Olive Vitality
Olive Vitality, a brand new ultra-premium extra virgin olive oil tasting room opened its doors this weekend in downtown Grass Valley. The shop provides top quality olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars from around the world, all at extremely affordable prices. Stop in and visit with owners Jeanette and Matt, they’re eager to share their love and knowledge of the olive oils and vinegars. The tasting bar in the center of the shop provides sample pairings, but every oil on tap is available to be tried. In the month of April they’re providing special free after hour tasting parties, call them to book yours today (530-273-8336). The tasting room is open seven days a week at 126 Mill Street, next to Grass Valley Wine Company. Jeanette has offered up a free olive oil and balsamic vinegar to one lucky InnSide Nevada City blog reader, please post a comment on this post with what you’d cook if you won and I’ll draw the winner on Monday, April 1st.

Homemade pesto for pesto pasta!
Oh that sounds delicious.
I would love to have it just to dip bread in!! Looks like a fun and unique new addition to downtown Grass Valley!
Bread and olive oil, never a bad pairing.
Cocktail Party Inspiration! I would set up a dipping medley with a variety of flavored olive oils and would accompany it with Dupre’s Sourdough or Truckee Sourdough. Anyone know where I can find compartmentalized appetizer plates with 3 or 4 small sections?
Yum, can I come???
I’d make balsamic vinegrate dressing to put over a mixed greens salad with candied walnuts, feta and crispy apple slices.
Wow, you’re making me hungry, that sounds delicious. I’m confident you’d find a perfect vinegar for your dressing at this new shop.
the essential ingredient to salad dressing and oven roasted chicken!
Cook? I want to dip bread in it. So happy they are offering this to us in Nevada County!
I love good olive oil… I must check this place out.
Oh, this looks great! I want to use this olive oil in my bread! And in salad dressing, and for dips, and I could go on forever…
last night i made spinach with mushrooms, artichoke hearts and roasted garlic. After cooking it I drizzled just a touch of some good olive oil. I bet they have a good oil for this!
That’s fantastic. I hope they thrive!
Oh, yeah, what would I make with it. I use olive oil in everything but I guess I’d start with pesto. Especially when we get some basil from the garden.
I would make pesto with it and then mix with pasta and fresh tomatoes!
Sounds like a wonderful marinade and dressing for some grilled chicken served on a nice salad!
I would make a chocolate mousse with a balsamic strawberry sauce…. Then with the olive oil, some bruschetta with homemade sourdough and tomates and basil. SO excited for summer!
