Smith Vineyards
Smith Vineyard opens their rustic barn to wine lovers for the three Saturdays (10/10, 10/17 and 10/24) in October (noon-4pm). If you’ve never had a chance to visit their vineyard, this is a great opportunity to chat with the wine makers, bring a picnic lunch, do a tasting of their new wines and pick a pumpkin in their pumpkin patch. Many thanks to Gary & Chris for a great family friendly Saturday afternoon activity. If you can’t make it out the winery, feel free to visit the Smith Vineyard downtown tasting room and enjoy a cheese platter and catch up with a friend. If you’re looking to explore other Gold Country wineries or downtown tasting rooms, check out the Outside Inn’s wine tasting page for more photos and information. What’s your favorite local winery or wine event? Post a comment and share.

Thank you Donna.
Ooh. Pick me, pick me! :). We won some tickets (from you, Erin!) to the wine/food pairing event in downtown Grass Valley back in the spring – and it was so much fun! Thanks for your giveaways, and for all the info you provide about the community. Love this blog.
So glad you’re continuing to enjoy the goodies from the blog, always fun to hear. Cheers, wine tastings are always worthwhile!
Fun, I didn’t know that Smith opens their barn in October. Thanks for always keeping us posted on all the great things happening around town!
It’s a treat to visit Kelly, they have done wine tours in the past (this year they were in July), but the barn visits for October are a lot more mellow.
Beautiful pictures at Smith’s, Erin…excited to check it out soon. Lucchessi’s in GV still has my heart, but so many good wineries to choose from around here. SPOILED.
You can share the love, more wine is always a good idea, right?
Looks like fun. Your pictures are gorgeous!!
Thank you.
I love reading your blog!
Thank you, we can learn something new, including me!
Thanks for keeping us up to date on NC County happenings, Erin!
With pleasure Lisa, if you win, you bring the bottle of wine to our next crafty gathering.
Naggiar vineyards has fun music on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer in addition to dinner. Very pretty setting!
Thanks Debbie, they’ve also got food, which is a major bonus!
Thanks for continually reminding us of all the wonderful things our county has to offer.
Cheers! Next up, I need to know more about those amazing pillows you’re making…
We would love to go to the Vineyard but can’t find the address anywhere.

Oh.my.ghee! This sounds like a perfect fall activity!!!
Agreed, hope you made it out, even though the weather wasn’t as sunny and warm…
I’d love that since my last name will soon return to smith
Thinking of you my friend.
Love your posts and feel so very blessed to call this beautiful place ‘home.’
I completely agree.
What a fun fall activity!
Thank you, Erin, for keep us posted 🙂
Thanks Diane.
Great, I still have time to catch one of the tours / tastings! Cool weather means a switch in my palate and red wine is what is at the top of the list! Thanks for letting us know about this and so many other local events.
We are looking forward to running out to catch their final fall tasting out at the vineyard. It always so beautiful out there.
Also looking forward to reading your blogs. I just found out about you. Love your fall colors in the pics.
We went to Smith’s Family Vineyard last weekend to see their lovely barn, & taste their wonderful wines. The property may have been owned by my great-grandparents in the early 1900’s. Still researching that possibility.Their hospitality was fabulous, fun to meet the wine makers. Enjoyed a picnic before the rain came again. Also joined their wine club.
