Sierra Stages Blithe Spirit

Sierra Stages

Sierra Stages Play

Sierra Stages kicked off their 2020 season with the comedy classic Blithe Spirit at the Nevada Theatre.  The play, by English playwright Noël Coward, brings laughter and chaos to socialite and novelist Charles Condomine’s séance with eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati.  Caught between one live wife and one dead wife — both jealous of the other — Charles thinks matters couldn’t be worse. Love, life and marriage quickly devolve into laughter and mayhem.  Directed by Scott Gilbert with Katherine Adrian, John Gardiner, Kate Haight, Sylvie Hitchcock, Steve Lambert, Lauren Langley and Sara Noah.  The play runs through March 21st with evening performances on Friday & Saturday, Sunday matinee and a special show on Thursday, March 19th.  You can buy tickets online or give Sierra Stages a call for group tickets for parties of 10 or more.  If you’re thinking of going to all the upcoming Sierra Stages performances it’s worthwhile to check out their 2020 season pass.  Sierra Stages is excited to being their 12th Season with their 40th staged production (you can check out the Theater by the Book at the Miners Foundry through out the calendar year).  Managing director Peter Mason said, “Folks should come out and support local theater!  There’s nothing like sitting in an audience and watching live theater.  We have amazing local talent in our community — actors, directors, designers and theatre technicians.  And, “Blithe Spirit” is fun and entertaining and a great escape from everyday life.   Make it a big event and go out to dinner or lunch before the show and support local businesses.”  Post a comment if you’d like to win a pair of tickets for this upcoming weekend’s show, the winner will be announced on Thursday, March 5th.  **Edited to say the winner is Megan.

As a child my mom always took me to plays and it was such a fun experience. I have been able to take my daughter to a couple plays but would love to continue the tradition.

I’m always amazed by the variety of theater we have in our small community, so yes, definitely support encouraging the younger generations to get involved.

Sierra Stages puts on some great shows, and this is one I’m eager to see. I hope to win free tix, but I won’t be bummed if I have to buy mine.
