Nevada City Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!  There is a lot going on this time of the year, click here to check out my weekly events page.  If you’re looking for a family friendly activity this holiday weekend check out the Holidays at Empire Mine, Cornish Christmas (Friday 6-9pm) or the new Legacy Presents show of Scrooge.  Or maybe you want to be a part of the #OptOutside movement, you can join the Michael Bratton Turkey Trot, Bear Yuba Land Trust Turkey Trek or take a self guided walk along the Deer Creek Tribute Trail.  If you’re going to start your holiday shopping there are a number of ways to support local artists this weekend, stop by the Country Christmas Faire, LeeAnn Brook Fine Art Gallery, Osborn Woods GallerySmallworks show at ASiF Gallery, Methodist Church Craft Fair or remember to support your local shops for Small Business Saturday.  If you’re looking for more local art fairs, click here for a recent round-up of upcoming holiday events.  Maybe you’re going to spend the weekend picking out a Nevada County grown Christmas tree or tasting flights of local wines?  Or maybe your weekend includes a concert (The Center for the Arts, Crazy Horse Saloon), Reader’s Theatre or the Warren Miller ski movie?

Join Kial James, from Nevada City Scenics and I at the Inn Town Campground on Sunday afternoon for a photo walk, all photographers welcome, no experience required.  Other activites on Sunday include the Nevada County Concert Band Old Time Holiday Radio Pageant Extravaganza at The Center for the Arts.  Plenty of fun in December, mark your calendars for Nevada City’s Victorian Christmas (December 3rd, 19th, 13th, 17th and 20th) and Nevada City Craft Fair (December 10th).  And I just might have another over the top huge blog giveaway… coming soon.
