New Rome Breads
For those of you who love fresh bread, have you ever considered trying a bread share? Every week you get to try something different, all made with local and organic ingredients. Sasha Coben recently started New Rome Breads, a Nevada City bread share based out of Gaia’s Hearth Kitchen, and every week my family eagerly awaits for our Monday delivery of goodies. The subscription offers a variety of delicious baked goods such as soft sandwich bread, sesame egg bagels, almond flax loaves, challah, potato garlic rolls, spicy herb crackers, plus gluten/dairy free dinner rolls and loaves. The bread share occasionally includes sweet treats as well such as lemon squares, cookies, and baklava. Local and organic ingredients are sourced as much as possible including eggs, grains, and herbs. New Rome Breads also has options for those with dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and dairy free, but please note there is currently a waiting list and the cost does vary. To try the bread share subscription, choosing either a full or half-share ($4/week or $8/week, price varying from $16 or $20 to $32 or 40/month depending on how many weeks), or for more info, contact Sasha at NewRomeBreads@gmail.com. Breads are delivered within Nevada City and Grass Valley only. So, now I’m guessing you’re hungry? Well good thing, because Sasha has offered up one free half-share for the month of September for one lucky Outside Inn blog reader, please post a comment on this blog post on your favorite type of bread and I’ll draw the winner on Friday, August 30th. And the winners from last week’s giveaways…. drum roll please… the Community Canvas winner is Patrick, the Fable Coffee winner is Judy Madden and the Peaceful Valley seed packets go to Cheryl.

Yum! Hope she has rye bread in the rotation!
Wow! This looks amazing!
Yummy! Nothing beats fresh out of the oven 🙂
nothing better than fresh bread – happy to hear someone is providing this service for our community. I look forward to hearing more and trying some of New Rome Breads creations
It all looks delicious! A free month sounds great, but we may have to check it out regardless.
so exciting! i love the baklava she makes! i can’t wait to try her breads. thanks for shinning light on this great local artisan erin!
Drooling. Thank you for letting me know about this. (And thanks for this morning) — Diane Keaton
Sounds great! Sourdough rye would top my list.
This is really awesome I didn’t know it existed…. Sourdough is my favorite bread :-))
That raisin bread looks so yummy! Thanks for all the wonderful pics. Just beautiful…
Yummy! Definitely sourdough. Or cinnamon raison. Or monkey bread. Too many breads to choose from!
I wish I lived in Nevada City, I just love this bread share, all those delicious breads and that cute lil’baker!
How clever! Sometimes bread has been the main dinner dish, along with ice cream for dessert!
This is a great idea! I never make time to make my own bread any more. A multi-grain & seed bread is my go to bread, but what I really love is sweet bread. Like the Hawaiian bread you find in the supper market and the breaded breads my Mom made at Easter.
Thanks for sharing this Erin.
Cheers!
Wow, this is a great idea! I already have a flower share, and a farm card now someone needs to come up with a wine or beer share!
I think you might be on to something here Karen.
Mmmmmmm, Sourdough…with butter. I LOVE SOURDOUGH & BUTTER ERIN!! (thank you & I’m sorry for yelling about it.) xo
Yum…. a good sourdough is my fave!
Yumm….. I want to try them all! What a fabulous idea.
Love a good sourdough, and all sweets, and especially chocolate.
