dash of simple syrup. Thanks for spreading all the coffee love, Outside Inn!
My favorite coffee drink is hands down a vanilla latte. It’s a little different at all of these places and I love them all. A friend recently brought me one from the Briar Patch and it was hands down the most amazing coffee I’ve ever had. Who knew!
And did you know that they are one of several coffee shops in our area that offer a discount if you bring your own mug?
The gift offers seem like wonderfull blends of coffee to jazz up your day and share with friends.
Love both coffee and the Celtic Music Festival! I’m happy to patronize these places all year long.
I love a latte
Hot coffee on a cold morning, perfect
My favorite black dark roast coffee!
My favorite is a mocha, iced mocha in summer, and peppermint mocha around Christmas 🙂
❤️ Flat White, Curly Wolf or wherever they know how!
You should go to New Zealand– they know how….
I Love the fact there is all kinds of different types of coffee to help set my mood to continue my day. ” For the Love of Coffee”
Thanks for including us! I celebrated coffee day by starting out my day with a Gibraltar from Outside Coffee Cart at the Farmers Market. It was fantastic! – Tony at Heartwood Eatery
There’s nothing like a good cup of hot coffee on a cool fall day. Thanks for sharing!
COFFEE! Yes please. I’m a no nonsense drip coffee kinda gal.
yummmmmm
I love a strong cup for dark roast .. with a lot of frothy milk! My friend gave me this super easy magnetic frother thing … really yummy!!
The sweet coffee drinks with chocolate are my favorite (since I’m not allowed coffee yet)
My favorite? A cup of coffee that someone else made for me!
Depends on the day, and the weather. My go to is a pour over with a splash of cream.
Did you announce the winners in this fun giveaway? Did I miss it?
It’s at the bottom of this post, under *Edited….
