The Nevada City Farmers Market kicks off their 2015 season this Saturday.  Located on Union Alley in downtown Nevada City, every Saturday morning till November 21st from 8:30am-1:00pm, the market is a great place to buy local organic fruit and vegetables, baked goods, fresh flowers, coffee and more.

Some highlights for this year, Food Love Project will have bags of locally grown peanuts, plus multi-colored popping corn, tea blends, herb starts, veggie starts, everlasting bouquets, herb bunches and microgreens.  New Dawn Bakery is introducing a new gluten and dairy free soft sandwich bread, hamburger buns in addition to their popular cinnamon rolls, sourdough and cinnamon raisin bread.   Soil Sisters Farmer will continue to grow their gorgeous flowers, plus gourmet salad mix with edible flowers and heirloom garlic.  First Rain Farm will have a Triple Crown Blackberries later in the summer and fresh nettle.  Mountain Bounty Farm is excited to have an early selection of strawberries, gorgeous greens, cherry tomatoes and loganberries.

Thanks Ruth, sometimes I’m spot on, sometimes I’m racing to the finish, but can’t wait for the summer market season, always a great community gathering.

I love just being there. It’s like a microcosm of all the best things about Nevada City — local abundance, interesting people, a festive atmosphere despite its smallness. My only complaint is that it didn’t start earlier!

Wow, Erin! Such a great giveaway! 🙂

I love all of the fresh produce from local farms. So, so good. Glad to live where I do.

I love Nevada City Farmers Market because it’s so conveniently located….I get to support our local farmers and ranchers….I get to eat healthy…I get to visit with friends…I get to be outside in the morning before it gets too hot….the list goes on. I have people coming into town with their kids for the Soapbox Derby on June 13th. I’m thinking, we’ll pick up some picnic items at the Farmers Market, listen to a little Paige Anderson and the Fearless Kin and then head off to go see some racin’!!! What a fun family day it will be!

I love that I can walk (and usually end up lugging a big bag of potatoes and peaches back up the hill). I can’t go home without Jeremy’s potatoes! What a great giveaway, I haven’t tried New Dawn or Nash’s.

Can’t WAIT for the Farmers’ Market!!! It’s one of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning after Jazzercise. Fresh everything goes in my market basket, and often I have to take a load of goodies to my car and come back again. I’m low on Frontier Angel soap, so I can load up on Saturday!!!

Beautiful, fresh produce. Tasty sweets. I love the farmer’s markets in the Sacramento area, but it is missing that special charm that I am always drawn to whenever I visit Nevada City 🙂

I haven’t been to the Nevada City Farmers’ Market–usually go to North Star House–but this article has me changing my plans for this week. Fresh veggies, bakery bread, and kombucha: gotta be there! I hope to love them all.
