South Yuba River, Washington
School’s starting and while it may mean the end of summer vacation for some, many of us think now is really the perfect time to go to the South Yuba River! Here are a few photos from a trip last month with my friend Moira, she decided to make an art movie about our adventure, see below. For more blog posts on local swimming holes, click here learn about outdoor activities. At this time of the year we spend a lot of time giving directions to the river at the Outside Inn, feel free to stop by and say hi. Mark your calendars for the SYRCL annual River Clean up event, Saturday, September 20th, 9am-noon and join the community event to help keep our rivers clean.

What a fun day. Thanks for sharing!
My sisters and all of our kids use to head up to Little Town every Friday morning in the summer. Fond memories of a little spot on the beautiful Yuba!
Your pictures are beautiful —wish I lived closer!!!!! (I am staying glued to me phones!!!!!) xxoo–pp
What a sweet little video! It really does capture the feeling of hanging out at our river. Thanks for sharing!
I grew up there. After people started posting on social media about our magical river we were overrun by people who left behind trash, broken beer bottles, bullet casings, graffiti and dead animals. I think it is sad to see the river treated as a destination. For many of us it is scared…a quiet, personal love that we have no need to broadcast. Your images are pretty and the film sweet, but at what cost? Some places deserve to be and remain wild and free…unencumbered by modern ‘sharing’…
