North Columbia Schoolhouse

Nevada City's North Columbia Schoolhouse

The North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center, originally built in 1875, is located out on the San Juan Ridge and provides a venue for the community to gather, learn and celebrate.  Last night the Center hosted an artist reception for the local art community, displaying works by Greta Broda, Ron Kenedi and Paul Thompson, to name a few.  There are a number of fun events coming up this summer, click here…  The Sierra Storytelling Festival is right around the corner and the fabulous folks out the North Columbia Schoolhouse and offered one lucky InnSide Nevada City blog reader a pair of tickets to the event on Sunday, July 21st (you can go to the Open Telling, the Children’s Concert and/or the Ovation Concert).  Please post a comment on this blog post on why you’d like to go and I’ll draw the winner on Saturday, June 22nd.

it is my favorite event up on the ridge. the venue is amazing…an outdoor amphitheater in the woods. a great time to pack a picnic, connect with community, and hear great stories.

hope to see you all there!

I’d really love to win a free ticket! My 4 yr old daughter always wants stories– “telling” stories, as opposed to “talking” stories (her distinction of the difference she’s noticed when I am trying to teach her something with my tale versus just telling a story). She’s started telling me stories now, too. I need inspiration, and I’d love to show her some real storytelling talent! Thanks for the great blog, and opportunity for free ticket!
