Interested in learning more about Nevada County wines?  The Sierra Vintners Wine Trail is a two day event, June 2nd and 3rd that really allows visitors to get to know the wine in the region. Fifteen different wineries throughout the area welcome new visitors to come and sample wines, food and come have a chat with the winemakers.  Wine Tasting at Sierra Starr Vineyard, Grass Valley

Jack Starr mixing up some possible options of Jack’s blend at Sierra Starr Vineyard in their barrel room.  The newly constructed wine making facility has some great features, so while most of Sierra Starr tastings happen at their downtown Grass Valley tasting room, this event is a great opportunity to explore the new facility.  Make sure you ask Phil for a tour and Anne for a wine club membership form while chilling on the lawn listening to the Star People.

Penn Valley Wine Tasting

Pilot Peak Winery in Penn Valley was rocking by the time we turned up, Dream and the Dreamer’s music had the wine tasters up and dancing on the lower patio.  While the wine was flowing, the sangria was too good to pass up on a glass (or two).  The working artist Kathy Wronski was on deck to showcase some of her pet portraits and oil paintings.  Good times were had by all, many thanks to all the participating wineries.  For additional photos from this year and last year’s event click here.  There’s still time to enjoy the second day of the event, tickets available at any of the participating wineries.  We promise you’ll have a good time.
