Lake Tahoe's Sugar Bowl Ski Resort

Have you been skiing this winter?  Sugar Bowl Ski Resort is only 45 minutes from Nevada City and recently got a foot of new snow.  The ski resort has been in operation since 1939 and recently took over management of Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort.  Spring weather is coming, in Lake Tahoe that could mean warm sunny days, or another foot of snow.  So why not get out those skis and head up the hill.  Lunch on the deck of the Sugar Bowl Lodge is never a bad way to pass the afternoon.  Check out their Facebook page for updates, contests and events.

Beautiful day on the mountain and; I say this figurively since Sugar Bowl Resort has always felt like my mountain, since working there over a decade ago. The resort being so close to home, and as in Nevada City I would guess that many others feel as if it’s their mountain too! Someone this weekend in talking about Sugar Bowl said you aren’t a true skier if you live in Nevada City and haven’t had a pass to Sugar Bowl.
