SUP Races at Scotts Flat Lake
If you missed last night’s end of the season SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) race at Scotts Flat Lake, don’t worry, just rent a board from Mountain Recreation, throw some drinks in a cooler and bring the kids (and you’ll have a similar experience). Mountain Rec is out at Scotts Flat Lake on the weekends through Labor Day, but has boards available in their shop week days and into September. Zoey McLarty, last night’s women’s race winner, said “Definitely try SUP, it’s a great workout, lots of fun and a great way to spend time outside.” Scotts Flat Lake and Lower Scotts Flat Lake are two great local places to play in the water, whether you’re swimming, kayaking or on a SUP. Many thanks to the crew at Mountain Rec, BOGA Boards and South Yuba Club for a great evening last night, good times had by many. What’s your favorite lake sport?
