Nevada City Film Festival

Nevada City, CA, is home to the “Sundance of the Sierra” also known to locals as the Nevada City Film Festival! From September 8-15, the Nevada City Film Festival makes art into a party, bringing emerging and top independent filmmakers showcasing award-winning short and feature length films from around the world to this beautiful historic town in the Sierra Foothills.  The week-long celebration of art, music, and independent filmmaking, includes film screeningsworkshops, a VR and multi-media pavilion, music concerts, live comedy with Eric Wareheim, after parties, and more!  Who’s excited about seeing Bill Nye, the Science Guy?

Spend your days swimming in one of Nevada County’s many gorgeous lakes or at the mighty Yuba River; mountain biking or hiking along miles of scenic trails; shopping local boutiques for unique handmade items; or enjoying local craft beer and wine at one of our downtown restaurants. And in the evenings enjoy world class films and entertainment in a truly festive setting.

Other happenings during film festival weekend include the 51st annual Constitution Day Parade featuring the world famous Marching Presidents, in addition to the Revolutionary War Living History at Pioneer Park, the Gold Country Duck Race on Deer Creek, and a free Nevada County Concert Band outdoor concert in the downtown historic district.

Thanks for the reminder about the film festival! You guys are so gracious about sharing what’s happening in the area. From the first time that I stayed with you — hmm, 2-3 years ago – I’ve always found your staff a wealth of knowledge about what’s happening in and around Nevada City! I’d be so honored to try out your new campground and win tickets for the film festival! Drove by the last time I stayed with you and the campground is well located and super clean and friendly. Thanks for all you do, with spunk and warmth, too!

Oh my, this sounds like so much fun and my kind of stay and play!

With closing the books, preparing for the Single Audit and auditors all summer long at work, I have not had the time to take anytime off work this summer to have a few days of fun and recharge.

I have been staying at the Outside Inn since I was a little girl, and now that I’m a freshman in college, I could use a film festival/Inn Town Campground getaway for me and my Mom.

    Peace,
    Katie
