The Sierra Vintners Spring Regional wine trail is coming up, next Saturday, May 19th. The regional wine tour will include: Avanguardia Wines, Bent Metal Winery, Gray Pine Winery,  Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery, Nevada City Winery, Smith Vineyard and Szabo Vineyards.  Each winery will have music, food pairings and plenty of wines to taste.  Stop by any one of the seven participating wineries on Saturday, May 19th between 11am-5pm.

In addition to wine tastings, the stop at Smith Vineyards is also a celebration to Gary & Christina Smith who are retiring at the end of the month.  So if you’ve never been to their vineyard, it is time to motivate!  Mario & Linda will have fun Lucchesi games tradition of hula tossing and steer roping to win deep wine discounts.  Avanguardia presents our delicious, unique & award-winning wines, live music with Bob Mora & John Guerra,  and special treats for pairing, including caviar with our sparkling wine, “L’edonista”.

To purchase your tickets online purchase click here, discounted tickets available for wine club members.

There are 19 wineries on the entire trail, so Sierra Vintners wineries have divided into two separate Saturday events to enable you to enjoy plenty of time at each winery.  If you can’t make the May wine tour mark your calendars for the fall tour September 22nd with Bear River WineryBonitata Boutique Wine, Fawnridge Winery, Lone Buffalo Vineyards & Winery, Mt. Vernon Winery, Naggiar Vineyards, Sierra Knolls Vineyards, and Viña Castellano.

So cheers to lots of great local wines.  If you’re looking for more information about Nevada City and Grass Valley wine tasting rooms or events, click here for the Outside Inn info page.  And if you’ve made it this far, cheers, I’ve got a pair of tickets to giveaway for the May wine tour, post a comment here on your favorite wine and I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday, May 16th.

We did this wine tour last year and enjoyed the day so much! So many beautiful locations for these wineries in our area. We are truly fortunate to have these local wineries we can tour. Looking forward to re-visiting many of the same locations as last year’s tour, as well as a couple that will be new to us!
