See Jane Do Passion for Action
See Jane Do Passion for Action is coming to town and it’s one of those events you need to experience. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 31st at River Highlands Ranch. The women’s only sleep over event is an opportunity to come out and play, relax, and recharge. “The event showcases real women with real solutions; mixing local and non-local female leaders, visionaries, artists and celebrates, female empowerment in all its forms. This inspired gathering of hearts and minds creates a space for women to tap into their passions, and through action, make them a reality,” says Elisa Parker, Executive Director of See Jane Do. “I’m thrilled to be a featured speaker at the Passion Into Action event this month. This will be my second time attending, but first as a speaker. I’m looking forward to highlighting my cancer story and talking about how it completely changed my life for the better. Having a life threatening illness gave me a new outlook on life, has set me on the right path for my work and has influenced me to be a more compassionate person. My hope is to inspire others to live happier, healthier lives and to ignite their passion within,” Kayle Martin, Collards and Cowgirls 2 time cancer survivor. “When I left I truly was transformed by the uplifting and powerful speakers that were sharing progressive ideas” last year and this now “I feel honored to be part of the event,” said artist Ruth Chase. “See Jane Do Passion into Action is a grass roots event led by women for women and of our community. The event has served as a launchpad for women to launch their dreams, projects and ideas. For example,Heidi Hall announced she was running for US Congress, Heather Donahue launched Prettywell, Mary Elizabeth Young made the leap to write her first book, Heidi LeVell started Nacho Kitty, Shea Smith created HALLo, a health alternative for locals in Nevada County from their participation in Passion into Action. Women no longer want to be the bystanders and listen to talking heads. We actually want to be part of the solution and be engaged. Our event goes beyond talking heads and provides tools for women to move into action. Coupled with the See Jane Do Slumber Party which provides space to connect with amazing women from our community and come out and play, this event not only serves as a roadmap to creating a new dream for our country but provides a platform for women to celebrate their best selves. PIA amplifies the pioneering spirit that Nevada County is known for,” explained Elisa Parker.
