Swimming holes on the South Yuba River

Summer in Nevada City is not complete without a trip to the South Yuba River for a dip in one of the many fabulous swimming holes.  If you’re new to the area and want some tips, stop by the Outside Inn office and we’re happy to point you in the right direction.

Many thanks to the Outside Inn guest Paula Grech and her family for sharing these photos from their visit to Nevada City.

My two sons and I spent many days over many years swimming here at the bridge and at other favorite spots upstream. One of our favorites was the “pond” just below where the cable bridge was (before it washed away in 80 0r ’81. I live in Texas now. I see these photos and can npot imagine why we are not still there!!
