Grass Valley Chef's Table with Alan Tangren, Tess' KitchenTess’ Kitchen has launched a whole new dining experience for our community, a gourmet Chef’s Table with Chez Panisse veteran chef Alan Tangren.  Last night was the soft opening and I had the pleasure of enjoying the six course meal with wine pairings with a small party of 10.  The meal included Maryland soft shell crab with Thai Green papaya salad paired with Solune Winegrowers Barbera Rose followed by sautéed Delta lamb tenderloin with fried shallots and Provençal tomatoes and a glass of Szabo Vineyards Zinfandel.  The raspberry soufflé was a work of art and perfectly paired with the Solune Winegrowers P.O.S.H. sweet wine.  The intimate dining experience will be available starting Saturday, July 26th, so if you’re looking for a fine dining experience with the opportunity to interact with the chef and ask questions, this may be the foodie experience for you, click here to sign up online.  With the start of the upcoming Farmers Markets, if you want an opportunity to get to know Alan, check out his Thursday Night Market Forage class, a chance to learn from a pro on the art of shopping at a Farmers Market.  Fellow dinner Jeff Pelline from Sierra Food Wine Art wrote about his experience here.  Thanks Steve and the staff at Tess’ Kitchen Store for their dedication to the art of food (click here and here to read about cooking classes).  And the winner of the cheese platter from Smith Vineyard is Erica.
