Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply

While the weather doesn’t necessarily scream garden time, now is actually a really good time to think ahead.  Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply just reopened their 2,500 square foot retail shop in Grass Valley after an extensive remodel.  With over 4000 items in stock, in addition to the extensive online catalogue (GrowOrganic.com), there’s something for every season.  Owned by Eric & Pattie Boudier since 1976, “Every year, we see many new growers joining our loyal customer base, confirming the significance of this healthy, home-grown, local food movement.”  The nursery currently has  over 160 varieties of Bareroot Fruit Trees, Potted Fruit Trees (Figs, Pomegranates, Olives, Kiwi, Almond, and Goji), Herbs, Succulents, Perennials and Native plants.  Winter is a great time to stock up on trees, vegetable crowns, vegetable seeds, cover crop seed, frost protection and green house supplies, soil tests, pest control, dormant tree sprays & sprayers, quality tools, and organic fertilizers.  With over 500 organic seed packets to choose from, you’re likely to find something you’re looking for (and maybe something you weren’t?).You can alway sign up for their free workshops, upcoming winter classes include “Growing Blueberries”, “How to Grow Perennial Vegetables”, “Planting a Cutting Garden” or “Planting a Butterfly Garden”.  Located at 125 Clydesdale Ct, next door to the Gold Rush Climbing Gym, currently open Monday-Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm until 3/31, Monday-Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm & Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm April through June.
