Soup Season
A warm bowl of soup on a cold evening is a great meal, especially when made with fresh ingredients grown by your local farmers. Last night the Living Lands Agrarian Network hosted a soup night at the Stonehouse. Three different varieties of delicious soups were served up to the farmers, the board members and the volunteers that help make the LLAN a success. Want to learn how to make your own perfect bowl of soup? Wendy Van Wagner, of In the Kitchen, recently shared the recipe for her Winter Vegetable and Green Lentil Soup. Stop by her class this Saturday with the The Art of Real Food with Joanne Neft and Laura Kenny to learn more about seasonal cooking with local ingredients. Or try the In the Kitchen Soup Focus Group next Monday, November 12th, click here for more details. There are two more Nevada City Farmers Markets left in the 2012 season, stop by Saturday morning between 8:30 and 12:30 and stock up on some fresh ingredients for your perfect bowl of soup.
