The Children’s Festival
The Children’s Festival returns to Nevada City’s Pioneer Park this Friday, July 27th. The one day Renaissance Fair has 2 sessions (9am-noon and 5-8pm). The admission price of $3 includes arts & crafts, faeries, craftsmen, face painting, spinning, music, fencing demonstrations, magic show, Pirate Skool and a fire-breathing dragon. New this year will be local favorite Izzy Tooinsky combing his love of juggling and storytelling and a giant chess board. The first 500 families at each session will have an opportunity to get a Children’s Festival tote bag (suggested donation of $1). Children of all ages are invited, costumes are encouraged. The Outside Inn’s blog has a pair of tickets to give away, post a comment here and I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday, July 25th. *Edited to say the winner is Merre.

This is a great event! I’d love to take all my grandkids!
Oh my gosh, how funnnnn!!!!! My boys would love this:) We may have to make the drive on Friday to check this out!!
We went last year for the first time and fell in LOVE!! There’s so much to do, you really could go for both sessions. And it appeals across the age span. Different activities for all different ages and interests. Our kids had a great time. For us parents – we felt like kids again, but more than that, we felt the great love and valuing of children and childhood that our community holds.
Love this festival. Such an amazing experience.i have 3 kids who’d love to go.
cannot wait for friday….we go every year…in costume of course!
