Sierra Vintners Regional Wine Trail
The Sierra Vintners wine trail returns Saturday, July 16th. The regional wine tour will include: Avanguardia Wines, Bent Metal Winery, Coufos Cellars, Grant-Marie Winery, Gray Pine Winery, Pilot Peak Winery, Smith Vineyard and Szabo Vineyards. Each winery will have music, food pairings and plenty of wines to taste. Stop by any one of the six participating wineries on Saturday, July 16th between 11am-5pm.
Bent Metal Winery will have food by Caramelized Catering, including sun-dried tomato marinated chicken and vegetable skewers over orzo salad and a dark chocolate brownie, plus music by The Gary and Eva Quartette. Avanguardia Wines will have skewered Italian shrimp with pesto pasta salad, plus a pairing taste off with beef and pork jerky. Smith Vineyards opens up their picturesque red barn only twice a year, so if you’ve tasted their wine at the their downtown Grass Valley tasting room and want to visit the winery, this is one of those opportunities.
If you can’t make the July wine tour mark your calendars for the September 24th event including: Double Oak Vineyards & Winery, Lucchesi Vineyards & Winery, Nevada City Winery, Solune Winegrowers, Katoa Cellars and Sierra Sky Winery.
So cheers to lots of great local wines. If you’re looking for more information about Nevada City and Grass Valley wine tasting rooms or events, click here for the Outside Inn info page. And if you’ve made it this far, cheers, I’ve got a pair of tickets to giveaway for the July wine tour, post a comment here on your favorite wine and I’ll announce the winner on Thursday, July 14th.

My favorite is the Petite-Petit from Bent Metal. I’d love to go to this and take my mom!
I Love the Barbera from Nevada City Winery!!! It’s amazing!!!
Love everything from Pilot Peak – especially their port! We’re so luck to have so many wonderful wineries right in our own backyard!
Cheers!
I’d love to check out some of our area wineries! My favorite wine is a Pinot Grigio.
I love the wines from lucchesi.
For the summer, I love a nice crisp Sauvignon Blanc.
Hard to pick, probably Smith’s Three Brothers blend!
I love the new Sauvignon Blanc at Smith. The Alpenglow at Nevada City Winery in a Sangria, yes please. Love to go tasting with my mom.
